Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1245: Chapter 33: Just You Wait!

The Battle Axe struck the White Mecha, then crashed to the ground.

The Jiepeng Mechanic watched countless dirt and rubble erupt from the broken ground, watched as the figure originally struck by the axe flickered and disappeared right before his eyes, watched two companions transform into bursting fireballs in an instant......

”Phantom.....”

As he muttered a word in a daze, he saw an ion light saber pierce through the metal shell on the left side of the cockpit, tearing through the mesh upholstery, the storage compartment beside it, the control station, the seat, and his own body, exiting through the crack in the metal shell on the right.

What kind of mecha is this, how could it have such a powerful ion light saber.....

As death came, the Jiepeng Mechanic’s brain froze on a question he would never find an answer to.

On the Central Battlefield, the Jiepeng Mechas were falling en masse under the saber’s light.

No one had ever witnessed such slaughter. This scenario should occur in a crowd of civilians gunned down by energy machine guns, not in a duel between mechas!

”First Company, First Platoon, Second Platoon, advance!”

”Second Company, Second Platoon, left flank, split them up!”

”Second Company, Third Platoon, hold the line, don’t let them through.... Damn it, Third Company, First Platoon, forward!”

Major William kept deploying troops tirelessly, hardly remembering the commands he had issued. He merely faced the battle’s fluctuations with flushed eyes, directing his subordinates into ferocious attacks. Yet, each wave of frenzied assault would crash against those ten white reefs and shatter into pieces!

Entire companies were deployed, and within less than five minutes, they were completely slaughtered; the second company faced the same fate.

”Commander, the firepower coverage is ineffective. We can’t hit them! They’re too fast!”

”Commander, we can’t hold them off, we can’t get close!”

”Commander, they’ve changed direction again!”

Listening to the unprecedented panic on the communication channels, William’s mind was blank. ”How could this happen?! It’s impossible! It’s impossible! What kind of mecha is this, the Fei Alliance’s mechas don’t have such models!”

Another attempt at intercepting and fracturing the enemy fell through.

Ten White Mechas moved swiftly, constantly covering each other. Sometimes they expanded like blooming petals, sometimes they contracted tightly together. Before realizing it, the platoons just deployed were penetrated. Five White Mechas continued slaughtering among the mecha group, while the other five immediately turned back from different angles to attack again.

What are these guys up to, could it be they’re trying to wipe out the entire Armored Division?!

Seeing the Falcon Camp losing nearly half its forces, seeing the opponent unscathed, save for a few dirty marks on the outer armor, a thought involuntarily surged into William’s mind.

They’re making a display of power!

”Boom!” ”Boom!” ”Boom!”.........

As if to prove William’s judgment, the ten White Mechas simultaneously stepped forward, twisted, soared, and swung their sabers. A row of [Mechanical Violence] fell swiftly under the blades, as if slicing fruit!

William blankly looked back in the direction of the base. He knew that at this moment, Oono Hayato must be fuming with rage. Falcon Camp was his trump card, his pride. And now, that pride had been trampled underfoot by these arrogant, rampant foes.

”Whoa, dear, don’t touch there.” A voice joyfully exclaimed.

William’s hand tightened fiercely on the control lever, his blood boiling, and the mecha shot forward like an arrow.

”Get me connected to William!”

Oono Hayato stared straight at the virtual screen, scenes constantly rolling and changing, mechas darting fiercely, slaughtering. Suddenly, a mecha he was familiar with was struck heavily by a fleeting white figure and fell to the ground. Amidst the loaming dust, innumerable mechas obscured the view.

”General....” The communications officer stuttered, turning back: ”Major William, KIA!”

Oono Hayato stared at the communications officer with strange, vacant eyes, slowly sitting down on the chair. He suddenly recalled Zhongshan Yi, who had been captured.

Modern warfare is not an era of individual heroism. No matter how powerful or crazy the enemy is, they wouldn’t dare face off against an entire armored division with only ten mechas.

Yet all this unfolded right under my nose.

Did Zhongshan Yi also feel the same helplessness?! His 172nd Division fell at the 415 battlefront. Will I follow in his footsteps?!

What’s going on?

Facing only ten mechas, why was my entire Armored Division unable to contain them?! They roamed freely amongst the mecha frenzy, like fish in water. Yet it’s the Jiepeng Mechanic, afraid of friendly fire, hitting cautiously.

An overwhelming bombardment from energy cannons couldn’t do them harm. Just when they were pulling apart with mutual cover to gain some distance, they were caught up, stuck to, impaled...... Strangled within formation, and another massacre ensued!

Is this really the mecha warfare I’m familiar with?

The mechas with no ability to resist, are they truly my prideful Falcon Camp?!

That shrill banter seemed to echo in my ears.

Oono Hayato quietly looked at the screen, suddenly realizing that the ten mechas had penetrated the rear formations of the Falcon Camp and stirred the outer encirclement into disarray.

”Commander,” a Major suddenly shouted: ”They are coming towards us!”
