Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1256: Chapter 36: Hot Springs (Part 2)

That night, when Fatty and his group returned, the entire camp’s warriors saw over a hundred Transport Mecha carrying supplies entering the camp in an unending stream, with the spoils piling up like mountains. Amidst the swaying lights of the Mecha, there was a burst of noise. In addition to seizing nearly a hundred Combat Mecha and countless weapons and equipment, Fatty and his team even brought back a squad of scattered soldiers from local garrison forces and rebels who had been imprisoned by the Jiepeng people.

A total of three thousand warriors from the Chuckna local garrison forces and hundreds of militia, police, and ordinary citizens supplemented the troops, making the Old Marshal Li Cunxin and the two division commanders grin from ear to ear.

Once it started, it couldn’t be stopped.

It turned out that these two Fatty, large and small, secretly plotted to lead the troops to gather some wild food. After the battle, the guys from the Armored Camp, with the tacit approval of Pei Litong and others, blatantly started plotting together.

All they discussed every day was which place to attack, and it was all talk and action. They had just raided a place, and before the plundered supplies were counted, the little boy revealed another location, and after Fatty calculated and simulated, the group couldn’t sit still again.

In just over fifty hours, the team had swelled to thirty-three thousand people. Countless underground resistance groups, countless guerrilla forces retreating into the deep mountains, countless Chuckna youths born and raised here, were crossing the mountains and ridges, advancing towards the Northern Mountain Region. Meanwhile, countless resistance organizations were attacking the Jiepeng Garrison in various locations.

Now the entire Northern Mountain Region’s Jiepeng local garrison troops were on high alert, ready for anything. The Reconnaissance Mecha sent out repeatedly reported the tracking and encircling, with orders to search the Northern Mountain Region revealing the Jiepeng Forces drawing back.

Once the troops left Hot Spring Town, Jiepeng’s pursuit became just for show. The Northern Mountain Region had complex terrain and vast areas, and as a Level 1 Immigrant Planet like Canglang Star, the numerous small towns scattered around easily provided supplies to the hidden mountain troops. To capture a shadow of the Chuckna Army’s main force in these mountains would require investing twenty to thirty divisions, spending one to two months for a full encirclement!

The Jiepeng Army, already lacking confidence in their pursuit, found themselves repeatedly ambushed by Fatty, causing disorientation.

Not only were multiple key supply bases attacked, but several times, due to the inability to distinguish whether the ambushers were Chuckna’s main force, they fell for the trick. Several small units were completely swallowed up by the main force maneuvering in the mountains and Fatty conveniently picking off leftovers. Knowing continuing would be futile and fearing their bases would also be hit, the Jiepeng Forces decisively retreated in various directions.

This then granted the Chuckna Army a leisurely time.

By the lakeside, the Old Marshal, who had just taken a nap, opened his eyes, stretched in the sunlight, and seeing the idle Fatty, waved with a smile: ”General Tian, come, chat with this old man.”

”No time!” Fatty didn’t even turn his head, continuing to stare at the logistics officer’s list with eyes shining green.

Li Cunxin was stunned, then got rather put out.

The nearby officers exchanged amused glances.

The Old Marshal Li Cunxin, with extremely high prestige, surprisingly had a somewhat playful and tyrannical personality. In the Chuckna Military Department, he often played pranks that left people crying and laughing when he was pleased, and when angry, he’d scold his own son mercilessly within three sentences. Numerous people had seen him in embarrassed situations, yet Leray Fatty Major General was the first to disrespect him and make him blow his beard and glare.

Seeing the old man’s unhappy face, ready to turn their faces away and act as if they heard nothing, they suddenly heard Milan, who was repairing the Mecha in the distance, shout: ”Fatty, come over!”

Everyone felt a blur in their vision, as if a lightning bolt had struck, while Fatty had already taken a leap and eagerly rushed over. He kept saying attentively, ”I’m coming, I’m coming.”

Bzzz, suddenly the previously pin-drop silent command post got busy again, the officers either walking around, conversing, or tapping on computer keyboards, sneaking glances at Li Cunxin still, where the old man dejectedly leaned back on his chair and closed his eyes. On his forehead, no matter how you looked, there were several popping veins.

”Was Marshal Li calling you earlier?” Milan asked, having shut the Mecha’s leg cover and wiping the oil on her hands with a special cleaning towel, and then tiptoed, peeking over Fatty’s shoulder towards the lakeside.

”Nope!” Fatty’s eyes widened.

”Oh,” Milan tugged on Fatty’s hand, cheerfully said: ”I’ve finished my work, let’s go for a walk.”

”A walk?!” Fatty blinked his eyes, and suddenly his nose felt sour, tears streaming down: ”I know a great place... it’s beautiful, quiet, and absolutely no one will be there.”

”No one? Does going for a walk have anything to do with whether or not there’ll be people...” Milan was stunned, blushing, and pushed Fatty with a bite of sarcasm: ”Fatty, if you don’t take me, and if the scenery is bad, watch how I’ll deal with you!”

Fatty’s 3.65 million pores bubbled in delight, pulling Milan to get onto the Mecha. As the engine roared, the Mecha stretched its limbs, stood up, and ran towards a big mountain to the west.

Watching through the cockpit as the officers’ surprised expressions flashed by, smelling Fatty’s familiar scent, recalling past moments intertwined with Fatty, feelings of heat and softness surfaced in Milan’s body... this Fatty with his many antics...
