Chapter 1287: Chapter 45: Morning Light (End)

The whole world seemed to freeze at this moment.

People stared blankly at the living room, at the bedroom, at the bar, at the office, at the central plaza, at the screens on the neon-lit buildings.

The screen showed a scene of artillery fire; judging by the time in the lower right corner, it appeared to be a few hours ago. In the image, Felix was shouting loudly!

The signal seemed to have a slight issue, the picture was silent, everyone couldn’t hear anything, only seeing that old man they’d longed for, with an expression completely opposite to his usual calm and indifference, shouting wildly at himself.

For the first time, they saw Felix so agitated, for the first time witnessing him erupting with such fervent emotions. His face was flushed, his continuously opening and closing lips trembling slightly.

The picture shook violently, and everyone was surprised to discover that Felix was on board a Chuckna fighter. In front of him, a pilot wearing a white helmet was half-turned saying something while pointing to some part of Felix’s seat. Felix, pressing his headset with one hand, kept nodding, agreeing to something.

Finally, with a burst of static, the belated sound appeared in everyone’s ears.

”...Yes, now I’m going down, to the largest planet of Resk, our soul-pining planet, to use my camera to prove to everyone that the person is still alive! I’m leaving. At this moment, it’s hard for me to express my feelings in words. From the moment I learned this news until now, my heart has been constantly accelerating!”

Saying this, Felix’s camera turned, picking up the adjacent fighter.

The zoomed-in lens showed a beautiful woman. Felix’s voice came from outside the picture: ”This is Su Fei, perhaps by now she has become the most familiar person to all citizens of this nation. As partners, this time she will be going down with me, through the battlefield of flying artillery, to witness our miracle. She’s a brave girl; her courage and beauty make us proud of her.”

The camera turned back, and the pilot’s voice sounded in the picture: ”We’re here, start!”

”Come with me! To find him, to know this army that has been fighting. Ancestors bless Chuckna!” In the picture, Felix’s face appeared again, after his shout, the rapidly approaching ground could be seen behind him.

Felix’s voice rolled across the silent sky of Chuckna.

People looked blankly as this old man plunged towards the ground. Everything before their eyes, and the information revealed in Felix’s disjointed commentary, lifted all their hearts into mid-air.

There’s an army fighting, he’s still alive......

The ground drew closer, people’s heartbeats quickened. Many girls in the crowd covered their eyes with their hands, not daring to watch.

Felix’s lens was fixed on the ground, a patch of black hills and forests outside the fiery battlefield, where something seemingly more precious than his life awaited him.

As the ground drew nearer, some tentacle-like things appeared on the picture. Some recognized them as shock absorbers of the high-speed descent protection device. Even in maximum velocity free fall, these appendages could protect a person from any impact.

The picture shook violently as the ground rushed up.

A moment later, when the picture resumed stability, people saw Felix open the hatch of the descent device. Not far away, several beams of light flashed, several Chuckna Mecha and dozens of warriors in Chuckna uniforms appeared in the lens. Beside Felix, Su Fei had also landed safely.

”Captain Nash of the Chuckna 51st Mechanized Infantry Division, salutes you.” A officer in a tattered uniform, exuding an aura of surviving countless battles, raised his hand in salute: ”Mr. Felix, welcome!”

”51st Mechanized Infantry Division!”

This number was like a bolt of thunder, exploding through the crowd. The exclamations from billions of people watching the live broadcast seemed to shatter the daylight clouds, ripping through the dark night.

Everyone couldn’t believe their ears. This designation, so familiar to them! The 51st Mechanized Infantry Division, the 13th Armored Division, had indelibly etched themselves in every Chuckna person’s memory over the past twenty days!

”Please follow me!”

Escorted by Mecha, led and supported by the officer named Nash and a group of soldiers, the two most famous war reporters of Chuckna walked into the depths of the forest.

Watching the lens shake in the dark forest, seeing the leading Chuckna warriors running skillfully, on guard, listening to the continuous sounds of explosions and artillery fire, everyone’s breathing became extremely rapid.

They knew what was about to happen. Upon hearing the 51st Mechanized Infantry Division designation and combining Felix’s previous words, even the most insensitive person realized what they were about to witness!

Finally, a rudimentary hidden camp appeared in the picture.

Felix’s heavy breathing constantly echoed in the image. From the front command Mecha, an old man stepped out.

People quietly watched this elder.

Tears burst from many at this moment.

The old man stood quietly, smiling. On the hill behind him, a ray of dawn was indescribably beautiful.
