Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 269: Chapter 244: Perpetual Motion War Machine

Diamond Home, second floor.

Main bedroom, Liu Kexin is sitting in front of the computer handling company matters.

Knock, knock knock, the door is tapped.

Liu Ke Ping’s voice comes from outside, ”Kexin, are you asleep?”

”No, the door’s not closed.”

Liu Kexin replies without even lifting her head, her fingers still tapping on the computer.

Creak, the door is pushed open.

Liu Ke Ping leans against the door frame, seemingly casually saying, ”Can you tell me about Lu Li?”

At these words, Liu Kexin pauses, thinking Liu Ke Ping might want to gather information about Lu Li from her and see if he can find a way to break through.

She continues looking at the computer screen, frowning slightly, and says, ”I’m busy, no time.”

Liu Ke Ping persists, asking on his own, ”Does Lu Li seem to have some amazing aspects usually?”

Liu Kexin simply doesn’t respond anymore.

Liu Ke Ping waits a moment without hearing a reply from his sister, so he clarifies his intention, ”Kexin, have a good talk with your brother, maybe I can persuade Dad for you. If you say nothing, I won’t know how to praise Lu Li, how can I plead for you then?”

”Are you sure you want to plead for me?”

Liu Kexin swivels her chair, looking at him expressionlessly, ”Or are you just gathering information?”

Liu Ke Ping blinks, ”Don’t you know anything?”

Liu Kexin is baffled by this question, ”Know what?”

Since Liu Ke Ping came over.

And Father Liu called.

Liu Kexin has been feeling quite stifled.

Besides diligently dealing with company matters every day,

she spends the rest of the time watching her phone, waiting for Lu Li to message.

But Lu Li seems to have disappeared, with no movement at all.

This makes her involuntarily worried.

How can she focus on anything else?

Therefore, Liu Kexin truly has no idea what’s happened in Mexico.

So she instinctively grows tense, wondering if Liu Ke Ping has discovered some bad news.

Like Lu Li being in trouble?

”It’s nothing.” Liu Ke Ping finally doesn’t mention the events in Mexico; he just honestly says, ”You should know I’ve cared about you the most since childhood. This time, I really mean no harm. Talk to me about Lu Li, like his strengths. I’ll have a good chat with Dad and try to convince him to agree to your relationship with Lu Li, alright?”

Liu Kexin stares at Liu Ke Ping’s face for a long time.

Making sure he is indeed sincere.

She slowly says, ”Okay, I’ll tell you a bit...”

She summarizes her understanding of Lu Li to her brother.

Liu Kexin’s understanding of Lu Li is also limited.

She merely knows what he likes to eat.

His usual personality.

And that he is a martial arts expert.

Otherwise, she knows nothing.

Yet, she had felt before that Lu Li was not as simple as he seemed, always curious about him.

So, while divulging information about Lu Li to Liu Ke Ping,

Liu Kexin’s mind is constantly pondering what the real Lu Li is like.

A moment later, Liu Kexin finishes speaking.

Liu Ke Ping asks with a peculiar look, ”Is this all you know?”

Liu Kexin truthfully responds, ”Yes, is there a problem? Or have you learned some of Lu Li’s... unknown secrets?”

Liu Ke Ping ambiguously replies, ”Perhaps.”

Liu Kexin widens her eyes, ”Tell me about it.”

Liu Ke Ping shakes his head, ”It’s not convenient to say now, maybe you’ll find out soon enough.”

Liu Kexin: ”???”

She is genuinely confused by these words.

Could it be Lu Li is doing something big?

Will it soon become widely talked about?

...

Mexico, hotel.

Lu Li returned after sweeping the Jalisco Group’s Southern Kyushu.

He initially wanted to take the opportunity to wipe out more Jalisco strongholds.

But he encountered some issues and had to go back to the hotel first.

Sitting on a chair by the window, Lu Li investigates his own condition with suspicion, ”Why do I feel like I’m growing rapidly?”

This feeling didn’t just appear now.

In fact, when he learned about the Jalisco Group provoking him back in his home country, he already sensed something was off.

Since he was in a state of anger, his evolution speed seemed to accelerate.

Only that without taking action before, the feeling wasn’t very strong.

However, when he flew twelve thousand kilometers with rage, the evolution speed was particularly fast.

Especially today when sweeping through Southern Kyushu, he had a satisfying feeling of vengeance, with various hormones in his body keeping balanced while significantly increasing in secretion, causing rapid body evolution.

For instance now, Lu Li vaguely feels that sustaining his body’s operation is almost barely supported by energy.

This kind of situation usually only appears when on the verge of deep evolution.

Lu Li thought for a moment and understood why.

He had previously discovered that growth hormone is the key to evolution.

However, merely stimulating the secretion of growth hormone might disrupt the body’s balance, leading to flawed evolution.

