Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 279: Chapter 252: World’s Top 10 Most Wanted Criminals Ranking

The next day.

Early morning.

Summer heat.

Even at this hour, the hot air was still blowing in.

Lu Li was sitting in the Mexico City airport lounge, waiting for his flight.

Now that the matter between him and the Jalisco Group had come to an end, he should quickly return to Huaxia.

He had promised Liu Kexin and Liu Ke Ping he would return to Huaxia within seven days, or she might be taken back by her family.

As for why not fly back himself?

With a plane available, who would waste their energy flying by themselves, sweating it out?

Besides, he seemed to be on the verge of a fourth deep evolution.

He needed to accumulate enough energy to enter ”sleep.”

Lu Li naturally didn’t want to delay energy collection by flying.

Ring ring ring.

His mom was calling.

His mom said, ”Xiaoli, your cousin is getting married tomorrow. Are you coming back?”

”Mom, I’ve told you many times, don’t call me Xiaoli, it sounds like Xiaoli.”

Lu Li replied helplessly, ”I probably won’t make it back by tomorrow.”

His mom said, ”Why not tomorrow? It’s only thirty or forty minutes from Su City to the countryside.”

Lu Li said, ”It’s only thirty or forty minutes from Su City to the countryside, but I’m currently in Mexico. I still need to transfer flights, and the journey is estimated to take thirty or forty hours. How could I be home by tomorrow?”

”Mexico?” His mom exclaimed, ”When did you go to Mexico? Your dad and I just got back from Aunt Wu’s next door. Her granddaughter said she saw something on Weibo about Mexico being very dangerous, something about ancestors running amok causing trouble and killing a lot of people. Also, the recent news on TV has been reporting, advising us not to travel to Mexico these days.”

Lu Li was quite surprised and said, ”Weibo and TV news in the country are covering what’s happening in Mexico?”

”Yes, they are, though the news didn’t mention anything about killing people. But Aunt Wu’s granddaughter saw it on Weibo.” His mom urged, ”Hurry up and come back from Mexico. Don’t get caught in any danger.”

Lu Li thought to himself, it would be strange if I were in danger, I’d be lucky not to bring danger to others.

After comforting his mother for a while, he hung up.

Lu Li started to search for news from Huaxia.

To his surprise, the spread of the news was quite rapid.

Almost all the platforms like domestic Weibo and Douyin were reporting on the ”Ancestor Man” incident.

”What is the real identity of the Ancestor Man?”

”Breaking news! The ’Kryptonian Superman’ appeared in Mexico, and the Jalisco Group was wiped out!”

”Are there any superpowered individuals in the world? The Mexican Jalisco Group verified it with tens of thousands of lives!”

”What are the chances of surviving a tank shell hit for a human?”

”The arrival of the Ancestor Man sparks a ’superpower’ craze across nations!”

Although the reports were wildly popular, Lu Li still caught a hint of something from them.

All the news was about his elimination of the Jalisco Group.

There was almost no news about the Michoacán explosion.

It’s as if it was selectively ignored.

Or deliberately concealed.

Lu Li roughly knew why.

Some people certainly didn’t want the ordinary public to know his business.

So they didn’t allow it to be reported.

He had no objections to this.

He indeed didn’t want to be blatantly exposed to the public’s eyes.

Otherwise, who knows if he’d become a celebrity-like figure constantly chased by fans.

Or be under surveillance day in and day out.

At the very least, living a peaceful life would be impossible.

Now that someone was covering up for him.

In short, it’s a good thing.

Lu Li no longer considered the impact of this matter.

Instead, he headed into the first-class cabin, waiting for takeoff.

...

In the first-class cabin.

Lu Li sat there looking a bit gloomy, his mind constantly occupied with thoughts.

Oh, doing such a sensational thing in Mexico this time, venting his anger and seeking revenge. It indeed felt exhilarating, but thousands of lives turned into ghosts by his hand. Was he entirely blameless?

Lu Li pondered deeply for a long time.

Finally, he reached a conclusion.

Where did I go wrong?

Wrong? Hell no!

If he hadn’t killed those scumbags from the Jalisco Group, more people would have been harmed.

Lu Li firmly believed that coming to Mexico to eliminate the Jalisco Group crime organization was absolutely the right thing to do.

If this were the Immortal World, it would be as if he achieved ”immeasurable merit.”

After coming to this realization, he was just about to check on his condition again.

Suddenly, the phone rang again with a ”ring ring ring.”

Lu Li took his phone out from his pocket.

It was a call from Gu Wei.

He thought for a moment, then picked up, saying directly, ”Old Gu, don’t come at me with accusations, I don’t particularly enjoy listening to those.”

Gu Wei laughed and said, ”Mr. Lu, what are you talking about? Why would I accuse you?”

