Beneath the Red Dragon

In the deep autumn of the fifth year of the Giant Dragon Calendar, with the greatest reliance of the Beastman Legion in slaughtering the Dragon Group—the ancient beast bloodline, the Master of Beasts, Behemoth—being jointly devoured by the Dragon Group.

The Beastman Legion Commander Gahn had his head cut off in a blood-for-blood, bone-for-bone exchange with the death angels of the Master of the Dragon Clans and the Heavy Cavalry Corps led by Chiron, causing the remaining Beastman army to lose their will to resist.

The long-drawn-out tug-of-war, ”The War of the Beasts and Dragons,” which lasted nearly three years, finally dropped its curtain.

This war, which was perhaps the most brutal in the Northern Territory for decades, ended with the Gogomola Dragon Group’s victory, as the beastman’s royal banner fell before the dragon’s royal banner.

The course of this war may soon be sung by adventurers and minstrels, telling the story and legends of the over one hundred thousand corpses lying in the Land of Gold.

And on the plains in front of the Royal Capital, tens of thousands of bodies lay.

By now it was already deep into the night, just before dawn, but the blood on this battlefield had not yet dried, and the fire had not yet gone out.

In the moonlight gradually dimming in the sky and the dawn rising at the horizon, you could clearly see the smoke of gunpowder everywhere and mountains of skeletons.

Patches of beastmen fell, their bones soaked in the gradually drying blood, scattered limbs and exposed white bones overlapping.

Amid these beastman bodies, there were also a few warriors of the Giant Dragon. The armor on these dragon warriors was dented and ruined, almost fused with their blood and flesh, the rust of blood staining their entire bodies.

But even in death, they still tightly gripped their weapons, not even a severed arm would loosen its hold by a fraction.

There were also some warriors of the Giant Dragon Corps lying on the battlefield, but they bore no fatal wounds, for they died from exhaustion, having spent all their strength and energy before finally falling on the battlefield.

For even if it were ten thousand pigs, to kill them all would take a great deal of strength, let alone the beastmen who were extraordinarily powerful warriors.

The price of this was nearly having the entire army of over one hundred thousand beastmen slaughtered here.

Even though the collapsed Beastman army later successively surrendered, begging the dragon warriors for forgiveness, willing to become slaves and captives, not a single warrior was willing to accept this outcome.

No dragon would accept this outcome, nor would any of the Golden People accept this outcome.

The prolonged war initiated by the beastmen not only offended the dragons but offended all the Golden People.

The greedy offense of the beastmen led to the most thorough slaughter in return.

The Dragon Group thus proved that anyone daring to offend dragons would surely die beneath the claws and fangs of the dragons, even if it meant bearing the name of evil without hesitation.

And the Beastman Prince Gahn, who took the initiative to start the war, his tall body already knelt on the ground, surrounded by several Death Angels and Heavy Armor Knights’ corpses.

His expensive magic armor surprisingly bore no scratches, but his head was severed by a sharp blade, his exposed neck showing traces of being scorched by flames.

And Gahn’s head at this moment was held by a Death Angel. The holy flame on this Death Angel had already dissipated, signifying that he had stepped into eternal death.

But even though this Death Angel’s head was also severed by the Beastman Prince, his body still stood upright, his blood not spurting out, but as if congealed like jelly, holding the dignity of stepping into death.

This was the last mercy that the Red Dragon Monarch granted these loyal warriors!

And the Beastman Prince’s most trusted adjutant, as well as one of the most powerful warriors in the Beastman Legion, Cole, also fell on the battlefield hundreds of meters away from Gahn.

This orc, wielding a legendary warhammer, had the power to single-handedly challenge a young Red Dragon and prevail, yet he was still beheaded by the warriors of the Giant Dragon.

The cost was more than a dozen Death Angels’ fallen bodies and the lives of dozens of Heavy Cavaliers.

As well as more than ten shattered scales of the Blue Dragon Akzhi.

Beastman Legion Commander Jash and his legion were also annihilated on the battlefield, resulting in over half of six thousand heavy armor being damaged and the severe injuries of Barbarian Chief Jib and Jackal Wolfman Yougu.

In the Beastman army, almost all legion commanders were slain on this battlefield, only a few beastman troops escaped this death-woven net.

But the mercenaries hired by the Dragon Group and the bloodthirsty mercenary corps, bought at a high price by Goblin Shanshan, along with the Flying Dragon Riders, had already pursued along the retreating beastman troops.

It may not take long before the heads of the remaining thousands of beastmen are placed in front of the Giant Dragon Hall by these warriors as sacrifices.

That holy hall rising high in the sky, built from the filthiest bones into the most sacred hall, now quietly stood in the sky, guiding numerous loyal souls onto their pilgrimage, enjoying the offerings of skull pyres.

Thousands of residents and reserve legion warriors poured out from the sleepless Royal Capital, seeking the battle-scarred warriors on this battlefield.

If it was a beastman, they would add another cut, then sever the head, stacking it into a bone seat of skulls, offering it to the heroic spirits in the holy hall.

If it was a warrior of the Giant Dragon, they would call upon their companions to either transport the injured warrior or have pharmacists and the Healing Mage Corps perform treatments on the spot.
