Chapter 596: Chapter 250 Choices (2 in 1 Mega Chapter)

For a moment, Rein felt as if he were enveloped by some strange energy.

At this moment, he was able to clearly see the movements of the nearby fish people and the few Blood Curse Nagas that had surrounded him, but they, in turn, couldn’t see him.

The fish people’s bubble eyes were staring in confusion, utterly at a loss.

And the Blood Curse Nagas were also stunned for a moment!

But soon, as high-intelligence beings like humans, they quickly realized that the man must have used some form of witchcraft.

Without hesitation or delay, Rein swiftly made his way down the stone staircase of the cave, taking advantage of about a minute of invisibility.

The stone steps, arranged in strips, wound around the edge of the circular cavern, spiraling down.

The stair surfaces were light bluish-green and covered with a fair amount of moss, suggesting a rather ancient history.

As Rein rapidly reached the bottom, the interior of the entire cavern came into view.

He discovered that a fierce battle seemed to have taken place here long ago.

The evidence was the normally constructed passageway of bluish-green stone slabs which had been shattered by some tremendous force. At this point, the whole passageway was broken and collapsed, including several Doric-style columns around it that had also fragmented and fallen to the side.

Next to the original passage, there was a newly dug hole about four or five meters in diameter.

Following the dark tunnel seemed to lead somewhere within the ruins.

Rein noticed that inside this newly dug tunnel, the walls were haphazardly embedded with pearls and Glowstones of various sizes, which emitted a faint luminescence.

However, for Rein, the presence or absence of illumination didn’t make much of a difference; with Dark Vision, he saw everything clearly.

About several dozen meters away, he could make out the faint shadows of humanoid creatures flickering.

From the large size of their figures, they seemed to be male Blood Curse Nagas patrolling with their beasts.

This was consistent with what Vinica had previously detected using a seagull.

However, just then, a rustling sound, like that of a giant serpent crawling, came from behind Rein.

Clearly, it must be those Blood Curse Nagas from the beach coming down to inspect.

Rein scanned the surroundings and promptly spotted a shattered column wide enough to embrace ahead, which afforded a perfect hiding spot.

With a swift motion, Rein ducked into this alcove.

After the sound of the ‘rustling’ of the Blood Curse Nagas and the ‘patter’ of the fish people’s footsteps went back and forth twice, finally, the entrance to the passage became quiet again.

It seemed that they had given up the search for him.

But the Blood Curse Nagas were not dumb, it was very possible that they had intensified their guard within the passage.

To this, Rein was indifferent.

He glanced at the system prompt, and seeing the golden lettering caught his eye, he paused, then looked more closely.

The system prompt read as follows:

[Your Giant Bear Sword Technique skill has progressed, Experience +912]

[Your Tokkal Hammer Technique skill has progressed, Experience +1919]

[You have experienced a battle, Weapon Master (Legendary) Experience +1109]

(Note: The above skill experience has enjoyed a 30% increase due to the exclusive talent ‘Beginner Extraordinary Understanding.’)

[Congratulations, you have defeated a formidable enemy and gained 1 Golden Skill Point!]

…

[Congratulations, your Weapon Master (Legendary) Profession Level has increased!]

Weapon Master (Legendary) Profession Level has been raised by one level to lv7 (331/5000).

This also granted Rein another attribute point and one Skill Point.

He now had 14 remaining attribute points and 2 remaining Skill Points.

What delighted Rein even more was that the battle had brought him 1 Golden Skill Point, bringing his total Golden Skill Points to 2.

The use of Golden Skill Points was critical, for instance, they could be used to upgrade to a secret technique.

The thought of this sent a surge of excitement through Rein.

At that moment, when he looked up again towards the faint and towering figures in the dark tunnel, his eyes shone with anticipation…

“If I could kill him completely, I wonder how many Golden Skill Points I could get?”

Nevertheless, Rein had not forgotten his rescue mission.

Calming his emotions, he once again took out the Sensing Stone from his pocket and noticed that its brightness had increased by a notch from before.

He knew it was not due to the dimness of the cave.

A few steps forward, Rein could feel a slight increase in brightness, indicating that he was getting closer to the target, Alyosha.

Since the tunnel often reverberated with roars from large ferocious sea beasts, and occasionally the chatter of fish people, the cave was not quiet; noises were constant.

This created favorable conditions for Rein’s stealthy infiltration.

Even if he encountered patrolling fish people midway, as long as he kept the noise of the combat down, it would not attract a swarm of the Sea Clan.

Moreover, Rein found that this long tunnel was not dug in a straight line but with a significant curve; basically, it was impossible to see further in from thirty to forty meters away.

—————–

On the coast’s defensive line.

When Vinica and a group of the giant shield crossbowmen saw those four or five Blood Curse Nagas who had charged into the cave coming out again, they couldn’t help but exchange bewildered looks!

In their minds, they couldn’t help but wonder: “Has Lord Rein perished, or has he survived?”

And the twin-tailed girl, who cared deeply for Rein, at that moment felt her heart tremble, and her face turned pale!
