Chapter 1283: Chapter 8 Vol. 45: Dawn (End)

As soon as Felix and Su Fei looked at the electronic map and the mountains and rivers on the electronic simulation platform, they knew there was a problem on Canglang Star!

As they entered the room, Nissen greeted them.

”What happened?” Wang Hao asked urgently.

Nissen shook his head and said, ”We cannot make a judgment yet, the situation is very strange. My advance aircraft group has already discovered six important landing points on the Eastern Hemisphere of Canglang Star where landing can be carried out.”

”Six?!” Wang Hao was so surprised his eyes widened. Not only him, but even Felix and Su Fei were also shocked and speechless by the sudden news.

As the liaison officers explained earlier, they knew that the advance aircraft group’s mission entering the atmosphere of Canglang Star this time, besides undertaking the first wave of airstrike to clear a safe air path for the giant transport ship, was to find a suitable landing point within the Jiepeng people’s defense.

The landing point for the giant transport ship cannot be chosen casually. The landing site must have significant strategic value, the landing forces must be able to quickly complete a point-to-area defensive line, and must open up a solid base for subsequent landing forces. On Canglang Star, with hundreds of enemy divisions defending, finding even one or two in such a short time is already enough to make people overjoyed!

The enormous joy suddenly hit Felix and Su Fei.

But when they saw the solemn expressions on the liaison officers’ faces, the joy in their hearts quickly vanished. Clearly, things are not as simple as they imagined.

”Usually, under circumstances where both sides understand each other’s next strategic steps, we can’t possibly obtain so many landing sites.” Wang Hao explained to them, ”Although during domestic mobilization and the early stages of operation we did a lot of deceptive work, targeting Leifeng Star, the Jiepeng people should not be so careless.

Intelligence shows that they have at least hundreds of divisions on Canglang Star for defense, enough to deploy a comprehensive defensive line. Yet, we found six gaps within just one hour, which is clearly abnormal. If the Jiepeng people didn’t encounter any issues, then it is...”

Looking at the worried expressions of Felix and Su Fei, Wang Hao said with concern, ”...a trap!”

Felix and Su Fei finally understood why instead of being overjoyed by such news, the command center was on high alert, and even Admiral Li Hongwu left the fighting fleet to stand solemnly at the electronic sand table in the analysis room.

As time passed, the atmosphere became increasingly tense.

The frontline aircraft group had already started to spread out, searching further afield. Meanwhile, the Jiepeng land-based fighter jets also took to the air, and in several areas, both sides had begun fierce skirmishes.

Space battle continued, and as the fight intensified, landing had to be completed within these hours. Once the space battle failed, the opportunity for landing would be fleeting.

However, before more intelligence support from the frontline aircraft group arrived, no one dared to randomly select a landing site for implementation. The more gaps the enemy revealed, the more complex the intelligence needed to be verified. The troop deployment around those landing sites, space transport channels, and previously unobserved mountain areas all needed to be verified.

Otherwise, once we land, we could very likely fall into the enemy’s trap. Such failure is absolutely unacceptable for the Chuckna Military Department now.

Watching Admiral Li Hongwu’s increasingly serious expression, Felix and Su Fei could fully imagine the struggle in his heart at this moment. Even as spectators, they felt every minute and second were a form of torment.

On the console screen beside them, the image was shaking. It was the signal from the frontline aircraft group. Many screens showed scenes of battle, including the explosion firelights from the advance aircraft group attacking the enemy military airports, and the trembling images with the emergency ascending Jiepeng fighter jets.

”Order the Long River aircraft carrier to deploy two squadrons!” Admiral Li Hongwu decisively commanded, ”Regardless, it is necessary to find out the enemy’s reality within two hours. Order the second aircraft group to prepare for opening space channels, transport ships prepare for forced landing!”

”Yes!” The staff officer Admiral Wellington, standing next to Li Hongwu, accepted the order, then immediately asked, ”Admiral, where do we choose for the landing site...”

Li Hongwu paused briefly and slowly said, ”Get ready first, as for the landing site... wait a bit more.”

”Yes!”

As Admiral Wellington turned and left, the air in the entire operations room seemed frozen.

Everyone could hear from Li Hongwu’s tone that even as the highest commander, he was unable to discern the clues from the six important landing sites. Whether it was a mistake by the Jiepeng people or a trap required more intelligence support... but time was running increasingly short.

”General!” A staff officer shouted back loudly, ”A seventh important landing location has been discovered, located west of Tangtai City, east of Beiguan City, on No.6 Resource Highway. The stationed troop strength and electronic signal intensity are only at seventy-five percent of minimum defense capacity...”

”The seventh!”

The analysis room buzzed with astonishment. This news brought not joy, but even larger doubts.

The staff surrounded the electronic sand table, repeatedly checking and discussing, with a buzzing sound. Li Hongwu exchanged a glance with two admirals, both equally solemn.
