Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 262: Chapter 240: I Am the Ancestor You’re Looking For

Michoacán is not far from Mexico, about more than two hundred kilometers.

Logically, with Lu Li’s flying speed, he could get there in just over ten minutes.

However, he wasn’t planning to go to Michoacán at all, he didn’t even head in the northwest direction of the state but flew southward instead.

Why not go to Michoacán?

He’s not stupid!

Others deliberately kill civilians to anger him, and then claim to be waiting in Michoacán?

Anyone with a bit of sense can figure out that the other side must have some ambush.

Although Lu Li has enough confidence in his strong combat abilities, as the saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Why should he risk going to Michoacán?

After all, he has control over the locations of every stronghold of the Jalisco Group in each state and even in every city.

Since that’s the case, if he wants to establish his power, he can completely eliminate those strongholds one by one. Then, when Michoacán is left isolated, he can slowly investigate if there are any ambushes and make the best combat plan, isn’t that better than going there directly?

The main reason is that Lu Li understands the gravity and urgency of the situation.

His main goal now is to successfully capture the organization’s leader, Oseguera.

As the saying goes, ”control the king to command the princes”, as long as he can capture Oseguera, wouldn’t he be able to control the whereabouts of all Jalisco Group members?

It’s just that Oseguera seems to be very cautious.

When Lu Li raided the underground stronghold near Mexico City before, he used the ”Primordial Spirit” to search the memories of a few small leaders in the last few days and found no trace of Oseguera.

He learned from those small leaders’ memories that Oseguera seems to be extremely afraid of him, so he went into hiding early, and currently, no one seems to know his whereabouts.

Therefore, Lu Li devised a battle plan.

That is to first sweep through all the strongholds of the Jalisco Group in the southern half.

Along with checking the recent memories of the leaders in those strongholds, to see if they can discover where Oseguera is hiding.

Discovering it would be the best thing.

Even if he can’t find anything, sweeping the southern half’s strongholds would significantly weaken the Jalisco Group’s power and intimidate the heartless beasts, causing them to panic internally, thus deterring them from killing civilians.

”It would be best to wipe out more strongholds before the Jalisco Group can react.”

As Lu Li flew between the low clouds, he squinted and thought: ”If they do react, two scenarios are very likely to occur. First, they flee, making it extremely difficult for me to find those Jalisco Group members. Second, they kill more civilians to retaliate against me.”

He doesn’t want to see either of these scenarios happen.

In the first scenario, the Jalisco Group members fleeing would significantly increase the difficulty of eliminating them.

In the second scenario, Lu Li doesn’t want too many civilians to be killed because of his grudges with the Jalisco Group.

He recalled the information provided by Zhou Jinming.

The Jalisco Group has nine strongholds in the southern half.

Located in Guerrero, Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Tabasco, and so on.

”Guerrero is quite close; I’ll sweep from that state southward. Even the farthest direct distance to Quintana Roo is only about twelve hundred kilometers.”

Lu Li calculated the time.

Excluding combat time, the journey alone would take about an hour and forty minutes to fly.

If he acts quickly, he should be able to eliminate all these strongholds within three hours.

This is because he wants to see if there is anything valuable hidden in these strongholds.

If he disregarded everything else, Lu Li believes he has the ability to sweep through them all in two and a half hours.

”I traveled all the way from Huaxia to Mexico, there’s got to be some reward, right?”

Lu Li is willing to spend a little time searching to see if there’s any wealth in each stronghold.

With this in mind, he arrived near Tapante de Galina in Guerrero.

Following the information provided by Zhou Jinming, Lu Li headed to the seaside.

There was a village resembling a fishing village ahead.

At the port, two small gunboats were docked.

At a glance, the gunboats were twenty meters long, five meters wide, and estimated to have a displacement of around forty tons.

Lu Li had read military magazines before and knew these gunboats were called ”Vipers.” They could carry four to six people, were equipped with two 30-mm machine guns, and a grenade launcher, with the cost of each one as high as six million US Dollars.

The market price is definitely over six million US Dollars, probably reaching tens of millions.

A bit further ashore, were also three or four amphibious armored vehicles and a large truck parked.

He didn’t need to guess that this must be a Jalisco Group stronghold used for maritime operations.

Observing this, he immediately realized one thing.

There must be considerable wealth here.

Otherwise, there wouldn’t be such a high level of security force.

Lu Li didn’t act rashly; he used his superpower to scout around.

He saw that in that fishing village, there were about seventy to eighty members of the Jalisco Group, each equipped with at least a pistol, and many were patrolling with rifles.

