Chapter 570: Chapter 243: Emergency Incident (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

Huh?

This is quite humane.

Rein nodded his head.

In the short term, if he could stay in Minster while earning medals and Merit Points, that would certainly be the best option.

Rein himself had had this idea as well.

After all, if it were just a bronze-level task that took half a month or even longer outside, then his planned training program within the shareholder department would be impacted.

“Do you have any materials related to the security mission you just mentioned?”

“Yes, my Lord.” The young female clerk nodded.

“By the way, my Lord, do you need me to introduce you to the divisions of the various districts within Minster?”

Rein shook his head, as he was aware of it.

That day, he and Vinica had walked around the main road, and had basically understood the division of districts in Minster.

The whole of Minster was built against the mountain, from top to bottom were the administrative district, the church district, the nobility district, and then the upper city district, which was also known as the rich district.

Beneath the upper city district were the trade district and the workshop district, which were located in the middle of the city.

Beneath that were the most lower-lying civilian districts, which were the largest in area, taking up more than sixty percent of the entire Minster.

The civilian districts encircled the bottom of the city, divided into five rings: civilian first ring district, civilian second ring district, civilian third ring district, civilian fourth ring district, and civilian fifth ring district.

There was no sixth ring…

The lower one lived, it was understood, the lower their status.

As for beyond the fifth ring, one would step beyond Minster’s towering city walls into the many small town areas directly governed by Minster.

“My Lord, the information regarding the consultant mission has already been displayed on the wisdom slate, you might want to take a look.”

“Alright.” Rein nodded his head, and began to quickly peruse it again.

…

“Consultant Mission—Security Advisor to Minster’s Upper City District. Mainly responsible for responding to distress calls from the district assigned and handling special incidents or emergencies that occur in the Upper City District.”

“Mission requirements: During the one-month tenure, immediately proceed to address a distress call received from the assigned district. Mission rewards: One bronze medal, 200 Merit Points.”

“(Note: If the efficiency and difficulty of handling exceed expectations, the rewards will scale up.)”

“(Note: This mission is only open to members who have joined the Sword Bearers for less than two years.)”

….

He read through the document quickly.

Rein found that the consultant missions were mostly similar in content, albeit tailoring to the varying administrative regions.

He flipped the page further.

It was the security advisor for some small town outside Minster City—these were the most numerous.

“Lord Reine, my advice is that you could choose to serve in the upper city district. Ordinarily, there are only two or three consultant slots per city district, so you are very lucky to encounter a vacancy in the Upper City District.”

“Of course, this is also because you are a noble coming to take up a consultancy mission.”

“The security situation in the Upper City District should be rather good, right?” Rein asked.

“Yes, the last noble to serve there was lucky enough to not encounter a single special incident for an entire month, easily completing their consultancy mission.” The young clerk said with a beaming smile.

“My Lord, I will then…””

“Assign me to the trade district.”

“Huh? What did you say?” The young woman stared at Rein in astonishment, her round eyes filled with surprise.

“I choose the trade district.”

“This… very well, my Lord.” The young woman quickly recovered, glanced at Rein, not looking as if he were joking, and immediately began the process.

Clearly, as the rich district, the upper city district was supposed to have the best security situation, much less likely to face issues than the trade district or the civilian districts below it.

But Rein’s choice of the trade district was based on his own considerations.

One reason was because the consultancy mission was clearly marked that if the efficiency and difficulty of handling exceeded expectations, the rewards would scale up.

Rein naturally did not want to settle for just the basic rewards.

A single bronze medal…

That was just too little.

On the other hand, it was because the new residence and shop that Jenny and Agatha had found were located in the trade district.

If his consultancy was in the trade district, some matters would be more conveniently managed.

“All done, my Lord. Soon, the administrative office of the trade district will receive the letter, and you can just await notification.”

“My Lord, I need to remind you that although the consultancy mission is targeted at newly appointed nobles, during the execution of specific tasks, you might occasionally encounter enemies whose strength surpasses what you can handle.”

“Therefore, please be very cautious while executing the tasks.”

“Alright, thank you.” Rein nodded with a smile, then got up and left.

….

A few days later.

In the administrative office of the trade district, the security officer’s office.

Baron Graham, nearly forty years old, leaned back in a wide and soft goatskin chair, his small belly slightly protruding, and at first glance, it was hard to tell that he was a seasoned knight.

He looked at the information before him and couldn’t help but sigh.

The content of the information was simple.

At the top was a portrait of a handsome young man, and below it were written Rein’s name, title, age, and level of strength—just a few pieces of information.

As for other contents, there were none.

As a member of the Empire’s special department, confidentiality of related information was something Graham understood well.

Former Sword Bearers who had come for consultancy shared the same limited information.

But even with just these few details, he was taken aback!

“Sixteen years old, Great Knight…”

“Truly a genius… What was I doing at sixteen? Had I reached the second level as a knight’s attendant?”
