Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 352: Chapter 137: Small but Great

Woo...woo...

The loud sound of horns and bugles echoed over the sea as the Beastmen, who had rested for most of the night, launched their attack once again.

One by one, the warships sailed into the Gulf, forming a wall on the sea as sails billowed, with numerous Two-Masted Gunships guarding both sides.

The Shahua Fishmen beneath the water also surged out en masse, flooding the harbor with their overwhelming numbers, blocking every exit of the sunken shipwreck with their fish spears and bodies in resistance against the prowling White Dragon.

Other Shahua Fishmen dragged the wrecks, towing one broken ship after another to the deep sea area.

War arrived with the rising sun, fiercer than yesterday.

Different from yesterday’s defense, today’s Beastmen were attacking with full force. All the flagships, including the main ship where Beastman Legion Commander Gahn was located, sailed into the Gulf, leaving nothing reserved.

”Fire with all your might, destroy this fragile fortress, destroy everything before our eyes, destroy all the enemies!”

Amidst the roar of the Beastman Captain and the chaotic swaying flags, thousands of cannons and Giant Crossbows on the sea wall fired almost simultaneously.

It was more terrifying than the Thunderbolt in the sky, a sound of death’s blaze, aiming to shatter the enemies before them to pieces.

The roar of the Heavy Cannon could be heard for dozens of miles, and the whistle of the Giant Crossbow surpassed any beast’s roar.

Countless Heavy Hammer blows from the Heavy Cannon Giants struck the solid fortress, blasting it into scattered stone dust, and injuring the archers hiding within.

Countless Giant Crossbows covered every part of the fortress, their fierce buzzing sound nailing into the fortress like death’s spear, piercing every enemy daring to resist, and splattering their flesh and blood.

The fortress that was originally sturdy and intact now had potholes everywhere, and some cracks were starting to form in the fortress wall, gradually spreading like a scattered spider web.

”Damn it, my Iron Cannon’s fixed base has been blasted apart, I need to fix it again, can’t make it, someone help hold it,”

A tall Green-skinned Gunner shouted loudly, although his voice was quickly drowned out by the continuous bombardment, his comrades hiding in the corner still rushed over to support the heavy gun barrel with their bodies.

Bang,

A Heavy Cannon luckily blasted through the landing window, exploding beside this Green-skinned Gunner, blowing him and his comrade to pieces.

”Phew,”

An Elf Archer leaning against the fortress wall spat out the blood in his mouth, the continuous artillery strikes had caused some internal injuries to these Elf Archers.

But in the brief pause of the bombardment, these Elf Archers stood up fearlessly from the lookout windows, drew their Longbows, and with the Sharp Arrows in their hands, gave the enemy a weak but resolute counterattack.

The cliffs on both sides of the harbor had cracked and collapsed under the bombardment, with many unfortunate gunners and archers falling into the sea as the cliffs collapsed due to their closeness.

A Giant Demon Crossbowman ducked behind the artillery, avoiding the bombardment from the sea, and when it stopped, he raised his head from behind the artillery and shouted to his comrades, ”Quick, load the cannonballs, I want to give them a shot, show them the power of my cannon.”

But no one responded for a while. The Giant Demon looked back to see his comrades, responsible for loading and transporting the cannonballs, were already pierced through by a black Crossbow Arrow, hanging from a nearby tree stump.

”Damn it, these bastards,” the Giant Demon roared, limping back to carry the cannonballs for loading, igniting the flame of the artillery.

The sun gradually rose, the weather began to heat up, but what was more unsettling was the increasingly fierce battlefield.

The enormous body of the Blue Dragon Akzhi stood on the outer walls of the Golden City, gazing at the battle happening on the sea.

Although after a night’s rest, the Blue Dragon’s body had mostly recovered, the nearly exhausted Magic Power had not yet returned.

Thus, today the Blue Dragon Akzhi did not spread the light terrifying menace to the Beastmen, but instead guarded the Golden City.

Around the Blue Dragon, along the long city walls, stood hundreds of Elf Archers clad in Leather Armor and hundreds of Green-skinned Dogmen mixed in with Firearms Soldiers.

The once Centaur Maiden Suniya, now the leader of the Bow Corps, was patrolling the city walls, inspecting the armaments of these archers.

Orderly groups of Casters holding amplified Magic Staffs, wearing uniform robes, hid under each wall niche and lookout post, poised to strike.

And behind the walls were numerous silent Warriors, the Mixed Corps led by Barbarian Jib and the Evil Wolf Battle Corps led by Jackal Wolfman Yougu were already fully equipped, lined up neatly.

Thousands of weapons glinting coldly, thousands of black armor, the clang of steel forming a continuous sound, reflecting death’s light under the sunlight, like a Steel Jungle.

”It’s time to retreat,” Blue Dragon Akzhi stood on the high lookout, gazing towards the distant sea.

There, countless Fishmen leaped within the tide, the tide pushed countless bodies on the sea surface to swirl and spin, as if there was a gigantic whirlpool in the deep sea, specially devouring these flesh.

A layer of red water emerged from the whirlpool’s eye, gradually painting the surrounding sea area red.
