Chapter 560: Chapter 241: Special Approval (2-in-1 Large Chapter)

“Any other questions?” Instructor Kurman glanced at the time, intending to end the class.

&#”Instructor, you mentioned a loan earlier; which department should we go to if we want to apply for one?” a young man asked, raising his hand.

His question reflected the concerns of many.

After all, even those previously employed in the imperial administrative departments might not have accumulated many Merit Points.

Money is always tight, isn’t it?

“The place is on the first floor of the administrative building in the Empowerment Enhancement Department. As for the specific amounts, they vary according to each individual’s potential and situation; you can go there and inquire….”

“Okay, thank you, Instructor.”

Empowerment Enhancement Department?

The name sounded quite appealing.

Just wondered if the interest rates were high… Rein thought to himself.

However, after Kurman’s first general knowledge class, Rein did not immediately head to the so-called Empowerment Enhancement Department—essentially the loan department. Instead, he returned to the Sword Bearers Branch’s exchange hall.

“Hello, sir, how may I assist you?” A charming female clerk greeted Rein as he approached, getting up and bowing.

“Please check the price of a potent Strength potion for me.” This time, having learned from experience, Rein handed over his bronze badge even before the young lady could say anything.

“Yes, sir. Please wait a moment.” The female clerk respectfully took it with both hands.

“Hmm!”

“I’ve found it, sir, the exchange price is 150 Merit Points.” The girl quickly flipped through a thick book and crisply reported.

“Hmm, what about the potent Constitution potion and the potent Agility potion?”

“Please wait a moment, I’ll check for you right now.”

“I’ve found them, sir. Please look at the wisdom tablet.” Since Rein inquired about several items, the girl displayed the relevant information directly on the black stone tablet in front of him.

On the black stone tablet appeared several lines of small white text:

“Potent Constitution Potion: A training aid potion, which after consumption for half a month, will enhance the consumer’s Constitution to some extent, varying by individual, generally about ten percent. Exchange price: 180 Merit Points per bottle.

(Note: Produced by the Royal Alchemist Association’s Mingster Province Branch; guaranteed high quality.)”

“Potent Agility Potion: A training aid potion, which after consumption for half a month, will enhance the consumer’s Agility to some extent, varying by individual, generally about ten percent. Exchange price: 160 Merit Points per bottle.

(Note: Produced by the Royal Alchemist Association’s Mingster Province Branch; guaranteed high quality.)”

…

Guaranteed high quality, huh?

But the prices are really not cheap….

“Sir, which one would you like to exchange?” the girl asked.

“Not in a rush, by the way, I wanted to ask, how much is the fee for using the Torrent Room?” Rein waved his hand, asking further.

This time he mainly came to check the prices, not necessarily to exchange urgently, since he believed in spending his Merit Points wisely, and they weren’t just blown in by the wind.

“Are you referring to the Torrent Room used for training? It is charged by the hour, and you should check with the training area’s Torrent Room for specific fees, but according to past rules…”

“The Torrent Room usage fee is 5 Merit Points per hour, and the fee for the advanced Torrent Room is 15 Merit Points per hour.” The girl looked up the information on a nearby piece of paper, answering Rein’s question enthusiastically.

After all, this information was common knowledge within the Sword Bearers Branch, and the relevant rules were easy to find.

“Thank you. Also, I wanted to ask about the price for exchanging a Mist Compound?” Rein nodded.

“Huh? Sir, are you asking about the Mist Compound?” The girl looked at Rein with some surprise in her wide eyes.

From his stature and build, this young sir was clearly a powerful Knight, hardly the sort to look like a Wizard Apprentice aiming for promotion.

Through frequent exposure, the girl certainly knew what the Mist Compound was used for.

“Yes.”

“Alright, sir.” The girl smiled sweetly.

“Sir, the exchange price is 1 golden medal plus 2000 Merit Points.”

Upon hearing this, Rein immediately furrowed his brows.

Really expensive….

“What about the fire type, defensive level-one witchcraft?”

“According to your credentials, I found two items, sir. Please look at the wisdom tablet.” After saying this, the information refreshed on the black stone tablet in front of Rein with several more lines of white text:

“Resistance Fire Ring: Level-one witchcraft, consumes a certain amount of spiritual power, uses a specific witchcraft model to manipulate surrounding fire energy particles, enshrouding the Caster in a fiery ring. When attacked, the ring ejects flames outward, knocking back enemies.

Exchange price: 2 golden medals plus 4500 Merit Points.

Source: Provided by the Seth School.”

“Flame Shield: Level-one witchcraft, consumes a certain amount of spiritual power, uses a specific witchcraft model to manipulate surrounding fire energy particles, encircling the Caster with three constantly spinning flame shields. The Flame Shield provides good defense against both physical and energy attacks.

Exchange price: 2 golden medals plus 4000 Merit Points.

Source: Provided by the Charles School.”

Rein carefully reviewed the two items listed.

However, his current focus was on the exchange prices.

Yes, they were mostly the same price; he couldn’t escape the two golden medals.

So, including the Mist Compound, that would require at least three golden medals.

If he also factored in the Metal Morphing Spell he had always wanted, that would make four golden medals….
