Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 350: Chapter 136: First Day (Part 2)

Boom,

The rocks on the cliffs on both sides exploded, and large chunks of rock collapsed. Several green-skinned gunners screamed as they fell into the sea along with their artillery.

A few dragon-hunting crossbows shot directly through the distant giant demon crossbowmen who didn’t have time to dodge, with forceful momentum continuing into the forest.

The sea was already littered with countless bodies and fragments of ships. Several two-masted gunships were teetering, seawater gushing through cracks into the hull. Dozens of surviving beastman soldiers jumped into the sea in despair, but quickly turned into floating corpses.

These bodies belonged to various races, some were giant dragon soldiers, but most were Shahua fishmen.

The massive fleet on the ocean surface was assaulting the coastal defense systems, while battles were simultaneously occurring underwater.

Numerous sunken ships blocked the harbor’s landing entrance, and Shahua fishmen, riding sharks, dove to the seabed, tying sturdy ropes to the rams and firm railings of the sunken ships, fastening the other end to enormous shark sea monsters.

Under the baron’s command, many strong Shahua fishman warriors also grasped the ropes, slowly pulling these sunken ships to be dealt with in the deep sea beyond the harbor.

But in the dark depths of the harbor, amidst the shadowy sunken ships, a young white dragon over ten meters long appeared, its ferocious fangs gleaming coldly. Its long tail swayed, rushing out from the sunken ships, biting several Shahua fishmen into halves with one snap.

Blood tainted the clear seawater red, body parts floated to the surface, while other angry Shahua fishmen tried to besiege this wretched white dragon, which then swayed its head and burrowed into the dense wreck of sunken ships, dodging shots from dragon-hunting crossbows on the covering ships.

”Damn it, these wretched white worms, get up there, get more of them up there,”

The Shahua fishman baron waved his four arms, commanding the remaining fishmen to reinforce.

These fishmen initially chased the white dragon into the sunken ship wreckage, yet within the wreck lay not only one young white dragon but also a juvenile and two adolescent white dragons.

Even under the enslavement contract by Blue Dragon Akzhi, these dragons dared not confront the massive fleet head-on, but they could still ambush fishmen while hiding in the sunken ruins.

White dragons, though the weakest among the five-color dragons, are also the finest hunters.

The nearby battlefield was even more intense; though the stubborn castle posed little threat to the fleet, it was slowly depleting the beastman’s firepower and morale.

Moreover, to cover the fishmen underwater, the massive fleet had no choice but to move closer to the coast, suffering hits from the coastal defense systems.

Countless fishmen, riding sharks, drove waves against the sturdy castle. Shahua fishmen vaulted from below the sea, attempting to climb the castle’s first-floor windowsills, but were met by glaring green-eyed jackal wolfman soldiers waiting in ambush.

The ever-growing mass of these jackal wolfman soldiers, fierce and bloodthirsty, loyal to the dragon group, called themselves ’Gogomola’s Claws’.

Unlike the battle-hungry centaur warriors who called themselves ’Gogomola’s Spear’ but didn’t enjoy starting wars, these jackal wolfmen reveled in bloodshed to please their masters.

Against these Shahua fishmen, lacking even armor, the armored, long-saber-wielding jackal wolfman warriors were like invincible war gods.

The Shahua fishmen were nothing but grotesque lumps of flesh, immediately sliced in half by a flash of sword light upon entering the castle.

Some Shahua fishmen didn’t even have time to scream warnings or let out excited howls before their ugly heads rolled onto the first floor of the castle hall, their pungent blood gradually pooling and flowing.

”Go around, go around, swing to the harbor behind the castle, attack from the castle’s main gate,”

Echoes of the Shahua fishman baron’s roar resonated on the sea surface. He commanded countless fishmen to swim from the seabed around the castle’s reefs, intending to breach the castle via its main gate.

But as these Shahua fishmen emerged from the sea, they were greeted by the ferocious heads of giant dragons and the scorching dragon fire.

Whoosh... Boom,

Hiding in the harbor at the back of the castle, Red Dragon Kedelos crawled on the castle, head lowered, his claws on the wings firmly grasping the fortress, with blazing dragon fire igniting from his chest and abdomen, spewing from his throat.

Destructive dragon fire, guided by the young red dragon’s shaking head, ignited the whole ocean surface. Many Shahua fishmen didn’t even have time to scream in agony before being incinerated to charred masses by the red dragon’s breath.

The surface layers of the sea were also heated to boiling by the young red dragon’s dragon fire, with Shahua fishmen’s bodies emerging and sinking with the waves.

”Oh, you scum, dare to challenge the dragon’s majesty, I’ll turn you all into ash,”

The young red dragon roared amidst the thunder and artillery boom, the destructive release giving the red dragon immense pleasure.

Woo... Woo...

On the distant rumbling battlefield came a dull horn and a piercing horn signal, ships on the sea turning their sails, retreating to distant waters.

The Shahua fishmen, ceasing their crazed assaults underwater, rode sharks, ebbing with the waves, leaving only floating corpses on the sea surface.