Lu Li was puzzled, ”If you’re not accusing me, why are you calling?”

Gu Wei chuckled and said, ”Didn’t the Ugly Country have a stealth bomber crash-land on the East Sea Islands? For the sake of harmonious international relations, we helped them ’inspect’ it, only it’s not ’repaired’ yet and they’re already asking for it back. Didn’t you say you’d come take a look to see if it could be ’fixed’? So, do you have time to make a trip?”

Lu Li pondered for a bit and said, ”Sure, just stall for another week or so. I’ll take care of my own affairs first, then come over to take a look for you guys.”

Gu Wei exclaimed with joy, ”Great, great, great! With you taking the lead, we’re sure to ’repair’ it well. I’ll be waiting for your good news then.”

”Mm, alright.” Lu Li yawned, ”If there’s nothing else, I won’t chat with you. The plane here is about to take off.”

”Nothing else. You can hang up.” Gu Wei said and seemed to think of something, adding, ”What you did this time indeed had a significant impact. I heard that the world danger index rankings and the global most wanted list seem to be out recently. You can take a look if you have time.”

World danger index?

Global most wanted list?

Lu Li was stunned upon hearing this, pondering that Gu Wei’s hint might have something to do with him?

Curious, he made a quick search.

He quickly found the link to the ”world danger index” rankings.

Clicked in.

Countless people, like him, from various countries, also surged in large numbers.

The main reason being the recent shocking events in Mexico.

The result was that in less than a day, the ”world danger index” rankings were updated?

Naturally, everyone felt that some institutions did this intentionally.

The Mexican people were watching.

Some people from Huaxia were watching.

Informed citizens from the Ugly Country, the UK, and France also watched.

Everyone wanted to know whether Mexico would be affected by the ”Ancestor Man Incident” this time, causing its ranking to rise or fall.

Well, in last year’s ”world danger index rankings,” Mexico’s safety index was 47.20, ranking eighth.

As for the other nine countries, they were Wujia, Big Goose, Shadamu, and so on.

Lu Li glanced at last year’s list.

Quickly moved his gaze to the newly updated list.

World Danger Index Rankings:

Tenth place: Shadamu.

Sixth place: Babayang.

Second place: Venezuela.

Lu Li froze for a moment upon seeing this.

Because Mexico was not in the top nine.

This was a bit abnormal.

They were ranked eighth last year.

Especially Venezuela, with its complex national situation, has often been at the top.

This time it was pushed to second place?

Lu Li already had a vague premonition.

He scrolled to the bottom of the list.

Sure enough, Mexico was number one!

The reason given was straightforward: Mexico’s tourism is very developed, but the country’s safety issues remain severe and are filled with criminal problems, making it one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Especially recently, with a terrifying creature ”Ancestor Man” running rampant, the country’s safety issues have come under scrutiny.

Well, thanks to my work, Mexico has been ”raised” from the eighth place in global danger index rankings to first.

Lu Li looked on and couldn’t help but smile wryly.

He never expected that he alone could impact the whole of Mexico.

He shook his head helplessly.

Then continued searching for the ”global most wanted list.”

Soon, the list caught his eyes.

The tenth was an Indian named Daoud Ibrahim.

It was said he was the head of a famous criminal organization.

He had over 5,000 direct members under his control.

His reputation was as good as or even better than Oseguera.

You can imagine how vicious he is.

Seventh was an Italian named Matteo Messina Denaro.

According to the introduction, he is currently the head of the Italian Mafia.

As for why he was on the list, it’s self-explanatory.

Fifth was Doku...

Fourth was Aiman...

Second was Simon.

Finally, Lu Li scrolled to the first.

It was clearly written ”Ancestor Man.”

But unlike other wanted criminals, each with a story introduction,

underneath ”Ancestor Man,” there was nothing empty with just a name listed.

As for the reward, there wasn’t even one.

This list seemed like a farce.

Lu Li understood, it wasn’t a farce.

It was that countries worldwide didn’t plan on genuinely wanting to capture him, so they didn’t offer a bounty.

The most probable reason was that most likely countries worldwide had seen Mexico’s plight and knew they couldn’t afford to offend a monster like ”Ancestor Man,” so they handled it as low-profile as possible.

This is no joke.

A creature capable of reaching supersonic flight at any time.

And can explode with a force comparable to a nuclear bomb at any time and anywhere.

The most crucial part is that no one knows what the person looks like.

Who would be tired of living to issue a reward?

If someone really dared to do so, they’d probably have sleepless nights, fearing that their city’s area might ”nuclear explode” inexplicably during the night.

Lu Li couldn’t help but laugh upon seeing this, thinking his trip to Mexico this time actually, invisibly, intimidated quite a few people!
