Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1262: Chapter 8-38: Wild Plan (Part 3)

For a moment, there were many voices and a cacophony of opinions. But no matter what was said, the unanimous conclusion was that Fatty’s proposal was utterly impossible.

Old Marshal Li Cunxin didn’t speak. He quietly watched Fatty and suddenly said, ”Fatty, tell us how you would fight!”

Pei Litong and Balmer exchanged startled glances.

They had long noticed that the Old Marshal was quite fond of Fatty. Although the two often got into arguments after just a couple of sentences, with Fatty never showing the old man any face, this old and young pair were both daring and reckless people. When they got together, nothing good usually came of it.

”Marshal...” Balmer had just started to speak when Li Cunxin decisively waved a hand to interrupt him.

”Let me share my thoughts.” Fatty grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth, and said, ”First, let’s talk about the situation. It seems like we’re just a lone force trapped in these mountains, but the real situation is that the Fei Alliance is about to counterattack, and the Jiepeng people don’t have a single secure forward base! This is precisely why the enemy is deploying so many troops and even resorting to massacres of civilians at this time!”

Fatty’s words quieted the surrounding chatter. Everyone focused their minds, feeling as if a light had suddenly turned on in their hearts.

”According to the intelligence we have, the Jiepeng people have stationed two Class A fleets, forty Armored Divisions, and sixty Mechanical Infantry divisions on Canglang Star. Of these forces, Jiepeng accounts for two-thirds, and Suss for one-third. Such forces are more than enough to control a planet already in their grasp. However, for a future war of unprecedented ferocity, these forces are far from sufficient!

Currently, Jiepeng and Suss are still reinforcing their numbers, but their transport capacity is already stretched to the limit. Reinforcing from their homeland to Resk is not as simple as transferring from a few cities to the Northern Mountain Region. These one hundred divisions represent only one-third of their total forces. Another third is on Leifeng Star, and the remaining third is on the way from their homeland to here! To be blunt, Canglang Star is their forward base right now. In the forthcoming battles, these forces serve as reserves, ready to engage at any time.”

”Think about it...” Fatty looked around, raising an eyebrow, and said, ”If it were you, would you be willing to leave two enemy divisions roaming in your forward base before a decisive battle critical to your national destiny?”

The staff officers all shook their heads in unison. If this were on a Jiepeng-controlled planet, leaving two divisions in the heartland would be like placing two time bombs on one’s chest. Once the war reached a critical moment, and the frontline awaited reinforcements while the forward base’s troops were unable to be effectively redeployed due to these divisions, it would be extremely frustrating.

”We wouldn’t want that, of course, and neither does the enemy.” Fatty sneered coldly, ”So they’ve resorted to such lowly tactics, trying to force us out. If they had a week, they might succeed. But they have at most two or three days. Within three days, the Fei Alliance Army will undoubtedly launch a counterattack. Moreover, I can assert that the first target of the Alliance’s counterattack will be Canglang Star!”

”What evidence do you have?” Balmer stared intently into Fatty’s eyes and interjected. He had already detected the opportunity in Fatty’s words, and this judgment was key.

”Mikami Yuto attacked Canglang Star, but he didn’t expect Hanfrey to fall into my hands!” Fatty sneered with gritted teeth, ”As a result, Mikami Yuto’s brilliant move didn’t pan out! Mobilization has already taken place domestically, with two out of the Three Great Super Fleets arriving, and the main force of Suss is stuck on Leifeng Star. They and Suss are in a state where their fates are interlinked, and they have no room for maneuvering in this battle!”

The staff officers nodded, recalling the battle in the Longbow Star System. The failure of the Hanfrey Fleet was a blessing for Chuckna and a fortune for the Fei Alliance! Otherwise, with the Fei Alliance’s deployment in Resk at the time, not only would these two divisions not have escaped, but even the main forces of the Fei Alliance Joint Army on Leifeng Star would have been swallowed whole.

”Although there are some idiots in the Fei Alliance, we do have a Military God Hastings overseeing things.” Fatty sneered, continuing, ”The old guy won’t fail to see that Suss and Jiepeng are already at their wits’ end. Engaging in a war of attrition now and delaying time does no good for the Fei Alliance. If action is to be taken, a second front must be opened to drag Jiepeng and Suss into a dual-front war. This way, our numerical advantage and home-field advantage will be fully leveraged!”

The old guy... the command center was filled with dazed expressions. To dare call the Military God Hastings by such a name, Fatty was the first to lack such decorum.

What they didn’t know was that Fatty had even dared to mess with Hastings’ granddaughter, Margaret, and they were unaware that Fatty was so certain because he had long reached an agreement with the bandit army and Margaret to form a coalition of interests.

Cold and proud Margaret had long been handled by Fatty, stripped of any steel shell she had. There was a tacit understanding and even a hint of subtle affection.

Even if Hastings didn’t want to choose Canglang Star, Margaret would undoubtedly persist until Old Hei made up his mind. On this point, Fatty was incredibly certain. Psychology wasn’t something he studied for nothing; from the day he started learning, this rascal’s specialized direction was female psychology! During his time with Margaret, he used various hints and hypnosis like pepper and MSG, applying them in abundance!
