Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 294: Chapter 257: Don’t Even Think About Messing with Me, Lu Li—Or Your Whole Family Will Be Wiped Out!

Lu Li just answered the call.

It seemed Gu Wei in front also noticed the situation.

His face was livid as he continuously typed messages over there.

Clearly handling this issue.

Lu Li didn’t concern himself with how Gu Wei was dealing with it, and said into the phone, ”Mom, is there something you need?”

His mom’s tone was somewhat horrifying, ”Son, someone told me, are you that so-called Ancestor Person?”

Lu Li feigned bewilderment and said, ”Ancestor Person? What Ancestor Person? Don’t you know what your son can do? Ancestor Person sounds like nonsense!”

This couldn’t be admitted just yet.

At least not at this stage.

Otherwise, the impact would be too significant.

Upon hearing this, his mom became suspicious, ”You’re really not the Ancestor Person? Then why are people saying it’s all over the internet?”

Lu Li pretended to be relaxed and said with a tone of nonchalance, ”The internet is full of falsehoods, you know that, right? People just have too much time on their hands and are making stuff up.”

His mom was a bit angry, ”These people are too much, slandering you as the Ancestor Person? That’s a merciless demon, my son is not like that, humph, watch me go scold them.”

”No, no, that’s useless,” Lu Li said rationally, ”I’ll handle this, don’t worry, and please tell my dad and relatives not to believe the rumors.”

His mom said, ”Got it, won’t believe the rumors.”

Lu Li comforted his mother with a couple more words before hanging up the phone.

Right after hanging up, he immediately said to Gu Wei in the front row, ”Old Gu, find some people to secretly protect my parents. They must be elites, got it?”

Gu Wei replied, ”Okay, I’ll find some people right away. Oh, and don’t worry about this, I’ve already had someone delete the posts.”

Lu Li: ”...”

He was speechless, ”Isn’t deleting the posts just a cover-up? No need to delete, I’ll show my face in front of the camera later, and the rumors will naturally collapse.”

Gu Wei was stunned and turned around, ”Showing your face in front of the camera will naturally solve it?”

Obviously, Gu Wei didn’t understand how Lu Li intended to resolve the issue.

Lu Li didn’t explain to Gu Wei.

Solving this problem wasn’t difficult for him.

The only issue now was ensuring the safety of the people around him.

Lest the remnants of the Jalisco Group sneak into Huaxia and retaliate.

To be honest, Lu Li didn’t mind exposing his true identity.

Eventually, it would have to happen.

He just didn’t want to expose himself without being fully prepared.

As he was thinking, calls kept coming in.

The fallout and severe impact of rumors about him being the Ancestor Person were far greater than anyone could imagine.

Especially since ”Decryption Little Prince” leaked it so suddenly, without any buffer time.

Such a sudden revelation, combined with the Ancestor Person’s recent upheaval in Mexico, was bound to create tremendous impact.

Ring, ring.

First, it was Qin Liang, who had dealings with him, calling.

”Hello, Mr. Lu, this is Qin Liang.”

Qin Liang’s tone was filled with some helplessness.

Lu Li absentmindedly replied, ”President Qin.”

Qin Liang noticed the tone and said, ”Regarding the online talk about you being the Ancestor Person, I just received the news. Has your daily life been affected? In ordinary times, this can be big or small, but right now, it’s critical.”

He didn’t ask if Lu Li was the Ancestor Person, having essentially accepted the online rumors.

Qin Liang accepting the rumors was understandable, as he had witnessed Lu Li’s extraordinary abilities several times.

Lu Li understood what the other party meant.

He was merely pointing out that the actions taken by the Ancestor Person in Mexico were too severe.

Even if he indeed was the Ancestor Person, he couldn’t admit it for now.

He smiled and asked, ”Has it affected your business?”

Qin Liang pondered for a moment and said, ”Not too much, just the part about you being our ambassador, I need to put that on hold for now. You understand why, right? If I don’t, Mexico might trace back and hold us accountable, implicating us a bit, but it’s okay, you remain our company’s ambassador. Once this blows over, I’ll continue to include you in the promotional ads. As for the compensation we agreed upon, not a cent will be missing.”

Lu Li replied, ”Yes, having me appear in your company’s promotional ads isn’t a good idea now. It’s fine, you can just cut my parts, I don’t really enjoy being in the limelight anyway. As for the compensation, you don’t need to pay me, I’m not short on money.”

Qin Liang insisted, ”Hey, that’s not how it works, we signed a contract, and you represented my company at the Nathan Hot Dog Challenge in the Ugly Country. How could I not pay due to a little issue? Besides, I’m not discarding your promotional videos, just temporarily keeping a low profile to see the public reaction, and once it passes, we’ll use them as planned.”

Lu Li knew the other side wished to curry favor with him, but he wasn’t without conscience.

Whatever reason Qin Liang had, he’d been good to him.

How could he drag him down?

He thought and said, ”President Qin, the impact of this matter is enormous. If you insist on not severing ties with me, your business, and possibly your father’s too, could be implicated. Not cooperating doesn’t mean there is no goodwill, what kind of relationship do we have? Contracts aren’t needed to bind us.”

