Beneath the Red Dragon

In the autumn season, it’s always the time of harvest, especially on this once fertile land.

The farmers love to sing songs praising the Giant Dragon while diligently harvesting crops. The residents of the city also hold celebrations to mark the harvest festival.

But the bountiful land has been completely flattened by the Beastman Army, turning into a wilderness, with over a hundred thousand beastmen surrounding the Royal Capital, a city whose grandeur even the capital of the Beastman Kingdom cannot compare.

This is an ocean, a raging dragon scroll that wants to smash the obstacles ahead.

”Attack, attack, prepare the cannon fire, prepare the Dragon Crossbow, suppress from afar, at all costs,”

The beastman commander raised the Command Banner high, roaring that the whole world should thunder, as heavy cannons and giant crossbows have been relentlessly bombarding the sturdy city walls since the first ray of morning light.

No matter how strong the defense line is, under the beastmen’s reckless expenditure, it becomes shakable.

Under the sky-covering long-range cover, the Beastman Army surged toward the city that now saw hope for being captured, wanting to break the stone city with flesh and blood, as they have no way back.

Yes, the commander of the beastmen, Beastman Prince Gahn, personally announced this before launching the attack.

Beastman Gahn, this remarkable schemer, wants every beastman warrior to carry with them courage that cannot retreat, to settle everything in today’s decisive battle.

”Kill, the warrior who first ascends the city walls, will be rewarded with twenty thousand gold and a hundred miles of land,” the beastman’s vanguard officer also roared, shouting lavish rewards to inspire the beastman warriors’ more bloodthirsty bravery.

Countless beastman warriors roared forward, seizing upon a momentary suppression of wall firepower, stepping on the corpses left by their kin from yesteryears, carrying siege machinery, moving forward relentlessly.

”Dodge, dodge, then counterattack,” Blue Dragon Akzhi held the line on the most fiercely attacked south city wall alone, his dragon roar clearly conveying orders to every warrior.

Even though the warriors of the dragon on the city walls are brave, they cannot withstand the enemy’s heavy cannon and giant crossbow with flesh and blood. But they cannot stand by and watch the beastmen breach the walls; they have the most critical task, and behind them are their homes, their families, their everything.

Courage bestowed them with fearless will, facing heavy cannon bombardment and giant crossbow shots, countless kobolds howled as they lit the gunfire, turning crossbows, launching a fierce counterattack.

The green-skinned musketeers also stared with small eyes, extending firearms from the wall shooting ports, pulling the trigger, igniting a tide of counterattack.

”Kill these beastmen, I, Kobold Wanggu, will never retreat a step, the will of the dragon shines upon me,” the increasingly frenzied kobold artilleryman shouted.

He patted the barrel, urging his companions in the artillery group to quickly load the shell, engaging in a shootout with the beastmen’s long-range firepower.

Boom,

A heavy cannon from the beastmen exploded on the city wall, the power of which didn’t harm this kobold artilleryman, but the fragments of stone shattered like arrows and bullets, cracking the kobold’s head open.

”Damn you beastmen,”

Next to him, the elven archer hiding behind the battlement stared, green eyes shimmering with fine blood streaks, biting his teeth as he stood up from behind the wall, drawing his longbow full, whistling arrows carrying the elf’s anger, precisely exploding the heads of each beastman.

Whizz,

A giant crossbow precisely penetrated the shooting hole, directly skewering and splitting a green-skinned shooter’s body, with internal organs spilling out.

Beside them, the beastman Redemption Army, responsible for close combat, silently prayed with his hand on the forehead: ”May the benevolent Giant Dragon forgive the sins of these kin, may the holy Dragon illuminate the courage of these comrades.”

”As for me, I’ll deliver you to the sacred hall of the Dragon for judgment.” In the next second, the beastman Redemption Army picked up the firearm left on blood and bone by the green skin, roaring as he blew up his kin’s head.

Faen guarded the watchtower on the wall with the warriors under his command; even though the soldiers of the First Legion have been tempered by war, they still do not count as the most elite under the dragon, therefore, the whole First Legion is responsible for the city’s defense.

But seeing one beloved of the dragon after another die in front of him, even tasked with holding back the beastmen from climbing the walls for close combat, he was somewhat unable to contain himself.

”Lord Faen?” The warriors of the first company were restless, casting inquiring glances toward Faen.

Boom,

He watched another blast from the Magic Cannon, shattering the roaring Giant Demon Crossbowman, with blood and bone splattering across his face.

”Damn these beastman bastards, I’m gonna kill them,”

A young warrior beside him finally couldn’t hold back, roaring as he forcibly charged out, taking over the position of the Giant Demon Crossbowman.

In this moment, they didn’t distinguish between monster and human, nor between races, they had only one identity, comrades.

In the sky, hundreds of flying dragons roared, on the ground tens of thousands of beastmen bellowed, on the city walls countless warriors wept blood, the battle nearly stained the entire walls red, with steel and flame, skin and flesh, this is the battlefield.

In the city, all the residents prayed, prayed that the city would not fall. There were also countless brave residents who joined the logistics teams, braving cannon fire and crossbow arrows to transport supplies.

Some residents had already donned leather armor, taken up sword and blade, spontaneously converged at the city gates, standing behind silent warriors, ready to step in at any time.
