Chapter 580: Chapter 246 Sudden Change (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)

If it weren’t for the disappearance of the ancient giant troll tusks, causing an extremely subtle fluctuation in the atmosphere, Rein would not have detected the other party.

Clearly, the other party was very skilled at concealing their presence.

“Such keen perception, Lord Rein, I apologize for the intrusion.”

“I am Hammis from the Yakesen Commerce Group, may I have the honor of meeting with you, Lord Rein?” A soft male voice came from outside the door.

Rein looked at the tusks that had now turned into powder and couldn’t help but laugh to himself, thinking, what difference does a meeting make? Even if I wanted to give you the tusks now, I couldn’t.

However, listening to him couldn’t hurt to see what he intended.

“Come in!” Rein said aloud.

The door was gently opened, and a thin but rugged man in leather armor walked in, his narrow eyes giving off the impression of a snake’s stare.

This man, named Hammis, bowed slightly and said, “Lord Rein, I am here on behalf of Viscount Fabien, the head of the Münster Axon Auction House, to extend his greetings to you.”

“Mr. Hammis, please state your purpose,” Rein said as he scrutinized the man up and down.

The short dagger at the man’s waist seemed to indicate he was an assassin.

“Lord Rein, the reason for my visit is to request that you sell to us the tusks you’ve obtained from the natives. The auction house values them highly,” he said.

Rein waved his hand, saying, “Mr. Hammis, I am sorry, but I don’t have any tusks here.”

He wasn’t lying.

Although they had existed seconds ago, now turned into powder, naturally, there were no tusks left.

Hammis, staring at Rein’s unemotionally steady gaze, was momentarily stunned!

What? Could it be that he’s telling the truth?

But that couldn’t be possible!

Just when he arrived nearby, he had sensed that subtle fluctuation, and having tracked these tusks for so long, it should not have been a mistake.

After a moment’s thought, Hammis’s expression turned serious as he solemnly said, “Lord Rein, though you are the honored Imperial Sword Bearer, perhaps you are not aware that the Yakesen Auction House has more influence than you might expect.”

“Viscount Fabien is just a figure fronting them, and by taking this stand, you are offending more than just a viscount, which is unwise.”

“Oh? Mr. Hammis, are you threatening me?” Rein chuckled.

“Do you know how much I detest being threatened? Besides, even if I had the tusks you refer to, according to the Empire’s War Spoils Distribution Act, they would belong to me, right?”

“Or is the Yakesen Auction House trying to challenge this well-established imperial stipulation? Perhaps, I should spread this issue within the Sword Bearers Branch.”

“This…” Hammis momentarily didn’t know what to say.

Oh, damn it!

If it weren’t for those idiots in Asani’s caravan thinking they had already reached Mingster and letting their guard down, allowing this native to escape, none of these problems would have arisen!

Before coming here, he had examined the native’s injuries, knowing that this young Lord Rein was no simple character, and moreover, he was someone of sensitive identity.

If it wasn’t necessary, he would prefer not to confront him.

“Lord Rein, let me speak plainly. These tusks are very important to the Yakesen Auction House, specifically requested by a Marquis. If you still intend to keep your position, please don’t regret it?”

“I really don’t have tusks here. If you don’t believe me, you can check.” Rein spread his hands out.

Then, Rein voluntarily emptied everything from his pouch.

“I can swear to this by the goddess!” Rein said emphatically.

He had known beforehand that the Yakesen Auction House was reputed to have a profound backing, so the better he could bluff his way through, the better.

Additionally, he was indeed telling the truth.

The tusks had already turned into bone powder; if they wanted powder, that might still be negotiable.

Want the tusks? Then there’s nothing to be done….Rein thought to himself.

Hammis, observing Rein’s clear and serious eyes, as well as his unhesitant manner in swearing, became confused.

Such clear eyes didn’t seem to be those of a liar….

Hammis then examined again the scattered items from Rein’s pouch, and there were no tusks in it.

The tusks, being long and white, should have been easy to find.

He looked around Rein’s room, which was simply decorated and seemed to have no place to hide anything.

There was some powdery substance on the floor….

But that was probably just the cleaning not done thoroughly by the servants….

“Very well….It seems highly likely that I was mistaken, my deepest apologies! I hope you won’t mind my intrusion, Lord Rein,” Hammis bowed deeply.

“Of course not,” Rein waved his hand and replied.

Hammis bowed again and quickly turned to leave.

After watching Hammis leave, Rein began to ponder thoughtfully.

It seems these ancient giant troll tusks must be rare, otherwise, certain people from the Yakesen Auction House wouldn’t be so persistent.

Perhaps, after returning to the Sword Bearers Branch, he should look up some relevant information.

Thinking this over, Rein then shifted his focus back to the information on his class transfer.

This legendary class transfer also resulted in an overall increase in all attributes, especially boosting his Spirit by 3 points.

Rein flipped to the attributes page on his system panel:
