Beneath the Red Dragon

The many Caster Corps were still being held back by the tide of the dead, while the heavy artillery and ranged units of the Beastman Army barely had time to turn around before they faced the desperate charge of the Redemption Corps and the First Legion.

The Archer Corps, left behind by the reserve troops guarding the Beastman Prince Gahn, was distracted by the surprise attack of countless cavalry and entangled by a large number of Wild Beast Cavalry, unable to effectively strike the Giant Dragon.

The Beastman Commander could only watch helplessly as the Beastman Casters quickly cast a layer of Magic Protection on the Beastman Warriors to resist the spells and Dragon Breath of the Dragon Group.

A large-scale ”War Inspiration” was cast to resist the majesty and oppression of the Giant Dragon. But the next moment, these Beastman Warriors were torn apart and devoured by countless icy flames, venom, and lightning, unable to hold on for even a second.

These formidable Beastman Warriors, each strong enough to defeat more than two human professional warriors in direct combat, were the elite chosen by the kingdom and protected by the Casters.

But at the moment the Dragon Group appeared, the Beastmen’s flesh was charred, bones and muscles torn, skin and flesh dissolved, shattered by the unparalleled impact, and their dismembered bodies rained down in a bloody shower over the land.

The hair on the Beastman Commander’s body bristled with fear: ”Monsters!”

”Don’t clump together, don’t retreat anymore, charge forward, or die!”

Beastman Legion Commander Jash’s arm muscles bulged, and he swung his Fine Steel Flail with all his strength to clash with the descending Dragon Claw of Blue Dragon Doss, then quickly sidestepped back. Even as a Saint Tier Warrior, he couldn’t face the overwhelming power of the Giant Dragon head-on.

He knew clearly that just a dozen Giant Dragons couldn’t defeat the entire Beastman Army. These dragons were breaking through the sturdy lines of the Beastman Army for their loyal Beloved and warriors, throwing the Beastman Army into greater chaos before slicing through it one piece at a time.

The terrifying Heavy Armor Corps, following the breakthrough carved out by the Dragon Group, was cutting the enemy Legions. Without the protection of those Heavy Shield Beastmen, the remaining Beastman Warriors were like fish on a chopping block in front of the Heavy Armor Corps.

All who stand in their way, shattered!

The endless flashing blade light remarkably cut both the weapons and bodies of the Beastman Warriors in two, a river of blades slowly destroying all life that blocked its advance.

Jash darted through the Imperial Guard Corps, roaring loudly: ”Reorganize the charge, grip your weapons tightly, follow me, and carve a bloody path!”

Amid the boiling and clamorous battlefield, with the earth-shaking world around them, the Beastman Commander couldn’t hear what his Legion Commander was saying clearly, but he could see, in front was a silently advancing, quietly slaughtering Heavy Armor phalanx.

The Legion on the right was being squeezed by the redemption charge of the Beastman Redemption Corps and the First Dragon Legion, and the Dragon Group’s Caster Corps had started stepping out of the city actively, providing support for the Dragon Group’s warriors and casting meteor-like spell attacks on the Beastman Legions.

Behind was the vast tide of the dead, continuously impacting the Beastman formation, while the Heavy Cavalry on the left, led by the Centaur monsters, was repeatedly attacking from the outer perimeter, peeling back the layers and slicing through the Beastman Army.

They were already surrounded. Once the space for the Beastmen to move was compressed, their numerical advantage would vanish, and they would be slowly slaughtered, one by one, by the Giant Dragons and Flying Dragon Riders in the sky.

Now, to reverse the chaotic decline, they could only throw everything they had into a forward assault. Their assault would lead tens of thousands of Beastmen from their main formation against merely thousands of the Heavy Armor Corps.

”Stabilize the line, defend and counterattack, then push out, push out, no retreat,” Beastman Prince Gahn stood under the Royal Banner of the Beastmen, shouting for all the Order Officers to relay his commands.

Although the Steel Knights led by Chiron had smashed through the first few waves with unstoppable momentum, it also gave Beastman Prince Gahn time to reorganize the army formation.

Those still by Beastman Prince Gahn’s side were his direct elite forces. Despite the repeated impacts from the steel torrent, they didn’t collapse but instead began to steady the line gradually.

Against a far larger enemy army, no matter how strong the cavalry, they couldn’t charge directly into the core of the army. When cavalry, heavily surrounded, lost their momentum, they lost their most threatening power.

”Attack, attack, cut down their Royal Banner, even if flesh melts away, the soul shall ever return to the Holy Hall!” Centaur Chiron wielded the Long Saber, flashing like thunder and lightning, leading the Heavy Armor Cavalry in repeated assaults on the rear of the Beastman main formation.

As the assaults grew increasingly difficult, the steel-forged cavalry began to suffer damage. Their Iron Armor could withstand the penetration of arrows, but not the combined assaults from the Caster Corps and the entire Beastman army formation.

One by one, the Steel Knights fell on the path of the charge, their unyielding souls lingering in their bodies, unwilling to leave, refusing even the summons from the Giant Dragon Hall.

Their will, under the light poured out by the Giant Dragon Hall, surprisingly gained a substantial force, their spiritual remains within the dead bodies igniting, igniting their loyal souls.

With this as their strength, their bodies stood up once more, launching one final charge.

”Even if our flesh falls and our souls fade into eternal silence, the will shall endure, as we wish our will to shine in this world ruled by our king, brighter than gold!”