Lu Li continued his search and finally saw heaps of sealed chemical substances in the basement of the house deepest inside the village, along with a huge safe filled with US Dollar bills.

It looked like it could amount to a billion US Dollars.

There were forklifts around the safe, seemingly ready to move it at any time.

After assessing the situation, Lu Li did not launch an immediate attack. Instead, he used his Spiritual Power to destroy the temporary communication tower that the Jalisco Group had set up nearby.

This way, they wouldn’t be able to inform the outside world through communication.

Destroying the signal tower was relatively easy; just cutting a few communication lines was enough.

After doing all this, he swaggered down toward the fishing village.

Two middle-aged men with brown skin and rifles at the entrance suddenly looked over.

The one on the left started shouting gibberish, as if trying to drive Lu Li away.

The man on the right raised his rifle, seemingly ready to deliver a fatal blow to Lu Li at any moment.

Without even glancing at the two, Lu Li walked forward with his hands in his pockets, as two high-density ice shards formed beside him.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

The ice shards hit the two men with precision, instantly blowing their heads apart. They couldn’t even scream, collapsing limply to the ground.

Without any expression, Lu Li continued walking inside, occasionally using his Spiritual Power to freeze the blood of those gang members smoking and drinking indoors, causing them to die suddenly.

In the blink of an eye, seventy to eighty members of the Jalisco Group were dead without even seeing Lu Li.

”Since the error in evolution, my Spiritual Power has increased greatly, making it far too easy to kill unseen,” Lu Li couldn’t help but shake his head. Although he expended some Spiritual Power, killing seventy to eighty people at once posed no challenge to him.

He knew it was because his strength had reached a certain level.

Of course, he hadn’t killed everyone.

He left two middle-aged men who were dressed significantly better than the others.

He had seen in the information provided by Zhou Jinming that these two middle-aged men were the primary and deputy leaders of this stronghold.

...

Marco and Julio were the primary and deputy leaders of the Jalisco Group’s Guerrero stronghold.

They had recently closed a large chemical deal via maritime shipping with Guatemala, earning hundreds of millions of US Dollars, and were waiting for nightfall to transport the money to the Jalisco headquarters.

Although they had taken in hundreds of millions of US Dollars, the costs of producing and transporting the chemical products meant that their estimated profit was around sixty to seventy million.

At this moment, they, together with three or four subordinates, were in the innermost room, discussing recent events while cooling off with an electric fan.

”I heard that God of Death has appeared?”

”Hey, the boss has already devised a comprehensive plan. As long as ’Ancestor’ dares to go to Michoacán, he’ll certainly be captured alive.”

”Haha, this time we’ve obtained a batch of advanced weapons from the Ugly Country, along with some powerful biochemical weapons. ’Ancestor’ is sure to die without a doubt!”

Marco and Julio listened to their subordinates’ discussions, smiling.

They had heard from the group’s second-in-command, Cervantes, that if they could capture Ancestor alive, the big boss from the Ugly Country would reward them with a billion US Dollars and a series of more advanced heavy weapons.

By then, their Jalisco Group would be significantly stronger, easily dominating the entire Mexican underworld, possibly even challenging the military’s might.

As mid-level leaders in the group, Marco and Julio certainly stood to benefit greatly, so they were naturally pleased.

The young man sitting next to Julio was still speaking excitedly, ”If the boss could...”

Suddenly!

His eyes bulged, and he slumped onto the table in front of him without a sound.

Marco was stunned!

Julio was also taken aback.

They were about to ask what was wrong with this subordinate.

But then, several thuds sounded in succession.

The other subordinates sitting there discussing began either slumping over the table like the young man earlier or falling backward, dead as can be!

Their deaths were eerily similar, with tiny ice spikes protruding from their skin.

Seeing this, Marco and Julio felt an icy chill down their backs, as if they’d seen a ghost.

”Not good!” Marco exclaimed in terror, ”The Ancestor must have come!”

Julio turned grave and shouted, ”Quickly...”

The word ”escape” had not yet left his lips!

With a loud crash, the door was kicked in from outside.

It scraped over Marco and Julio’s scalps and lodged into the wall behind them!

Having just stood up, Marco and Julio were so frightened that they fell back to the ground, trembling.

The next moment, a shadow blocked the sunlight at the door, entering their line of sight.

Marco and Julio looked over, only to see a seemingly slender Eastern man with a distorted face, his features almost indistinguishable, walking slowly up to them.

As he stepped inside, he said softly, ”Allow me to introduce myself: I am the Ancestor your group has been searching for!”

Upon hearing this, Marco and Julio’s pupils dilated uncontrollably.

In that moment, it felt as if their hearts had ceased to beat!
