Chapter 581: Chapter 246 Sudden Change (Two in One Large Chapter)_2

Constitution: 32

Strength: 31

Agility: 32

Spirit: 39

Remaining attribute points: 12

Remaining Skill Points: 0

After this job change, all attributes had exceeded the significant milestone of thirty points, but at the moment, Rein was more focused on the three core skills he had just gained as a Beast Priest (Legendary).

He wondered if the effects of these skills were as he had imagined before.

Rein, full of anticipation, turned to the Beast Priest (Legendary) page, only to find that the original Beast Tamer (Transcendent) panel had disappeared and been replaced by the Beast Priest (Legendary) profession panel.

The entire panel was flickering with the same special blue light as the Weapon Master (Legendary).

This was distinctly different from the green light of the previous Beast Tamer (Transcendent) professional panel.

Rein quickly found the three new icons with flickering borders at the top of the panel.

The first icon featured a miniature photo of his current three pets: a hawk, a dog, and a horse, with a line of small text in the bottom right corner:

[Beastly Vitality lv1 (passive): As a Beast Priest inherited from ancient trolls, you naturally have the ability to draw on the vitality of your contracted pets, thus enhancing your own physical constitution and resistance.]

(Note: At lv1, only one pet effect can be obtained.)

(Note: This skill has a distance limit; it is only effective when the pet is near you, and the effective distance is proportional to the Spirit Attribute.)

Huh?

This is…

After pondering briefly, Rein’s face broke into a smile!

When he focused his attention on the core skill ‘Beastly Vitality,’ images of his three pets’ ‘headshots’ swiftly surfaced in his mind.

“Is it asking me to choose?”

“Then… let’s go with the greyhound battle dog ‘Cookie’; implement the effect!”

Upon Rein’s confirmation,

he immediately felt a mysterious, invisible link form between him and the greyhound battle dog Cookie, followed by a strange energy transferring to him.

Rein felt somewhat different.

A new prompt message appeared quietly:

The host has received the buff effect [Dog’s Agility], agility increased by 3 points.

…

“Dog’s Agility?”

“Agility increased by 3 points?”

Rein’s eyes brightened, and he immediately checked his own attribute bar; indeed, agility had changed to 32 (+3).

“Dog’s Agility? That must be the buff from Cookie. A nearly ten percent increase in agility, not bad!” Rein said, raising his eyebrows in delight.

Just didn’t know about the others…

So, Rein tried selecting the black horse’s effect next.

Instantly, he felt a mysterious link form between him and the black horse, followed by a sensation of energy completely different from that which he had felt from the greyhound battle dog, flowing into him.

Meanwhile, the mysterious connection he had with the greyhound battle dog ‘Cookie’ was severed!

At the same time, two new prompt messages appeared:

The host has received the buff effect [Horse’s Endurance], constitution increased by 1 point.

The [Dog’s Agility] effect has disappeared.

…

“Is it really as the skill described, that at lv1 you can only maintain one buff effect?”

“It’s a pity that there are no new Skill Points right now; otherwise, I could try to level up ‘Beastly Vitality’ to lv2 and see if I can maintain two buff effects.”

“If that’s possible, it would be incredible!”

“Hmm?”

Something seemed to click, and Rein’s eyes widened suddenly!

“Why just add one point?”

“The ‘Dog’s Agility’ just now increased my agility by three points, so why did the black horse only add one point to constitution?”

“Could it be that this type of buff effect is linked to the pet’s own strength? Because the black horse has not stepped into the realm of ferocious beasts, does it only provide a minor effect on constitution?”

After thinking for a while, Rein figured his guess was probably accurate.

After contemplation, Rein tried the effect of Blood Feather.

A new system prompt appeared:

The host has received the buff effect [Horned Owl Beast’s Strength], strength increased by 2 points.

The [Horse’s Endurance] effect has disappeared.

…

“Ha!”

“Strength from the Horned Owl Beast?”

“Impressive!”

After comparing three different types of buff effects, Rein silently nodded to himself, concluding that they likely originated from his pets.

Hence, the pet’s own strength was crucial. Despite Blood Feather still being a fledgling, it provided a stronger buff effect than the larger black horse due to this reason.

“It seems that next time, I should seek to contract pets that are ferocious beasts with some special ability…”

“Perhaps that will yield unexpectedly powerful buff effects…” Rein thought.

The second icon, however, featured the image of a human hand pressed atop the head of a crouching fierce beast, with the following line of small text in the bottom right corner:

[Beastly Energy lv1 (active): As a Beast Priest inherited from ancient trolls, you can rapidly extract the life force and energy of a beast or contracted pet to heal your wounds and restore energy.]

(Note: Only one beast or contracted pet can be subjected to this effect at a time, and the maximum amount must not exceed thirty percent of the target’s life force limit.)

(Note: Extracting from a beast will expose you to the negative effects of the beast’s spirit, but contracted pets will not.)

“Is this the healing ability that native used?”

Rein’s eyes lit up.

But upon seeing the description of ‘the negative effects of the beast’s spirit,’ he became pensive.

It appeared that the native’s eyes had red bloodshot veins, and they were quite agitated…

Was it caused by this negative effect?

Seems like I’ll need to find a beast to test it on….
