Chapter 576: Chapter 245: Change of Profession! Beast Priest (Legendary)! (Combined Double Chapter)

Rein couldn’t help but recall the abilities that the native had just displayed; it was a sort of ability that absorbed the life force, or rather, the vitality of wild beasts to recover their own, a nearly sorcerous power.

Another ability seemed to be commanding the surrounding wild beasts to attack the enemy.

The two abilities that the opponent had just showcased made a deep impression on him.

Although they both seemed like sorcery, Rein could feel the difference between them and the sorcery of the Black Flame Church was quite substantial.

Moreover, there were two particularly unique aspects about this time’s class change prompt.

The first was that it did not mention the need to worship a certain deity.

This seemed to indirectly validate Rein’s earlier guess that the opponent’s ability was not sorcery.

Secondly, the class change required the consumption of what was called Ancient Giant Troll’s fangs, which was different from previous class changes.

Could it be that this power is closely related to these fangs?

Otherwise, why would changing class to a Beast Priest (Legendary) require the consumption of these Ancient Giant Troll fangs?

Although based on his judgment, changing class to a Beast Priest (Legendary) seemed to have no issues, Rein still felt hesitant about whether to change class or not.

After all, the Beast Tamer had another subsequent promotion path—Beast Master (Legendary)—which should be coming soon; once his black steed evolved into a savage beast, he would have two promotion paths to choose from.

After thinking it over, Rein decided to first go outside.

So, he stuffed the pair of white fangs into his waist pouch.

….

Outside the warehouse.

“Good! Graham, I always thought you were a wimp, but it turns out you’ve got guts!” Barnes exclaimed, praising Graham as he saw the latter’s slightly paunchy figure charging into the fray alongside himself.

However, just as the two were about to lead the Night Watchmen into the warehouse, suddenly, they saw someone emerging from inside.

Immediately, everyone became alert and prepared for battle.

“Bang!”

The already broken doors collapsed entirely at that moment.

What appeared in their sight was a young and tall figure, dragging the body of a native and walking out of the warehouse unhurriedly.

Rein also hadn’t expected to run into Graham, Barnes, and the others coming to provide support just as he stepped out of the warehouse.

“Fuck! Are all the new Sword Bearers this monstrous?”

Barnes was unmistakably shocked to see the native who had gravely injured him being dragged out like a dead dog by Rein.

Having exchanged blows himself, he naturally knew the strength of his adversary.

Considering the opponent’s ability to control wild beasts in combat, their overall strength was comparable to that of a seasoned Great Knight, even slightly stronger.

As for the ability to draw upon Beastly Vitality.

Barnes had yet to experience that…

Perhaps, in the native’s eyes, dealing with him didn’t require using that power.

“Lord Reine, your task as a temporary appointee would at least merit a Bronze Medal evaluation!” Barnes said enviously, gesturing a large ‘three’ with his fingers as he looked at the native at Rein’s feet.

To say he wasn’t envious would be a lie.

Fighting tooth and nail was all for getting a better mission evaluation, thus securing more resources.

“Oh? An evaluation worth three Bronze Medals?” Rein’s eyebrows shot up, a hint of joy on his face.

This was something he was not entirely aware of.

He only knew that mission evaluations would vary based on certain actual factors but hadn’t expected they could double.

Moreover, Rein wasn’t too bothered by Barnes’s initial arrogance followed by deference.

Because he had seen that despite his injuries, Barnes had been ready to charge into the warehouse with Graham to support him. Actions and courage alone proved a lot.

“Yes, the enemy possesses at least the strength of a seasoned Great Knight, and Lord Rein, you dealt with the situation very efficiently, finishing within less than half an hour without allowing the adversary to cause greater casualties and losses. Taking all these factors into account, an evaluation of three Bronze Medals is inescapable.”

“Of course, that’s after the final temporary task is over, and it’s all….”

Barnes said as if reading from a book.

Rein nodded.

The possibility of receiving an evaluation of three Bronze Medals for merely dealing with a sudden event was an unexpected pleasure!

Of course, he couldn’t receive this evaluation right now.

He would have to wait for a month, until the term of the temporary task was up, for a consolidated settlement.

After all, if any urgent situation arose during the subsequent period and he managed to handle it successfully again, the reward could naturally continue to rise.

“Lord Reine, we really relied on you this time, otherwise the Empire’s Sword Bearers would have lost face,” Barnes said, a pained look on his face.

During the fight, Barnes could still bear the pain, but now that he let out his breath, his wounds seemed to worsen.

“Right, Lord Barnes, looking at your wounds that continue to bleed, it would be best to get them treated immediately,” Graham, the security officer of the trade district, quickly joined the conversation.

“This time, I owe a lot to both of your interventions, or else…” Graham started in gratitude.

“Ah, shameful! Don’t thank me, thank Lord Reine!” Barnes waved his hand and said, “I can’t hold on any longer; the enemy’s attacks were somewhat strange, I need to go back to the Sword Bearers Branch to see a physician.”

“Quick! You guys, take Lord Barnes to the Sword Bearers Branch,” Graham ordered, gesturing for his subordinates to hastily help Barnes onto a carriage.
