Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 289: Chapter 262: Fourth Deep Evolution, Round 4

At around eight o’clock in the morning, Lu Li sat in the Audi car sent by Gu Wei, heading south all the way.

Today is a very important day for him, as it is related to whether he can successfully enter the fourth deep evolution.

Lu Li had previously speculated that if he could smoothly complete the fourth deep evolution, perhaps he might truly reach the state of ”perfect fusion of form and spirit.”

Why is he so obsessed with ”perfect fusion of form and spirit”?

The main reason is that Lu Li had read some Daoist scriptures before.

According to descriptions in some Daoist scriptures.

The perfect fusion of form and spirit is a very advanced realm.

Advanced enough to allow a person to ascend to the realm of ”deities.”

The ”Encyclopedia of Chinese Daoism” interprets the meaning of ”perfect fusion of form and spirit, united with the Dao” as: ”Upon achieving the Golden Core, transcend to true enlightenment, a vision of harmonizing with the Dao. Once united with the Dao, the physical body will remain forever with life as long as heaven and earth.”

Yes, once reaching this realm, one can be united with the Dao.

The physical body remains intact while the spirit is immortal.

Lifespan increases dramatically to be as eternal as heaven and earth.

As eternal as heaven and earth, what an enticing concept.

Evolution, although different from cultivation, shares some similarities in theory.

Therefore, Lu Li is immensely curious to know, when he achieves the perfect fusion of form and spirit, will it be like the Daoist scriptures describe, achieving unity with the Dao, and even becoming truly eternal.

”What kind of miraculous realm is united with the Dao?”

Lu Li couldn’t help but indulge in fanciful thinking.

”Will it allow me to shatter the void as described in the Daoist scriptures?”

Thinking to this point, his thoughts extended to his parents and Liu Kexin.

”If I truly ascend in broad daylight, what will happen to Mom and Dad, and Liu Kexin?”

As soon as he thought of his parents and Liu Kexin.

Lu Li couldn’t help but recall yesterday’s events.

Yesterday, besides accompanying his parents to Shanghai to view villas.

In the evening, he also arranged dinner with Liu Kexin, Liu Ke Ping, and Liu Yeli.

Because of prior communication, the Liu Family father and son helped to put on a show, dispelling Lu Li’s parents’ doubts.

Moreover, Lu Li felt that during dinner last night, Liu Kexin had a rather peculiar look in her eyes when she looked at him.

He used telepathic induction to explore the other’s inner thoughts, only to find with some helplessness that Liu Kexin knew his identity, and her emotions were somewhat chaotic.

Lu Li understood Liu Kexin’s mindset, if he were an ordinary person and discovered his girlfriend could unleash power comparable to a nuclear bomb, he’d also indulge in wild thoughts.

He really wanted to have a good talk with her, but since both sets of parents were present, some topics were inconvenient to discuss.

As he was contemplating, Gu Wei in the passenger seat turned his head and smilingly asked: ”Mr. Lu, you should have had fun during your trip to Mexico, right?”

Lu Li woke from his deep thoughts, blinked his eyes, and looked forward, helplessly saying: ”Old Gu, can you just speak directly with me? Stop beating around the bush every time.”

Gu Wei glanced at the young driver, then showed a serious expression, ”I want to ask a favor from you.”

Lu Li said: ”Speak.”

Gu Wei cautiously said: ”Regarding your true identity, could you please try not to let the outside world know? It’s not that I want to restrict anything, but you should be aware that if ordinary people learn about your affairs, it could cause panic.”

”Just this?” Lu Li said with a wry smile: ”Even if you don’t mention it, I would try to keep my identity secret.”

Gu Wei exhaled in relief, saying: ”That’s good, that’s good.”

Lu Li pursed his lips, why would he casually disclose his identity? Truly seeking extra noise?

If he exposed his identity, he believed, it would certainly lead to many unnecessary troubles, just as he had previously speculated.

For example, gaining many ”fans,” and many ”enemies.”

Fans are easy to understand.

Worshipping strength is a gene engraved in the bones of humans.

When someone learns that he is a ”superhuman,” admiration is normal.

As for enemies, he is currently wanted worldwide.

Once identity is exposed, even if there is no bounty, certainly many skeptical individuals would try to step over his name to ”rise up.”

Although Lu Li fears no one in the world, if it truly came to that, peace would cease to exist.

Currently, he spends days charming women.

With enough money to enjoy life.

His little days are living too pleasantly.

He doesn’t want to be interrupted.

Speaking of money, Lu Li recalled that he extinguished the Jalisco Group, gaining a huge fortune.

Not to mention, the Jalisco Group is quite wealthy.

A portion exists in the form of anonymous accounts in the Swiss Bank.

This is quite convenient for deposits and withdrawals, approximately five hundred million US Dollars.

Of course, cash is not limited to this.

But others require identification.

Lu Li had eliminated Oseguera.

How could he possibly produce identification?

So these large sums of cash are temporarily inaccessible.

However, the Jalisco Group’s wealth is far more extensive.

There is another portion of assets existing in the form of antiques, jewelry, gold, etc.

When he eliminated various bases of the Jalisco Group, it was inconvenient to carry them, so he buried them somewhere.

Hidden quite secretly, average people are unlikely to find the burial sites.

Lu Li is busy with the fourth deep evolution and has no time to deal with these antiques, jewelry, and gold.

