Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1281: Chapter 44: Morning Light (5)_3

These people are the specific decision-makers in numerous battles throughout the entire campaign. Even Hastings cannot intervene in the frontline combat.

What they need to control is only the overall picture, the grand strategy, interpreting the entire situation and issuing combat orders based on their interpretations, and then deploying commands for the most crucial battles. The coordination and guidance of lower-level combat units, however, fall to the large staff department and grassroots officers.

But Fatty is different. This guy is not only full of conspiracies and intrigues, harassment and sneak attacks, but even in specific commands, he’s detailed down to the platoon level!

Pei Litong becomes more and more alarmed.

If Fatty’s indecent tactics initially seemed like trickery, playing around with small cunning, and not knowing the importance of things, then when this madness of harassment and sneak attacks, crazy infiltration and maneuvering, and insane ambush and feigned attack simultaneously forms a continuous and interconnected web of activities spread across more than a hundred combat units covering the entire war zone, things are no longer simple!

The Blue Army is entirely pinned down by the Red Army!

Every inch of advance faces the Red Army’s trap, every battle must guard against the Red Army’s encirclement and surprise attacks.

Hundreds of Red Army troops, after early skirmishes, are scattered around the Blue Army’s front, back, left, and right; up and down kilometers along the front line, everywhere there’s a shadow of the Red Army. Some fight openly, some encircle from the flanks, and many have already slipped into the Blue Army’s rear through exploited gaps!

No one knows what simulation technique Fatty uses; he only uses a very small part of what the system provides to the staff department. So much so that when the Blue Army staff department personnel are at a red alert level, the Red Army’s staff department personnel remain smooth in blue, as if relaxing on holiday.

The majority of the system staff’s work has been taken over by the crazily typing, crazy Fatty!

His crazy harassment tactics, supported by his simulation technique, completely upend Pei Litong and others’ military understanding.

Modern warfare gives crucial importance to the staff department.

Planning strategies, analyzing the situation, simulation, intelligence gathering and interpretation, their role is to provide advice to commanders above, and to direct and coordinate below.

An excellent staff department is the assurance of winning a campaign. It can be said that behind every great general worldwide, there must be a staff headquarters capable of understanding his intentions, executing his orders, and providing key opinions on combat planning and simulation command. In countries, staff headquarters under great generals have far more power than other officers of the same level!

However, unlike these ”staff” in simulation programs that judge based only on military theoretical knowledge, real world staff, though they possess more inspiration and can often create classic combat plans, have a problem and a flaw that is never resolved!

That is, the gathering of battlefield conditions!

Everyone’s thinking is ultimately different, and this difference manifests in war in the formulation of tactics, interpretation of intelligence, and the judgment of situations!

A war with such complex intelligence, ever-changing situations, cannot be simultaneously comprehended by anyone. These pieces must be broken down, handled individually by staff members with varying abilities and thoughts, and ultimately submitted to the commander, but along the way, it has already been altered.

Not to mention that the commander himself can make mistakes, even if he doesn’t, he unknowingly makes them.

Thus, a fundamental ability of an excellent commander is the ability to gather battlefield conditions. Those reliant on varied insights of each staff, typically resolved through arguments, compromise, even based on rank, to analyze and control the battlefield are mediocre!

However, even military gods like Hastings, Sobel, Mikami Yuto, can’t simultaneously grasp so many battlefield conditions! If any one of them could replace a staff department, or even a small part, he would be invincible! All these intelligence conditions, in his mind, would be extremely powerful control and foresight!

Though it seems unimaginable, Pei Litong, upon witnessing the progression in the middle of the situation, must admit there’s someone in this world who achieved this!

The Red Army, like a grand net, though seemingly fragmented and scattered, under Fatty’s command, these troops seem to be connected by an invisible thread.

Frontal assaults, frontal blockades, flank maneuvers, sneak attacks, ambushes... hundreds of Red units, in time and space, coordinate, alternate covering each other.

No one can believe that this crazy Fatty can simultaneously interpret and utilize so much battlefield intelligence and simulation conditions, yet the facts speak for themselves. Without powerful, far superior to Li Cunxin’s eighth star simulation level abilities, Fatty would absolutely not be able to uphold such tactics!

Li Cunxin has already been harassed by Fatty to the point of burning with anger.

The officers beside the Old Marshal see his angry, glaring eyes, his teeth tightly clenched, and then look at the simulation screen, everywhere in the darkness, undercut by the Red Army, it’s like they can fully empathize.

Facing such a pesky opponent, it’s like being tied up, kept in a standing cage, unable to rise or sit, forced to squat, enduring caresses on the face, chin tugs, chest grabs, butt squeezes, endlessly teased!

Driving one insane!

No wonder Fatty said the old man wanted to find torment. This guy is a scoundrel!

The Blue Army’s heavy troop group has become a trapped beast. In front of the Blue Army, the Red Army’s positions are impregnable. Fatty fights positional battles and is absolutely an expert. Against alternating attacks from two Armored Divisions, one Armored Group defends seamlessly without water leakage. Meanwhile, the vast hills covered with Red Army’s camp-level troops gnaw the Blue Army’s heavy troop group to bruises everywhere.

It’s practically a replay of position 415. Pei Litong has no doubt, if initially the troops weren’t on such a desperate ground, if this unit had enough combat strength, Fatty could completely hold position 415 while, as he did behind enemy lines overnight taking out three Armored Camps, consuming the enemy cleanly bit by bit!

An enraged Li Cunxin conceded in anger.

Almost reaching the front line, the Command Mecha stopped. The violent artillery and explosion sounds are just beside the ears.

Inside the entire Command Mecha, silence reigns.

Fatty closed his eyes... The old man is no ordinary person; his aggressive offensives had once left him flustered and at a loss. This fierce thrust tactic was like a heavy tank crushing everything blocking before it. Yet he survived before this tank and defeated it!

Now, he feels confident commanding the bandit army; it’s time for the bandit army to ascend the stage!

”Marshal,” a staff officer turned around, ”the Electronic Camp reports finding a large number of warplanes! They’re approaching us!”