Qin Liang got anxious, ”Mr. Lu, that’s unfair. Indeed, contracts are contracts, but our camaraderie is apparent. If I end the agreement when you’re in trouble, can I still call myself a man? What would my friends and employees think of me? I’m not that kind of person. Let’s keep the contract, I’ll pay you the due compensation. I appreciate your concern, but these are merely unsupported allegations. If you firmly deny it, nobody can be certain you’re the Ancestor Person. Please don’t bring this up again. I truly have no issue.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Li stopped being coy, ”Alright, once I handle my current matters, let’s find time to meet up and have some drinks.”

Qin Liang said, ”Sure, I’ll try reaching out and get some connections to suppress the matter for you.”

Though the issue could be suppressed, it would also serve as a cover-up, reinforcing belief in him being the Ancestor Person.

Lu Li already had plans to prove he wasn’t the Ancestor Person, so naturally, he didn’t agree to this.

Whatever happened, receiving Qin Liang’s call today and knowing he was determined to stand with him was sufficient.

Then, another call came in.

It’s just not my own phone, but Gu Wei’s phone.

Lu Li’s powerful hearing immediately caught the content inside the call.

On the other end was the voice of an elderly man.

Very familiar, as if often heard on television.

The elderly man spoke in a calm but authoritative tone, ”Xiaogu, I asked you to work with Mr. Lu because I wanted you to handle everything well for him. Now that such a big issue has arisen, if you can’t handle it properly, you’d better write a resignation letter, and I’ll find someone else to take over.”

Gu Wei said helplessly, ”Got it, I will definitely handle it well.”

The elderly man added, ”If you can’t handle it, it’s not just you. Those under you... you know what to do, right?”

Gu Wei said bitterly, ”I understand.”

The elderly man said, ”Alright, I have many matters to attend to. Send my regards to Mr. Lu.”

After speaking, the phone was abruptly hung up.

Although the content that the elderly man spoke of was all related to Gu Wei, Lu Li could immediately tell that it wasn’t just about these matters.

There must be someone pressuring the elderly man on the other side to personally address it.

Lu Li estimated that although the matter had just surfaced domestically, it must have reached the international level, thus triggering some issues.

He had just finished listening to Gu Wei’s phone conversation.

Lu Li’s phone then received several consecutive calls.

For instance, calls from Longda Machinery’s owner Peng Erping, Liu Xiuming, Chen Man Ni, and others.

Even Liu Yeli and Liu Ke Ping, who were about to board a flight back to the Ugly Country, called to ask if help was needed.

Of course, Liu Kexin inevitably also called to express concern.

One could say that everyone Lu Li knew was alarmed.

This showed that the issue had already caused a major stir, probably sending the outside world into uproar.

Lu Li knew this was very tricky.

If not handled properly, not only would he no longer have peace in the future.

He feared his parents and relatives, friends, and others would have their lives disrupted.

”The fact that the outside world knows I’m an ancestor’s person is nothing.” Lu Li mused, ”The real issue is that I haven’t completely intimidated those with ill intentions. If I can intimidate them, making those outsiders dare not act rashly, then exposure is just exposure.”

The reason he could be sure that he hadn’t thoroughly intimidated those with malicious intent.

Was entirely because from the previous ”Decryption Little Prince” videos, he learned that someone was fueling the flames behind the scenes.

Lu Li intended to create a sensation to thoroughly intimidate those lurking in the shadows.

But the problem was, he had no legitimate grounds to make such a sensation.

Unless someone provoked him.

Then Lu Li could naturally create some huge drama to completely intimidate the world.

While contemplating, his phone rang again.

Lu Li looked down and saw an unfamiliar number.

He was a bit puzzled, thinking it might be a marketing call, and didn’t bother answering.

But this call was persistent.

The first call didn’t go through.

The second call came in immediately.

Lu Li figured someone must have a reason to contact him, so he pressed the answer button.

Upon connecting, a young man’s voice came through, ”Hello Mr. Lu, someone asked me to pass on a message to you.”

Lu Li immediately changed his pupils’ composition, tracking where the electromagnetic wave originated, while saying, ”What message?”

The young man said, ”The person said they can help you solve the current problem, and it will no longer occur in the future.”

Lu Li chuckled, ”And the precondition is?”

The young man said, ”The precondition is that you provide a blood sample for research.”

Ha!

As expected, just as I suspected, they want to study my secret!

Lu Li roughly understood why the other party did this.

No surprise, they knew normal violent means were useless against him.

While running rampant in Mexico, Lu Li was in disguise.

So they thought he wouldn’t dare reveal his identity.

Thinking they could use this method to coerce him into giving a blood sample.

Such soft tactics could indeed be fatal for someone truly afraid to expose their identity.

Unfortunately, Lu Li wasn’t afraid of exposing his identity at all.

He just didn’t want his family, relatives, and friends, to be implicated.

He squinted his eyes and responded to the other side, ”You, too, pass on a message for me, tell the person behind you, not only will I not provide a blood sample, but in fifteen days, I will completely eradicate him and all his kin, just like the Jalisco Group, from this world!”

Yes, Lu Li could have completely deceived the other side, pretending to give a blood sample, and then seized the opportunity to find out where the other side was located.

This method would be the simplest.

But he chose not to do so.

The reason being that Lu Li this time was stirred not just with a murderous intent so simple.

Lu Li wanted to do something sensational, thoroughly intimidating any of the two hundred-plus countries globally harboring ill intentions towards him!

He wanted to use real action to tell the whole world, don’t have any designs on me, Lu Li, or else I will annihilate your entire clan!
