Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 354: Chapter 137: Small Yet Great (3)

”Will there be green-skinned shadows in the Dragon’s Holy Hall in the future!” In the last second before being swallowed by death, the minds of the two green-skinned beings echoed with these words, not fear.

”Destruction,” the hundred-meter Sea Giant roared, shaking and toppling the fortress as if stepping on a toy. His palm sent the remaining fortress flying, accompanied by a fierce roar.

Yet he was not satisfied, crushing every shipwreck obstructing the harbor into pieces of wood, shattering debris on the sea surface, and tossing them afar.

He crossed the black sea surface of the harbor, driving the tides ashore, turning the coast into a new ocean.

”Let me bring destruction to you, death is your ultimate destination.”

The God of Sharks Sekla strode toward the Golden City with the surging tide, soldiers densely packed on the long city wall. The fear among many soldiers brought the Sea Giant a sense of delight.

But he did not notice that with each approach to the Golden City, the tide he drove became shallower, with seawater constantly falling from his massive body, causing him to shrink steadily.

When the Sea Giant was 200 meters from the Golden City, the tide had turned into a thin layer, his form entirely planted on solid ground.

With a splash,

The water form of the God of Sharks dispersed like spray, drenching the ground, and beneath the deluge of condensed seawater, the Demon-Banning Rune Stones buried deep in the soil gradually revealed themselves.

”These useless fools,” the Sea Giant’s head fell to the ground, scattering into glistening droplets.

Yet no soldier on the city wall cheered for this; they watched the Orc fleet entering the harbor and the Shahua Fishmen still unyielding, beginning to raise their longbows and igniting their arrows.

Blue Dragon Akzhi raised his sharp claws, and Suniya also raised the ignited longbow, shouting, ”Prepare!”

”Prepare!”

The messengers responding to her voice echoed simultaneously.

”Prepare!”

More soldiers joined in the chorus after hearing it.

”Caster Corps, prepare!”

Ships broke through the waves, entering the harbor, adjusting themselves for a closer approach to using artillery cover for landing.

Numerous Shahua Fishmen leaped from the pungent black sea, shaking their heads to rid the sticky liquid from their heads, aiming to overwhelm this city wall with their sheer numbers.

”Raise,” Suniya lifted her longbow, determined to shoot her arrows much further.

”Raise,” countless soldiers shouted loudly, raising their longbows in unison.

”Shoot!”

Suniya released the bowstring, and burning arrows mixed with fiery lines, propelled by the Magic Wind, plunged toward the distant sea surface.

Some Shahua Fishmen stealthily withdrew into the sea, while a few fools raised their tridents, attempting to swat away these seemingly light arrows.

The Orc ships made no defense preparations; at this distance, even with the aid of magic, these arrows couldn’t reach their vessels. They merely watched the towering city walls excitedly, weapons in hand shaking.

But the next moment, countless fire arrows plunged into the sea, not extinguished, like sparks igniting a prairie fire, setting the sea ablaze instantly.

Dots connected into lines, lines into patches, the flames rapidly spread, turning the ocean into a sea of fire, raging furiously.

The entire harbor’s sea surface transformed into an inferno in the blink of an eye, igniting many Shahua Fishman Warriors who writhed within the fire.

The flames spread rapidly, Orc ships with casters attempted to extinguish the encroaching blaze with spells, but those on smaller artillery boats could only watch their vessels catch fire helplessly.

The scholars’ enhanced black oil ignited even the damp ship structures, while the vessels behind clogged the entrance route, forcing some artillery boats to dart chaotically on the sea.

”Command the Fishman casters to stir the waves and extinguish these flames,” the Orc flagship commander roared loudly.

The Orc order officers hastily communicated with the Fishman leaders, instructing them to re-drive the waves and extinguish the flames.

But the viscous black oil mixed with magical materials couldn’t be extinguished without thoroughly isolating the air or covering the burning layer with a large amount of seawater.

The waves driven by Fishman casters could only extinguish nearby sea areas, merely lifting the waterline in the frontmost parts, unable to create the tidal storm like the incarnation of the God of Sharks Sekla.

Thus, the waves slowly rolled, extinguishing the flames on the sea surface incrementally.

When the flames on the sea finally extinguished, over a dozen vessels had already burned and sunk, their Orc crew charred and floating alongside Fishman corpses.

However, the Orc Legion Commander and the Shahua Fishman Prince were indifferent to such losses, blowing the horn of attack, the flagship aligned before the port, commencing bombardment on the Golden City walls, covering their warriors’ landing.

Further artillery and crossbow arrow barrels from the ships were dismantled, meant for reassembly onshore, necessitating defensive coverage.

”Break their Demon-Banning Domain entirely to unleash full firepower and spell caster potential.”

Orc Legion Commander Gahn displayed a cold demeanor, lightly waving his strong arm, saying flatly, ”Dispatch the Redemption Army, initiate the assault!”

The Shahua Fishmen began wielding fish spears and tridents, landing densely with Orcs and Fishmen from both vessels and underwater, surging towards the Golden City as the vanguard.

The friction of steel blades, the deafening shouts, like surging waves, threatened to engulf the city.

The range of the Magic Power Heavy Cannon barely covered the entire area from the landing point to the front of the Golden City’s walls, roaring as heavy cannons fell, the ground transmitting slight tremors from the surge of thousands of enemies.

Blue Dragon Akzhi roared, ”Casters, Magic Barrier!”

Centaur Warrior Suniya bellowed loudly, ”Archers ready, Firearms Soldiers ready!”

Guard Commander also shouted loudly, ”Artillery ready, crossbow aim!”

The Blue Dragon and the Casting Corps simultaneously unleashed magic power, erecting magical shields, and the next moment, as if meteors tore through the sky, artillery attacks arrived with a boom.

With a crash,

Layers of magical barriers surged with intense waves, the organized Casters Corps exerted full force maintaining their magical output, meeting one artillery barrage after another.

The sea breeze carried the stench of millions, heavily nauseating, soldiers atop the wall couldn’t count the enemy numbers, yet without hesitation, they drew their bows to target the overwhelming tide rushing toward them.

”Free shooting!” Centaur Warrior issued the command, his Magic Longbow releasing the whistling sound of death, mixing with the chorus of countless shrieking voices.

The roar of artillery and the screech of giant crossbows erupted simultaneously.

A rain of arrows descended like dark clouds, pressing upon the Orcs and Fishmen, bodies unarmored and most of the Orc vanguard only clad in leather armor, becoming fragile targets for these skilled archers.

Large numbers of Orcs and Fishmen were shot down, few able to stand again, as those unharmed were trampled by the advancing Orcs, on a battlefield assailment permits only progression, no retreat.

The mixed Firearms Soldiers pierced through the bodies of Orcs and Fishmen with every shot, driving bullets deep into enemy flesh.

These single-shot firearms may lack the firing speed of bows and arrows but have immense power, rarely leaving an enemy alive, even Orcs with far superior life force than humans.

And artillery’s deterrence surpasses these firearms, as each explosive shell scattered iron nails and thorns, while crossbow arrows strung rows of dense enemies into sugar-coated skewers.

Rows of enemies fell like grass being mowed, but Orcs and Fishmen were simply too numerous, starting to reach the trenches, pushing to penetrate this simple defense.

Orcs further back were destroying and clearing away buried Demon-Banning Rune Stones, yet the Dragon Warriors had no time to manage them.

With a rumble, the gates of the Golden City voluntarily opened at last, a jungle of steel and iron, blood and fire warriors, gripped the piercing Bloodthirsty Blade tightly, attacking!
