Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 387: Chapter 147: Collusion_3

Though these Tree-men appear no different from ordinary plants in their tree form, both of them are not ordinary people and can sense the life energy beneath the surface of these giant trees.

”Don’t act recklessly,” the middle-aged captain instinctively warned his team member.

Fortunately, as they ascended the path, the temperature of the surrounding space near the summit gradually rose, and the Tree-men vanished from sight, allowing the two to speed up their climb towards the peak.

”This guy can’t actually be sleeping in the volcanic magma, right?” The blond young man was already sweating from the heat, and the two had no choice but to raise a barrier on the surface of their bodies to isolate the temperature. As a result, the Shadow Stealth Talisman easily leaked waves of energy.

”Maybe. Though according to what we know, these Red Dragons, despite their strong talents, can swim in magma, but only a sufficiently mature Young Red Dragon can enter a volcano to sleep freely. But this Red Dragon’s talent is clearly extraordinary; it wouldn’t be surprising if it sleeps in magma,”

The middle-aged captain glanced at the summit, filled entirely with boiling magma due to flames and heat, and stopped his steps.

”We can’t go any further. This lair not only has spells set by the dragon but also a huge barrier, similar to a domain. If we step inside, we will be forced to confront the power of the entire domain, and then we’ll be exposed.”

The middle-aged captain took out a small, rustic round mirror from his pocket. The long-maintained temperature isolation defense and the pressure from the domain required him to mobilize his power very carefully, with the Shadow Stealth Talisman now being managed by the blond young man.

He cautiously maintained the power input, channeling his strength into the small mirror. The rustic mirror immediately rippled with a gentle wave, and a scene appeared vaguely on it as if obscured by a thin mist.

What appeared before the two was a hell-like scene, with countless lava and molten fire pouring into a vast magma lake from large fissures. The boiling heat filled the entire space, making them feel the suffocating temperature.

The fissures also flowed with pure elemental energy, which exploded with enough force to blast the entire mountain top into the sky. The terrifying energy ripple instinctively made both hold their breath.

The rising magma lake was wide and turbulent, and the sight of the red Giant Dragon was nowhere to be found in the churning lava, with only occasional glimpses of dragon horns, thick as twisted ancient wood and sharp as a Supreme Divine Weapon, surfacing from the lake.

Before the two could take a closer look, the space filled with heat suddenly revealed countless beings running and leaping on the fiery ground. These beings were entirely composed of flames, spirits born of fire.

At this moment, all the flame spirits turned their heads in unison towards the mirror, a terrifying feeling gripped the hearts of the two like never before.

Crack,

The mirror shattered, falling from the middle-aged captain’s hand to the ground.

That night, in the tavern, the reunited team gathered together again.

In contrast to the other three’s relaxed attitude after a day of reconnaissance and play, the middle-aged captain and the blond young man, sitting in a corner, were particularly silent and serious.

The rest of the team actively shared the information they gathered.

”Based on my rough estimation, our strength compared to this world’s combat power is roughly at the initial entry of the Saint Tier, making us elite,”

The blond-haired girl still chewed gum, two packs at a time, making her mouth always bulging like a chipmunk hiding food in its cheeks.

The white-haired boy glanced at the captain, only to speak, ”I’ve found information on the original target. The original target, Kleyna, is known as the Red King by the territory’s residents and is the sister of the Overlord Red Dragon, also very powerful. Based on our strength, taking her down would be easy,”

”But within the territory, there are several other dragons. The strongest in combat is Young Red Dragon Kedelos, the mayor of the small town Kedelos to the rear. This guy, aside from fighting, spends his days holding indiscriminate gatherings of all races on his turf. If our target were him, it would feel easier.”

”My suggestion is to abandon this mission and choose another. While killing the Beastman Prince is also challenging, it comes without a time constraint, which means we essentially have unlimited time to complete it,”

The blond young man also glanced at the captain, whose face was dark, before slowly speaking, ”As long as we don’t care about maintaining the one-to-one time standard, wasting a lot of time in this world.”

The middle-aged captain nodded, his face heavy as he said, ”We’ve secretly observed that Red Dragon, though we haven’t seen everything, but even just one is an insurmountable mountain. His understanding of flames is far beyond the level of Red Dragon’s Bloodline Talent,”

”He already possesses a true domain. Most importantly, within his domain, a Flame Spirit was born, or, to put it another way for you to understand, he has, in the domain of flames, a level equivalent to orthodox magic’s illusion, even possessing a Magic Essence Spirit.”

”We can’t possibly complete this task! His level of understanding in power is far beyond his life level; that’s the most terrifying part!”

Everyone fell silent for a moment, but only the purple-haired young man kept muttering to himself after hearing the captain’s words, ”No time limit, insurmountable, I know, I think I get it!”

The dark-faced crowd looked at the self-talking purple-haired youth, gritting their teeth as they spoke in unison, ”What do you know? Spill it out, stop leaving us in suspense.”

”The Main God never sets an impossible task, except under extremely special circumstances. Like our initial target was simply another Red Dragon, easy for us to complete; we were considering how to escape.”

The purple-haired young man clapped his hands excitedly, ”But then, due to certain reasons, it changed the mission to something highly tempting yet seemingly impossible to complete,”

”It was never on the Beastman’s side, nor was it on the Giant Dragon’s side at the start, until for some reason, it changed the mission, and it’s been luring us with greatly varying rewards to make a choice!”

”I suspect, our pioneering mission hides the true intention of the Main God, to acquire the Blood of Ancestors from that Red Dragon, and we might not even need an actual battle. We have another route: to become a Dragon Descendant, or rather, to qualify to become a Dragon Descendant of that Giant Dragon!”

The purple-haired young man was somewhat incoherent, but his familiar teammates quickly caught on to his meaning.

”The Main God might be a Divine Spirit to us, but to real Divine Spirits in this world, it is a Heretic God. What could be a simpler and more effective way to pioneer the entire world than colluding with the original world’s Divine Spirits!”

”Perhaps, it discovered the trace of Dragon God on that Red Dragon, and given the Giant Dragon’s outstanding talent, it’s normal for it to enjoy the attention of the Dragon God!”

”Woohoo,” everyone gathered around, lifting the purple-haired youth up and tossing him into the air.

”I must admit, you’re indeed a bit smarter than me,” the blond-haired girl spat out her gum and sneaked it onto her teammate’s butt, shouting loudly.
