Beneath the Red Dragon

The great battle entered its most intense phase at the very beginning, and after more than an hour of fierce assault, finally a Beastman Warrior scaled the city wall.

Scratch, scratch, scratch

Faen rose from his seated, meditative state, surrounded by the sharp blades that signified the warriors’ resolve, for their eyes were colder than these blades.

”Kill,” Faen coldly spat out a word, leading the charge out of the sentry post.

”This city is finally going to fall to us,”

Beastman Legion Commander Gahn donned his armor, standing beneath the fluttering royal banner, gazing at the Beastman Warriors continuously climbing up the city walls, his always calm face showing a hint of satisfaction.

Beside him stood his adjutant Cole, this valiant warrior led the Vanguard Corps, with battering rams, attempting to break through the gate forged with fine steel by the Dwarf Blacksmiths, failing and retreating wounded, now standing by Beastman Gahn’s side.

On Cole’s steel-like left arm were two deep holes, marks left by enchanted Armor-Piercing Crossbow Arrows piercing through; even the mighty Saint Tier, in large-scale legion warfare, can easily perish.

This further highlighted the strength and fearlessness of this Beastman Warrior.

”It seems that today, we can end the Dragon Group’s reign, planting the Beastman’s royal banner on this city,” Cole’s expression turned somewhat relaxed.

The war faction of these Beastmen had invested too much strength and resources in the successive, three-year-long war to bear the consequence of failure.

Even if dying on this land is preferable to the shameful retreat back to the Beastman Kingdom following the failure of war.

Death in this world is not the most terrifying punishment; sometimes it’s even a generous reward.

”It’s a pity that to capture the Dragon Group’s territory, we had to compromise with those old entities; originally, this should be the best land to rebuild the Beastman Empire.”

Cole’s protruding tusks opened and closed, yet his tone was distinctly discontented.

”Even if we didn’t let them engage, we must relinquish a considerable portion of the benefits; this is also for the best, at least they share part of the losses, and our elite forces aren’t depleted, still sufficient to counter their strength.”

Beastman Prince Gahn looked at the south city wall, about to be breached, smiling, ”At least the two Legion Commanders lost at the Golden Coast don’t belong to our forces.”

”But what we’ve gained in exchange is a beautiful future. I will restore the ancient Beastmen’s glory, building my throne from the corpses and bones of those old fellows!”

At that moment, Beastman Prince Gahn finally ceased concealing himself, gazing bravely, overlooking the towering city as if he was looking down.

Cole also laughed, ”When the army breaks the city, I’ll eliminate Jash, and then you’ll permit his legion to plunder the city for ten days, which will easily subdue these warriors.”

Gahn also smiled, unable to resist turning to gaze at the royal banner where the Beastman Legion Commander Jash, dispatched from another faction, was stationed.

But his peripheral vision caught sight of, from the right flank of the Beastman Army, towards the direction of the Golden Coast, dust billowing like a whirlwind, but it wasn’t the anticipated Dragon Group’s Beloved and Warriors, rather countless Beastmen.

Countless dead Beastmen.

That night, Beastmen slaughtered by the Dragon Group and Steel Knights were all turned into Undead by the Witch Demon, exhausting all her strength.

These bones revived by hatred and fear, driven by the thirst for the blood of the living, the flesh of the living.

This was a boiling tide of corpses, vengeful undead, charging with fear.

They emitted dissonant echoes from their still-undecomposed vocal cords, bound in the bodies in front of them, unredeemed.

This massive tide of corpses, even as their soles were worn to the bone during the charge, striking the ground, still felt no pain; their sole target was the loathed life ahead.

Behind this massive tide of corpses, countless White Bone Undead emerged from the dust, their pristine teeth clenching and moving silently, seeking to compete with the massive tide for slaughter.

Thousands of Beastman Legions stationed defensively on the opposite shore were inundated by this wave of the deceased, unable to cope, even if their swords and heavy hammers could easily kill these dead, the opponents were no longer afraid of death.

The corner of Beastman Legion Commander Gahn’s eye twitched, watching helplessly as thousands of Beastman Warriors were divided, crushed, and devoured by the massive tide of corpses.

Yet the tide of corpses and bones did not satisfy, fearless, one by one, they jumped into the wide River of Gold, surfacing anew on the other bank.

”Reserve Corps, change direction, be alert in defense,” Beastman Adjutant Cole finally roared loudly, personally directing the Reserve Corps to establish a defensive line, resisting the assault of the deceased.

”Desecration, the soul-manipulating Witch Demon, what terrifying desecration, an intolerable evil,” hidden in the air, observing the war, two Bronze Dragons roared angrily.

This was an action absolutely intolerable by the Justice Faction; these two Bronze Dragons, at that moment, even considered joining the Beastman Legion, helping Beastmen defeat the evil Five-Colored Dragon Group.

Yet the two Bronze Dragons quickly fell silent because the air was thick with the mixed, intense aura of Giant Dragons, not one, but dozens.
