Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 315: Chapter 115: The Old Year Has Passed (2)

”This gathering is not only for the annual celebration or the dragon group’s banquet, but also a time to fulfill the promises made to the Dragon Group,”

Karon sat high on the throne, his majestic head scanning each giant dragon as he spoke: ”I once promised to turn the lush forests into the granary of the Dragon Group, to make the vast grasslands the pastures of the Dragon Group, and I have done so.”

”I also promised to bring you back to our territory and return to our homeland, even if through difficulties, and I have fulfilled this as well,”

”I further promised to establish a civilization belonging to the Giant Dragons here, to develop the Dragon Group into a powerful dragon group, and this has also taken shape,”

”And now, it is time to fulfill another of my promises,” Karon’s sturdy dragon claw slightly curled, gently tapping on the Black Stone Throne, producing a deep sound.

One by one, Dogman Guards carried treasure chests full of gold coins and gemstones into the deep and lofty castle hall with effort.

”According to the agreement of the Dragon Group, each year, rewards are given to the giant dragons based on their contributions and merits to the Dragon Group, and punishments are given to those who have harmed the Dragon Group. More work yields more rewards, less work yields fewer rewards,”

Karon’s dignified vertical pupils swept over each giant dragon, saying: ”Therefore, Gomot receives the most rewards, followed by Akzhi, then came Doss and Rosani, Antajena, Kleyna, then Alina and Alfred, with Camid ranking last.”

”So, does anyone have a different opinion?” Karon’s deep and powerful voice echoed through the castle hall, calmly meeting the gaze of every giant dragon.

No dragon had any objections, not even the White Dragon Camid, who was closest to Karon, received extra treasure due to their relationship, which appeared quite fair to the other dragons in the group.

Red Copper Dragon Alfred and Bronze Dragon Alina were quite surprised; they hadn’t known there was such an agreement in the Dragon Group, which was very remarkable to these already gradually familiar Metal Dragons.

Even the most generous Metal Dragon leader would not part with even a Silver Coin from their treasure vault to another companion; there is a stark difference between the distribution of spoils and this,”

More so for the leaders in the Five-Color Dragon family who hold supreme positions, as these leaders merely exploit members of the Dragon Group, albeit to a different extent compared to their beloveds.

This deepened the sense of belonging for the two Metal Dragons to the Dragon Group; for treasures, they would grow to love the Dragon Group.

White Dragon Camid scratched the bump on his neck, feeling a bit embarrassed. He thought receiving the least wealth was somewhat disgraceful for a dragon.

For even in this unique dragon group, vanity and a desire to compete, which are rooted in every creature, still existed.

Seeing no dragons objected, Karon nodded, allowing the castle guards to deliver the treasure chests to their respective owners.

The treasure chests in front of White Dragon Gomot were the most numerous; he lowered his head contentedly, sniffing among the chests of gold coins and gemstones, intoxicated by the gleaming allure.

White Dragon Camid, clutching his treasure chest, began meticulously counting with his slender claws, continuing until he reached three thousand, then contentedly resting his head on the glistening gold coins.

All members were savoring the moment of harvest, which made the achievement of their previous efforts even more fulfilling.

”Very well, I have fulfilled my promises to you, and now it is time for you to respond to my promises,”

Karon’s massive body resembled steel forging and stone carving, with scale armor cold and imposing, casting a dragon’s shadow.

His broad head silently moved forward, slightly leaning off the high Black Stone Throne, creating an exceptionally strong sense of aggression and oppression before the other giant dragons.

”Our territory is gradually prospering and thriving, our populace is steadily increasing, and our strength is growing day by day, but that is not the goal I seek satisfaction from,”

Karon’s vertical pupils quietly lit up, the burning flame leaping in his pupils, he flaunted his especially long fangs, each word echoed in the ears of the dragon group.

”I will create an unprecedentedly mighty civilization, which shall be the fulcrum of my power and will be the long step you climb up the ladder of power,”

”When I wake from my adolescent slumber, I will formally establish a kingdom belonging to the Giant Dragons and will clear all obstacles surrounding the territory, conquering all lands in sight.”

With the words of the Red Dragon, laden with strong aggression, falling, the hall lit up with the cold indifferent beast-like vertical pupils, and even the sufficiently bright magic crystal lamps and the blazing fire core couldn’t obscure the gaze of the dragon group.

Their dragon blood gradually boiled, the blood of the evil dragon for destruction and conquest also stirred.

”But that is not my goal either, that far from satisfies me. I will explore the wider skies, broader lands, deeper seas until they transform into my nourishment, helping me ascend to the peak!”

”And your response to me should be not to slacken. I only hope that you will forever stand by my side, sharing the same goal as I, and strive for it!”

Karon ceased his speech, calmly waiting for the response from the dragon group members.

”It is as it should be; since our hatchling days, we are thus! Karon,” Blue Dragon Doss was the first to respond, although the Blue Dragon couldn’t help but extend a dragon claw to touch the gradually fading scratch of the single horn on his forehead.
