Beneath the Red Dragon

Chapter 321: Chapter 117: I Could, But I Don’t Like It (2)

The Young Red Dragon Kedelos was quite shocked.

His massive mouth gaped wide enough to fit a whole sheep.

It is known that dragons do not enjoy delving into knowledge and seldom explore the inheritances in their minds. This is partly because dragons are lazy, believing the power bestowed by their own bloodline is sufficient.

Yet another crucial reason, known to all dragons, is the constant disturbance from the desires embedded in their dragon bloodline, making it hard for them to calm their spirits.

It’s similar to the desires driven by hormonal surges experienced by teenage humans, manifesting frequently in fantasies during classroom hours.

The disturbances from the dragon bloodline exceed the hormonal influences on humans many times over.

”I can follow your orders, but I demand a position within the Dragon Group in the future, and I hope you can teach me the method to control dragon blood. This is my condition for obeying orders.”

The Young Red Dragon Kedelos attempted to negotiate, but the initiative was not in his hands.

”Oh,” the Blue Dragon Akzhi quietly retracted his head, looking down proudly at the young red dragon. He said, ”You are not worthy, Kedelos. Were it not for your kinship with the most noble King among the Dragon Group, you might have long been drained of your Evil Dragon True Blood.”

”Making contributions to the Dragon Group is the way to gain true freedom and rights. This is the King’s promise to you!”

”For now, just be the war beast of the Dragon Group and complete your task!”

The young red dragon thought for a long while before he nodded in agreement. ”I just hope that the Dragon Group, unlike me, can keep your promises!”

The Blue Dragon Akzhi disdained to answer such a question. He merely recited a spell, passed down by Karon in Dragon Language, releasing the magical restraints on the young red dragon. The red chains sprang off the young red dragon, and the shackles on his limbs automatically opened.

”Hey, why not also take off this iron ring from my neck? Are you afraid you can’t suppress me alone?” The Young Red Dragon Kedelos grumbled, spewing two flames from his mouth, hitting the gates of the Giant Dragon Treasure Vault.

The youthful red dragon possessed significant power variation but often wielded the destructive force of the Saint Tier. The strongest could even rival the strength of legends.

Though Kedelos was not among the strongest batch, dealing with a newly elevated Saint Tier wolfman elder, like the one the Dragon Descendant Werewolf Saha slew, would be just a matter of a few slaps for this young red dragon.

This is why dragons cannot be measured by ordinary standards; their destructive power far exceeds the standard measurement of life level.

Even at the same level, there is a world of difference.

To suppress or defeat this young red dragon, apart from Karon, the Dragon Group would need several dragons or an army of hundreds, equipped with dragon-hunting crossbows, giant crossbows with magic, and armor-piercing bows and arrows.

But the adolescent Blue Dragon Akzhi just laughed coldly, ”That’s a symbol of your identity. As for when we need to suppress you, Kedelos, you’d better pray you can tame that magma-filled, easily overheated mind of yours, otherwise, there will be a dragon to teach you what it means that beyond every dragon, there is a greater dragon, beyond every sky, a greater sky!”

”Hurry up, we still need to find another dragon with a crime,” the Blue Dragon Akzhi clawed at the rocks, lightly flapping his wings, soaring into the sky.

”Rare freedom,” the young red dragon stretched his body, also spreading his wide wings, shooting towards the sky, a loud roar echoing through the mountains, the roar of the young red dragon’s release of anger.

...

Blue-haired Carlette, dressed in coarse linen, leaned quietly against the Tree of Life in Bay Stream City, her subtly sweat-dampened forehead indicating that this seemingly young girl was not at ease.

The men and women around kept their distance from this seemingly proud and aloof young woman.

This young woman’s strength surpasses that of grown men, doing more work than two adult men, and she is quite attractive, seemingly the target every man would pursue.

But after the fifteenth man who attempted to flirt with her was punched and had his eye swollen, no man tried to approach this girl again.

And the women rejected this girl’s chilly demeanor, even when maintaining her elegant figure while others were drenched in sweat. Only the kind little girl Nora could easily approach this young woman.

The construction of Bay Stream City, unlike the city beneath the Dragon Nest, requires first building the outer defenses, then the structures within, so many people rested around the Tree of Life at this time.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh,

Two dragons descended from the sky, a blue dragon and a red dragon, their massive presence causing the residents resting nearby to quietly disperse, away from the dragons’ landing point.

”A new red dragon? When did the Giant Dragon Lords gain a new member,” the people who had seen Karon whispered, watching the two landing dragons with curious eyes.

”This red dragon doesn’t look impressive, lacks the majesty and beauty of the Flame-Wielding King, looks like a downtrodden wild dragon seeking refuge with the Dragon Group,” a woman whispered.

The gradually deepening scale color of the young red dragon indeed seemed less splendid than the scales of the Red Dragon Monarch in the eyes of these residents. The young red dragon, having faced the beatings of the outside world, was no longer as arrogant as before, leaving the people unimpressed.
