Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 272: Chapter 246: Are You Sure This Guy Is from Earth?

A hill near the river in the Sierra Madre Mountains.

Nearby, there’s a small town covering an area of about two square kilometers.

Although it’s called a small town, it’s actually the Jalisco Group’s original secret base.

This time, the Jalisco Group has agreed to a battle with the Ancestors.

To prevent the government forces from getting wind of it early and surrounding them.

They had no choice but to bring out this easily defensible but hard to attack secret base as the battlefield.

Inside a tiled house in the center of the town.

The room is filled with surveillance screens.

The Jalisco Group’s number two leader, Cervantes, is sitting solemnly in front of these screens.

Beside him, seven or eight ”military command” experts are seated.

These people continuously scrutinize the various surveillance screens that display the town’s military layout.

Twelve main battle tanks, twenty Ajax armored vehicles, and four or five armed helicopters are scattered in various parts of the town.

About five thousand fully armed warriors are also silently lurking in every corner of the town.

Of these, a hundred warriors in white combat suits standing at the town entrance are particularly eye-catching.

Apart from wearing gas masks, each of these warriors is holding a high-energy laser gun.

As is well known, laser guns don’t have the same immense power as laser cannons and generally can’t kill people directly.

Their function is often to emit a strong beam of light that causes permanent eye damage, resulting in blindness.

When attacking the skin, they can burn clothes and scorch through flesh.

Since high-energy laser guns can’t directly kill someone.

Then why did the Jalisco Group prepare a hundred of them?

The reason is simple: in hidden spots around the town, there are about a dozen devices similar to grenade launchers.

These grenade launcher devices are not filled with conventional grenades, but with ultra-powerful anesthetic gas and the horrific VX nerve agent.

Once the laser guns breach the Ancestors’ defense, these ultra-powerful anesthetics or nerve agents will have a huge impact on them, opening the possibility for capturing the Ancestors alive.

Of course, in case none of these work, the Jalisco Group has also prepared a lethal weapon.

For instance, hidden in the distant mountains and forests, there is a military truck equipped with a high-energy laser cannon.

This high-energy laser cannon was first developed by the Ugly Country, possessing immense destructive power. It can fire a thousand light bullets per second, and once hit, it won’t burn or melt the target like traditional lasers but instead uses high-energy pulses to disintegrate the target, similar to how a shell obliterates a target upon impact.

In terms of destructive capability, this high-energy laser cannon may not match many missiles, sacrificing the ability to burn and melt, but its penetrating power and capacity to ”disintegrate” biological entities are terrifyingly unbelievable.

It can instantly penetrate fifty millimeters of steel, and even an elephant hit by the light bullet would be disintegrated!

Cervantes glanced at his watch and said with a stern expression, ”It’s almost nine o’clock in the morning as agreed, haven’t the Ancestors arrived yet?”

One of the military command experts in his fifties looked at the display screen, ”So far, there’s been no sign of the Ancestors, but we did spot some Ugly Country People carrying cameras in the forest outside the town. Some were sent by the big boss, and others we don’t know about. Should we send people to eliminate them?”

”No need,” Cervantes waved his hand, ”The Ugly Country People who can find out where our secret base is must have an impressive background, we can’t afford to offend them.”

”Indeed.”

”Even the government forces don’t know where we are hiding.”

”Haha, they were just making a fuss about live streaming the battle online; there’s no way we would agree to that.”

A few military command experts started laughing and discussing.

The Jalisco Group is no fool.

If they agreed to live stream the battle.

The Ancestors might not even arrive yet.

The government forces would already have come for a crackdown.

Naturally, they would not agree to live stream the battle with the Ancestors.

At this moment, a bald military command expert shouted, ”He’s here!”

Everyone hurriedly looked at the central display screen.

They saw a large glowing white light with a long bright tail from the southeast, suddenly hovering over the heads of over a hundred fully armed warriors led by the Michoacán leader Carlos.

Cervantes tried his best to open his eyes wide.

To see what the Ancestors really looked like.

The other military command experts did the same.

Unfortunately, although the Ancestors were still wearing that ridiculous white T-shirt with a skull drawing and torn jeans, his appearance seemed twisted, making it impossible to discern his features.

Despite being unable to see the Ancestors’ face, Cervantes decisively gave an order, ”Carlos, open fire immediately!”

...

At the town entrance.

As soon as Lu Li appeared here, he retracted his Biological Force Field, hovering at a low altitude of about twenty meters motionless.

The reason for retracting the Biological Force Field is that he saw laser guns below, and he had developed a superpower to directly absorb energy.

He wanted to try if he could absorb laser energy and convert it to replenish himself.

Hmm, the power of the laser gun is relatively weak.

If it were a laser cannon, Lu Li wouldn’t be so bold.

Hovering above, he transmitted information downward using his Spiritual Power: ”Hand over Cervantes, and I can spare your hundred men here; as for the other four thousand nine hundred and thirty-two people... no mercy!”

These words shocked Carlos and the over a hundred fully armed warriors facing the Ancestors, making it hard for them to contain their surprise.

They never expected the Ancestors to have just arrived and already figured out their setup flawlessly!

”Could this guy be a god?”

A thought of reverence flashed across Carlos’s mind.

Suddenly, Cervantes’ order came through his headset, ”Carlos, open fire immediately!”

Carlos’s expression changed as he suppressed his reverence, raising his hand high and shouting in Spanish, ”Everyone... fire!”

Over a hundred warriors holding high-energy laser guns heard the command and immediately raised their laser guns.

The next moment, the muzzles emitted intense white light.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Streaks of white light escaped from the high-energy laser guns.

Fiercely blasting towards the Ancestors in low altitude!

It’s important to note that lasers travel at the speed of light, making it nearly impossible to dodge!

Indeed, no matter how powerful Lu Li’s physique was, when lasers shot towards him, he couldn’t avoid them.

Or rather, he didn’t intend to dodge at all!

In an instant, over a hundred finger-thick laser beams bombarded every inch of Lu Li’s body!

Carlos and the over a hundred warriors rejoiced inwardly at the sight.

Although laser guns cannot kill instantly, they can scorch the external skin of a living being.

Now that hundreds of laser guns were fired simultaneously, anyone would be charred over a large area.

Large-scale charring would bring almost fatal injuries!

Carlos and the over a hundred warriors were sure that the Ancestors, this time, are undoubtedly doomed!

Laser shooting is brief.

In less than three seconds, the radiance suddenly dispersed.

Carlos and the over a hundred warriors looked up anxiously and gasped in unison!

For the Ancestors hovering mid-air at this moment had not a single injury!

This...how is this possible!

Laser can cause the irradiated part of an object to reach several thousand degrees in less than a thousandth of a second.

Even the most challenging elements would vaporize in that instant.

Although the laser gun is relatively weak, it can reach three thousand degrees momentarily.

A hundred laser guns firing for two seconds would create one molten depression after another in steel.

The Ancestors were unharmed?

Is this guy sure he’s from Earth?

Carlos’s eyes widened as his heart trembled!

The over a hundred fully armed warriors, too, each and every one, couldn’t help but tremble violently inside, utterly shocked.

In the command center, Cervantes and a few military experts were equally wide-eyed, each looking dumbfounded!

It wasn’t just the Jalisco Group men; a large group of Ugly Country People hiding in the distant mountain, filming with high-resolution cameras, were all dumbfounded at that moment!
