Beneath the Red Dragon

”Leader, are we really going to be Mogyes’s dogs?”

The young Storm Giant Garcia was one of the leaders among the equally young Storm Giants, not only because of his talent but also because Garcia’s grandfather was the leader of the entire Storm Giant Tribe.

”Mogyes used to be lying dormant under the Supreme Titan, but now with the fall of the Supreme Titan, his ambitions can no longer be restrained,”

Old Maid sighed, his tall stature, which even in times past when stooped, was somewhat hunched, still taller than the average One-eyed Giant Assis, just more slender.

His once purple hair now had traces of gray. The Storm Giants, despite being considered a long-lived species, do not stand out among many other long-lived races, with only a lifespan of six hundred years, not living as long as the powerful Dragon Descendants created by the Giant Dragon.

But Old Maid has long surpassed this typical life limit in the Mortal World.

”Our Storm Giant Tribe, if we submit to him, will definitely be driven by him to fight everywhere. If we do not follow his orders, our tribe’s end will be no different from the dead Hill Giants.”

Maid stepped with great strides, leading many young Storm Giants to the seaside. Several large Peng Birds and Griffins descended from the sky and strolled beside the Storm Giants.

”But if we follow Mogyes’s orders, we’ll inevitably be dispatched to fight everywhere. Yet he is not a qualified leader, cruel, narrow-minded, violent, and self-righteous,”

”It’s a pity that if it were my youth, I might have directly killed that fool Assis and led the whole tribe to challenge Mogyes.”

The swirling storm flickered in the eyes of Maid, the Storm Giant Priest, but the heavy shackles on his shoulders prevented his power from being unleashed.

Even among all the Giant races, Storm Giants stand out for their peaceful nature, which doesn’t truly fit their race’s name.

Although many creatures might think, upon hearing the words Storm Giant, that these giants must be difficult to deal with, quite the opposite is true. Almost all Storm Giants prefer to live a peaceful, uncontentious life.

Compared to other more temperamental Giant species, Storm Giants are more inclined to spend most of their time contemplating world affairs, composing and playing music, farming the land, and gathering food, like a reclusive clan.

Only when truly enraged by something are they caused to unleash their thunderous fury, and this is not only a figurative thunderous fury but a literal one.

This is why even the juvenile Red Dragon, Karon Gogomola, could easily become a good conversational friend with this elderly leader of the Storm Giants.

Even though he is the leader of the Storm Giant Tribe, Maid is unwilling to lead the tribe down the path of confrontation against Mogyes due to his own desires.

”We are not afraid, Leader,” the young Storm Giant, like Garcia, possessed the ambition and courage of the youth, and even in the peace-loving race, youthful blood still surged within their bodies.

”Under your leadership, even if we die at the hands of Mogyes, we shall not regret, Storm Giants may love peace but do not fear challenge.”

The other Storm Giants were also roused, the young Storm Giants always being more active than the older ones, only the adults in the tribe remained silent, quietly contemplating.

”No, I am old now, no longer young, though my heart is willing, I no longer have the strength to oppose Mogyes. Maybe when I was young, I could barely thwart him with valor, but Mogyes remains a Legend,”

Maid’s words were calm, but the storm power within him became more turbulent.

Storm Giant Priests are unique among the Storm Giants.

Storm Giants, while having talents that far exceed ordinary races, only one-fifth of the adult Storm Giants within their group can become Warlocks or Casters.

And Storm Giant Priests are the strong giants from this elite fifth.

In the use of power, Storm Giant Priests are more akin to Shamans, treating all living beings equally regardless of their strength and casting level, and irrespective of their life status, it’s this peaceful mindset that allows them to master powerful thunder and storms.

Relying on the formidable power and talent, Maid once had the confidence to challenge Mogyes in his youth, but it is the older giant who can more clearly perceive the gap between him and the other.

”But we are young, we do not fear him, even if he’s a Legendary Giant, he cannot crush our spine,”

Garcia’s purple face flushed, seeming to feel ashamed that his grandfather, the leader and Priest of the Storm Giants, would speak such words.

Ultimately, Old Maid sighed again; he looked with some sternness toward his bloodline’s successor and said gravely, ”Do not be impulsive in making important decisions, driven by a momentary burst, Garcia,”

”Your parents were deceived by the guise of justice and goodness, insisting on following those people off to the Sea of Fury to duel and battle the Hundred-eyed Demon Whale, and finally falling in the Sea of Fury. I hope you are not as reckless.”
