Beneath the Red Dragon

In the eleventh winter of the Giant Dragon Calendar, the Bay Stream City, located at the southern tip of the Golden Empire, also welcomed its fervent annual atmosphere.

This city, built on the site chosen by Bronze Dragon Alina, though not as expansive as major cities like the Golden City due to initially fewer inhabitants and geographical constraints, still boasts a unique style.

Surrounded by layered plains, mountains, and rivers, the east of Bay Stream City is nourished by a perennial waterfall tumbling from the high plains, rendering the land fertile and lush, a rare haven for settlements to thrive.

The disadvantage of being remote was offset by the Golden River flowing downstream and the transportation networks being constructed between major cities within the Empire.

Every few days, numerous boats travel downstream from the Royal Capital and the Golden City, navigating the canals that the Witch Demon’s bone army tirelessly dug day and night to connect to the main watercourse of the Golden River.

They bring new immigrants, enthusiastic merchants, curious adventurers, traveling minstrels, and a vast array of trade goods to the remote Bay Stream City.

On land, there are not only roads being gradually widened, but also tracks being laid across the Golden Empire, which now extend to Bay Stream City. In fact, the magic-powered steam railway from Bay Stream City to the Golden City was the first operational track to be constructed.

Nowadays, the magic-powered steam trains start their rumbling journeys between the major cities of the Empire, contributing immensely to the closer interconnection of the Empire’s cities.

The foundation of the Empire’s industrial development lies here, serving a purpose far beyond mere convenience.

Blue Dragon Carlette stood at the governor’s residence in Bay Stream City, built into the mountain, atop the former city lord’s fortress, overlooking the lush hills and flowing waters, the bustling populace, the competing sails, and the land routes, all encompassed within the view of this dragon transformed into a human girl.

The routine of handling mountains of affairs has led Blue Dragon Carlette to grow accustomed to such a life, where the peace and development of the city act as the best stimulant for the ruler.

Each city of the Empire has a stationed Giant Dragon, and currently, Bay Stream City is governed by Blue Dragon Carlette overseeing the highest affairs.

The former Bronze Dragon City Lord Alina, due to her exceptional capabilities, was left with an even heavier burden by the Ancestral Red Dragon.

Among the later-joining dragons to the group, Blue Dragon Carlette’s abilities might not appear particularly outstanding, even somewhat mediocre, yet she is the first among the newer additions to be entrusted with significant responsibilities.

Although the status of the dragons might seem equal in the presence of the Ancestral Red Dragon, an inner closeness or distance persists in every creature’s heart, even for dragons, they are not immune.

Blue Dragon Carlette, who used to be accustomed to a leisurely lifestyle, didn’t necessarily see this as a favorable decision for herself.

However, it could be seen from the Ancestral Red Dragon’s actions that the red dragon is utilizing various behaviors, either by inducement or semi-coercion, forcing the dragons in the group to gradually change their habits and make them accustomed to it.

Karon believes that every dragon in the group, except for White Dragon Camid, has the potential to become a competent ruler, enough to share many responsibilities.

In the eyes of the Ancestral Red Dragon, these Giant Dragons are more useful tools than any other race, always full of energy, withstanding months of sleeplessness without any issue.

The inheritance from the Dragon Blood and natural intelligence endow these dragons with great potential, provided their bloodline instincts are slightly altered.

”Don’t keep looking; you inspect it several times a day. Sometimes I even think that if that male dragon Akzhi appeared in front of you right now, you wouldn’t leave your city to meet with your lover,”

The humanoid form of Green Dragon Ali is a beautiful woman with wavy long hair, but her green vertical pupils render the woman’s style somewhat obscure, like a beautiful flower with hidden poison, seductive and dangerous.

Green Dragon Ali is a wild dragon, who, after joining the Dragon Group, has grown closer to Blue Dragon Carlette. Although these dragons have not yet been tasked with important duties by the Emperor of the Empire, they possess the right to observe governance.

The intentions of the Ancestral Red Dragon have long been clear among the Dragon Group. After dispatching Black Dragon Rosani to the new world being developed, the Giant Dragons, maybe all except White Dragon Camid who frequently argues with him, hold high expectations for their future.

The Icaria World is the homeland of the Golden Empire, the Nest of Ten Thousand Dragons, the headquarters for the Dragon Group. And the dragons within the Dragon Nest are the Emperor of the Imperial’s extended network, reaching out to other planes.

Perhaps in deciding the Empire’s system, without conferring territories to the Empire’s dragons yet retaining the title of Lord for them, the Ancestral Red Dragon had already anticipated this step.

The Lords of the Dragon Group, their territories do not lie within the Icaria World, but are in newly developed planes.

Because Green Dragon Antajena is already acknowledged by the Dragon Emperor of the Empire, internally among the Dragon Group, publicly within the Empire, under her title as the Lord of the Green Field.

Only the Emperor of the Imperial has not yet officially issued the decree to confer Green Dragon Antajena, that’s all.

But now, Green Dragon Antajena, although she doesn’t bear the illustrious title of a Red King like Red Dragon Kleyna or the name of a Black King like Black Dragon Rosani, the title of the Lord of the Green Field still leads every dragon in the group to strive diligently.