He plans to wait until evolution is completed to go to Mexico through normal channels to convert those items into cash.

...

During idle chat with Gu Wei.

The two arrived at Zapu Town.

The car slowly parked in front of the power plant.

Lu Li felt somewhat puzzled and said: ”Old Gu, will our visit to Jiaxing Power Plant affect ordinary people’s electricity usage?”

Gu Wei chuckled and said, ”No worries, the power plant has energy storage. You just need two days, it’s no big deal.”

Lu Li was quite amazed by this. As he pushed the car door open and got out, he curiously asked, ”Can unused electricity really be stored?”

Gu Wei replied, ”Of course, with today’s advanced technology, there are several ways to store electrical energy.”

He briefly explained how electric energy is stored.

After listening, Lu Li realized that there are generally three ways to store electricity at a power plant.

The first is battery storage, which is very common and straightforward.

The second is pumped water storage, which is quite interesting. The electric energy generated by the power station is used to pump water from a lower reservoir to a higher one, and when needed, water turbines channel it back to the lower reservoir to generate electricity.

The last method is compressed air storage, where the electric energy is used to compress air and store it in containers. When electricity is needed, the compressed air is released through an expander to drive a turbine generator and produce electricity.

Gu Wei finished introducing the methods.

The two of them had already walked inside the power plant.

Gu Wei glanced at the people waiting ahead and casually said, ”They have an independent storage station here, which can store up to 1.1 million kilowatts of electricity at a time. If there’s not enough power, they can let the storage station supply, so you can use it boldly and with confidence.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Li was reassured and no longer felt guilty.

Afterward, he and Gu Wei acquainted themselves with the leaders of the power plant.

After the introductions, the people at the power plant took Lu Li to the transmission section.

They also mentioned that they had already prepared a line for him to receive electric energy.

This line carries high-voltage electricity, which needs to pass through a step-down transformer before it can be used for civil purposes.

Lu Li checked the voltage and estimated it to be around 2,000 volts, something he could fully handle.

He then asked the power plant staff to leave, leaving him alone inside, and instructed them not to disturb him no matter what happened over the next two days.

...

Lu Li tightly grasped the two transmission lines.

He continually absorbed the high-voltage electricity from within.

Electric power was directly absorbed and transformed into energy light rays.

In just a short while, Lu Li felt he had absorbed enough energy to sustain his body for a day.

He felt invigorated, thinking to himself, ”Indeed, charging at a power plant is the right choice. If I were to rely on my own accumulation, who knows how long it would take to gather enough energy for a deep evolution.”

If it were a natural accumulation, the body itself would consume energy, perhaps taking a year or two to gather enough.

Based on his current rate of absorbing electrical energy into energy light rays, Lu Li estimated that he would need to absorb a full day’s worth of electricity to gather enough energy for his fourth deep evolution.

It could be said that by directly absorbing electrical energy from the power plant, he at least saved himself one or two years’ time.

Thinking of this, Lu Li couldn’t help but sigh, ”No wonder in various xianxia novels, the protagonists need rare magical resources; that’s exactly the case.”

He cast aside the distractions in his mind and wholeheartedly absorbed electricity.

Gradually, the amount of energy light rays within him accumulated more and more.

Ten percent...

Twenty percent...

Thirty percent...

A few hours passed.

Lu Li felt he had accumulated thirty percent of the energy light rays needed for his fourth deep evolution.

Of course, this was his subjective judgment; whether it was accurate or not remained to be proven.

Time ticked away, minute by minute.

Three hours...

Five hours...

Finally, twelve hours had passed.

Suddenly, as Lu Li felt a surge of energy throughout his body, a strange drowsiness set in.

There was no need to even say what was happening.

It must be time for the fourth deep evolution!

Lu Li hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly.

He slowly let go of the power lines.

Lu Li walked over to turn off the switch.

During this period, he made some calculations.

Today, he absorbed a massive fifteen million degrees worth of electrical energy, comparable to the energy released in a nuclear explosion.

Lu Li was a bit surprised that with such a tremendous amount of energy accumulated in his body, nothing happened?

He faintly sensed something extraordinary; this time, his deep evolution would truly reach a realm beyond normal imagination.

At this moment, although Lu Li was extremely tired, he knew he couldn’t sleep here.

Otherwise, who knows if Gu Wei might take advantage of his unconsciousness to draw his blood or something.

Drawing blood might be difficult since his skin and muscle defenses weren’t easily broken, but pulling a strand of hair would be quite simple.

Lu Li definitely didn’t want to be ”cloned.”

Thinking this, he forced himself to stay awake.

He went outside and greeted Gu Wei.

Then he flew off with a whoosh.

Yes, traveling by car was too slow.

Lu Li only wanted to evolve quickly and wouldn’t waste any time.

...

After flying for about three to four minutes.

Although Su City was just ahead, Lu Li was really too tired to endure any longer.

He knew he couldn’t push it anymore, or something might go wrong.

Thinking this, he descended wildly towards the ground.

The area was a small grove.

It seemed quite deserted.

Lu Li quickly found a large tree and took out his phone to send a voice message and his coordinates to Liu Kexin, asking her to come pick him up and take him back to Su City, and he advised, if possible, not to touch him.

Then he leaned back against the tree trunk and fell asleep immediately.

The next moment, Lu Li finally entered his fourth deep evolution!
