Chapter 555: Chapter 239: Exchange Conditions for Metal-based Witchcraft (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

“I’m sorry, my lord, but according to the rules, it’s forbidden,” the young girl said apologetically.

Rein nodded.

He had just thought of another problem. From a blacksmithing perspective, the crafting processes for edged and blunt weapons are different. One of the most significant differences is that edged weapons generally have to be quenched multiple times to strengthen the surface.

The manufacturing process for blunt weapons, however, is different.

So, in that case, even if Witchcraft’s “Metal Morphing Spell” could transform a Warhammer into a greatsword, would the sharpness of the greatsword be affected?

Looking at it this way, perhaps he would have to find some special metal in the future that did not require the quenching process so that he could switch between blunt and sharp weapons.

However, the specifics would only become clear after he acquired the Witchcraft.

The exchange price is one golden medal plus 5500 Merit Points?

“Right, could you help me check how many Merit Points I have now?” asked Rein again.

Because Rein had heard from Calum in the morning that if one had previously served in an official department, the Merit Points would be transferable, and fortunately, this was always true for Rein.

“Of course, please wait a moment,” she said.

Soon the young girl reported a number: “2736 points!”

“Huh?” Rein was taken aback, the number was much higher than he had anticipated.

“My lord, you have a record of collaborative combat with the Imperial Navy recently, which includes two deposits of Merit Points,” the girl offered, seeing the puzzlement in Rein’s heart.

Rein nodded.

Indeed, the Imperial Navy was reliable, but… it’s possible that most of the credit goes to Major Marika.

“Thank you, I have no further questions.”

“You are welcome, my lord,” the girl said, rising again to bow as she saw Rein off.

Checking the time, Rein headed for the newcomer building’s hall.

He was short on Merit Points, but the bigger problem was the mission evaluation medals.

He would have to find time in the next few days to go to the mission hall to see if he should take on a few Bronze-level missions first.

…

Two o’clock in the afternoon.

Sword Holder Mingster Branch, newcomer building hall.

Rein found that in addition to Calum, there were six or seven middle-aged people with steady auras who had come to the hall that afternoon. Some wore Knight Armor, some held short staves and wore Wizard robes, and others were dressed as Archers, etc.

Even with Rein’s spiritual power, he couldn’t judge the strength of these individuals at the moment, but clearly, they were to be their mentors for the special training, each boasting considerable might.

When everyone had arrived, Calum looked around and said, “When your name is called, step forward.”

“Firstly, the individuals under the instruction of Mentor Kurman, Rein, Jonas….”

Upon hearing his name, Rein immediately stepped out from the crowd and, directed by an Attendant, approached a robust man in Knight platemail who was carrying a Two-Handed Warhammer.

The Warhammer-wielding man was looking through a stack of papers, carefully scrutinizing them, and the first one seemed to be Rein’s report. With a puzzled look, he raised his head to size up Rein and asked, “You are Rein?”

“Yes, Mentor Kurman,” Rein nodded and said.

“Hmm, your report states that you were rated ‘excellent’ in all aspects during your preliminary trial assessment. None of the five examiners offered any suggestions on which areas you needed to improve, which makes it difficult for me to judge,” Kurman stated earnestly.

“So, I need to spar with you, and then we’ll see… which area you might need to enhance further?” Kurman suggested seriously.

So that was it, the request seemed reasonable…

Immediately, Rein nodded straightforwardly and said, “Of course!”