After obliterating the Jalisco Group’s base in the Southern Kyushu today, he felt a ”sense of physical and mental pleasure,” which balanced and coordinated the secretion of various hormones in his body.

Therefore, the speed of evolution greatly increased.

As the saying goes, happiness invigorates the spirit.

Scientific studies show that when people are happy, they secrete hormones like dopamine, endorphins, and thyroxine.

In fact, hormone secretion is only part of the reason.

The main thing is that happiness excites and inhibits the nerves.

When people are happy, the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain increases, blood flow is smooth, subcutaneous blood vessels dilate, and blood flow to the skin makes people look radiant and gives a refreshed feeling.

In simple terms, when a person is in a happy mood, bodily functions are in good condition.

This is also why optimistic people tend to live longer.

Lu Li roughly understood that the feeling of exuberance made his bodily functions reach an unprecedented good state, hence the rapid increase in evolution speed.

”According to the reactions from my body, it seems I’m about to enter the fourth deep evolution.”

Lu Li knew it wasn’t an illusion.

Because Little Golden Man conveyed the information.

Informing him that he is developing a peculiar superpower.

Hinting that he shouldn’t act recklessly in the next couple of days.

And this peculiar superpower was already partially developed.

Lu Li could feel its effect.

Energy absorption!

True energy absorption!

Lu Li clearly perceived that he was absorbing energy from various forms of light.

This might seem similar to absorbing free energy from the air, but it is an entirely different situation.

What is known as absorbing free energy from the air is actually absorbing various particles to synthesize high-energy compounds, providing energy for oneself.

Now, it’s genuine energy absorption, without the process of converting to high-energy compounds.

It’s as if all kinds of light, radio waves, and elements directly turn into energy and are absorbed.

”Previously, my body couldn’t directly absorb energy for use. For example, I couldn’t absorb electrical energy into my body. Even various elemental particles had to be synthesized into high-energy compounds before being absorbed into energy light. Now I can directly absorb energy?”

Lu Li seemed to guess something.

If there’s no accident, the energy needed for the fourth deep evolution might be immense.

The energy converted from high-energy compounds may no longer meet the required amount for evolution.

Therefore, the body evolved to automatically adopt the superpower of direct energy absorption.

”It seems that I can now directly absorb electrical energy and the like to quickly replenish myself with enough energy.”

Lu Li couldn’t help feeling interested, considering whether to try absorbing electrical energy,

Just after sweeping through the Jalisco Group’s base in Southern Kyushu, expending a lot of energy, actively absorbing energy would be relatively easy to observe.

For safety’s sake, Lu Li didn’t directly absorb energy from an outlet but removed the battery from the TV remote control in the room and held both ends with his fingers, indicating that he was actively absorbing electrical energy.

The next moment, a magical thing happened.

Lu Li clearly felt the tips of his fingers absorbing direct current into his body, then converting it into energy light!

”Oh, so it’s still conversion, but this time it’s direct energy-to-energy conversion, not high-energy compound conversion.”

This energy-to-energy conversion is a bit like an electric bulb converting electrical energy into light energy and heat energy.

Except I’m converting electrical energy into energy light, not light energy and heat energy.

The key to energy conversion lies in his skin and muscles, which are the two main organs.

Lu Li deduced that he couldn’t directly absorb all forms of energy.

Or rather, too violent energy.

If it exceeds the speed at which his skin and muscles convert it to energy light,

It won’t only be impossible to absorb the energy, but could also harm the body.

For instance, the energy from a nuclear explosion is too vast to absorb.

”Analyzing the current situation, once my energy absorption superpower is fully developed, wouldn’t I, to some extent, already have the ability to survive in space?”

Mere energy absorption might not enable space survival.

After all, if the body isn’t strong enough, it could still quickly perish due to imbalances in internal and external pressure and the vacuum environment.

Lu Li estimated that completing his fourth deep evolution should allow him to survive in cosmic space.

He felt quite happy about this, but now there’s a problem.

He needs one to two days to fully develop the direct energy absorption superpower.

What should he do about the Jalisco Group?

If he doesn’t appear, will they continue to massacre civilians?

Lu Li pondered, took out his phone, and searched the internet.

Soon, a strange expression appeared on his face, ”The Jalisco Group actually challenged me to a duel?”

This isn’t just giving me time to fully develop the direct energy absorption superpower!

Once I’ve mastered this ability, in battle, as long as the consumption isn’t too excessive, the energy could be nearly inexhaustible, turning me into a perpetual motion machine-like war machine.

Without hesitation, Lu Li dialed Zhou Jinming’s number.

Instructing him to find a way to publicly respond, expressing willingness to accept the Jalisco Group’s challenge!

After the call, Lu Li couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh, ”In two days, I’ll show you what terror means!”
