Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 388: Chapter 148: Sleeping Dragon

Karon no longer knew how long he had lingered in this desolate Spiritual World; his perception of time was in a constant state of flux.

At times, he even felt he had experienced countless years, yet the next second, he’d feel as though he’d just set foot into this realm.

This extremely skewed and ever-shifting perception, combined with endless solitude, could easily drive a strong-minded person insane. Even Karon, with his firm resolve, felt somewhat fatigued under the prolonged changes in time perception.

A silent and still world, devoid of life, devoid of evil spirits; only Karon existed in solitude.

Sometimes Karon even wished to encounter one or two powerful evil spirits; a fight would also be welcome.

Yet although his perception of time was endlessly distorted, the time he physically experienced remained unchanged.

In the first few years, Karon persisted in exploring the possible changes in the desolate Spiritual World and strove to tread to its very end by sheer willpower.

After years of perseverance, Karon eventually realized that this world seemed unchanging, just like its barren, silent surface, except for the spontaneous absorption of all surrounding Spiritual Material.

Karon’s power couldn’t even stir a ripple in this world, dissipating instead into Spiritual Material, devoured by the world.

And this world seemed akin to the legendary River of Time, boundless and measureless; neither its source nor its end discernible.

In this endless temporal exploration, he gradually learned how to extract faint spirituality to replenish his Spiritual Body from this desolate world.

He discovered that this Spiritual Material, assimilated by the barren world, would somehow be redistributed to the deeper layers of the genuine Spiritual World.

Because as he advanced, the rate of his own spillover spirituality gradually accelerated, with the world’s absorption strength steadily increasing.

This desolate world is akin to the stomach of all Domain Worlds, using infinite time to erode and transform all material into spirituality—this is the manifestation of the world’s Rule.

Unfortunately, while this barren passage resembles the world’s stomach, it lacks a true gastric outlet for Karon to leave, unless he shatters all spirituality, at which point he would cease to be himself.

An eternity of solitude prompted Karon to immerse himself fully in the exploration of spirituality, to pass the time.

Until countless decades and countless moments passed, Karon finally managed effortlessly to stabilize his Spiritual Body, no longer subject to this world’s passive consumption.

But Karon was already exhausted, undeterred by death’s erosion nor endless solitude, yet easily felled by spirit fatigue. He entered a spiritual slumber in the corner of this world.

His colossal Spiritual Body, day after day, year after year, passively contended with the world for scant spilled spirituality until this spirituality accumulated, forming a tower of sand, a collection of furs, layer upon layer of spirituality enshrouded Karon.

Like a cocoon of light, it grew continuously in the corner of this world.

Karon fell into slumber while his companions awoke one by one.

As time flowed, one Young Dragon after another awakened from their nest.

Green Dragon Antajena was the first to awaken among the Dragon Group, which shows that the current Green Dragon ranks third among the Five-Colored Dragon Species, even falling short of the former least potent White Dragon Camid in potential and talent.

The deeper the impact of the Evil Dragon Blood on a Giant Dragon, the harder it is for them to achieve stronger growth; their future is bound by the lineage and inheritance of the previous generation, compelled to grow by the rules. Green Dragon Antajena now senses this.

However, as Green Dragon Antajena climbed out from her twisted Green Forest Palace, she observed Bronze Dragon Alina already waiting there.

Through the growth catalyzed by lineage and Magic Power during slumber, the area around the Green Dragon Nest was already densely woven with countless twisted thick vines and poisonous weeds, with ancient trees growing like monstrous claws engulfing the entire sky, making the forest a place nearly bereft of sunlight.

”Why have you come to my nest, Alina? This is my private domain; you have offended me.”

Green Dragon Antajena bared her fangs, emitting low growls and warnings from her throat. Every Giant Dragon’s Dragon Nest is tantamount to their most private Domain; even companions with the closest bonds cannot intrude at will, lest they face a battle.

Green Dragon’s grown body is forged entirely like Jade, its beautiful scales shining brightly; even the lush green forest pales in comparison to the Life Force and color of the scales on this Green Dragon.

Fortunately, the Green Dragon was somewhat distinct from ordinary Five-Colored Dragons, always more tolerant towards acknowledged companions, and Bronze Dragon Alina was only at the perimeter of the Dragon Nest, not intruding into the true nest palace.

More importantly, Bronze Dragon Alina being a Young Dragon greatly diminished Green Dragon Antajena’s desire to battle, as the awakened Green Dragon was very hungry and was only thinking of consuming large quantities of delicious meat.

”Calm down, Antajena. I sensed your imminent awakening, so I’ve been waiting here; I think you need to know some things about the Domain.”

Bronze Dragon Alina smiled, revealing her white fangs, her crisp Dragon Language carrying an undertone of reassurance and friendliness. The young female dragon’s flicking long tail indicated her rare pleasant mood.
