Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1243: Chapter 33: Just You Wait! (2)

Oono Hayato said all that just to stall for a bit while he set things up—he didn’t need much, just a dozen seconds or so. As long as those Mecha were stunned for that brief moment, it was enough.

War has always been about using every dirty trick. For Oono Hayato, it was just moving his lips a couple of times; whether it worked or not, he lost nothing. Fortunately for him, this so‑called ”Leray Hero” actually fell for it like an idiot. Even more ridiculous, the guy even hoped to be let go! Although... something about his voice sounded off...

”What are you trying to do?” From inside the Mecha came Fatty’s terrified voice.

Oono Hayato stared at those few white specks in the rolling black metal tide and sneered, ”You surrender—”

Before he could finish, a girlish laugh rang out from the Mecha, followed by a crisp, sultry female voice: ”What am I trying to do? Fatty, watch how I deal with you!” As she spoke, the playful scuffling of a man and a woman burst out in a noisy tangle.

A cold gust swept through, and the entire valley fell dead silent.

Even the Chuckna Warriors on Height 415 looked at each other—did that Jiepeng Division Commander have a brain hemorrhage or something?

Oono Hayato and the Jiepeng Officers behind him turned deathly pale.

A woman. There was actually a woman inside that Mecha. That Leray guy not only brought a woman to war, he was openly flirting and roughhousing with her in front of all these people!

Against that brazen horseplay, Oono Hayato’s earlier words suddenly felt embarrassingly self‑important and laughable.

An indescribable sense of humiliation rushed straight to his head. Anger burned along Oono Hayato’s nerves. His fingers almost crushed the communicator in his hand. His face felt like it was on fire; he had never known his own cheeks could get this hot!

Driven past rage into a cold laugh, Oono Hayato played with the communicator between his long pale fingers, eyes half‑narrowed, gaze sharp as a blade. His laughter grew icier as he said, ”Laugh all you want. When I smash your Mecha to scrap and, right in front of you, strip your woman bare and throw her into the ranks for the soldiers to enjoy, I’ll see if you can still laugh!”

What answered him was silence.

The laughing, tussling Mecha suddenly went quiet. As he watched that White Mecha slowly turn its head in his direction, Oono Hayato felt a strange, inexplicable chill of foreboding.

He ground his teeth and forced out a low, icy word between them.

”Attack!”

The moment the word left his mouth, countless Energy Cannons instantly saturated the center of the encirclement.

Dense white beams swept across the ground one after another, and deafening explosions filled heaven and earth. As the ground shook, the Falcon Camp, massed on the outer edge, began a high‑speed charge at the same time. A few seconds later, those semi‑Human-shaped Mecha were like a sharp dagger, driving through the bow‑wave gap of the opening ring, lunging viciously toward the Central Battlefield.

”Kill!”

As the first wave of Mechanical Violence streaked across the sky and dove like the Milky Way in waterfall form toward the smoke‑shrouded Central Battlefield, over three thousand Jiepeng Mecha erupted in a sky‑shaking roar of murderous fury!

”Baby, quit tickling me for a sec. Let me finish them off and then I’ll play with you.” Amid the thunderous battle cries, the laughing voices came back on, a breathless voice shaking as it spoke.

The avalanche‑like charge of the Mechanical Violence and the hailstorm‑dense barrage of fire converged at the battlefield center, forming a raging shockwave that blasted outward in all directions with an earth‑shattering boom.

”Boom!” ...In the middle of that colossal blast, ten white figures flared into view like lightning in the swirling sandstorm.

The Chuckna Warriors on Position 415 felt their hearts almost leap out of their throats.

They saw those ten figures Jumping Through the meteor‑shower of Energy Cannons. The dense barrage of fire seemed to be avoiding them, skimming past their sides and slamming straight into the ground, kicking up one mushroom cloud after another.

Their movements were so graceful, so precise, so fast! Like a Heavenly Pegasus galloping across the sky, like a white steed flashing past a crack in time. Every step landed perfectly on the beat of a racing heartbeat; as the heartbeat quickened, so did their pace. Finally, they converged, bristling together into a standard triangular assault wedge, a demonic blade tearing through the void in the red‑tinged storm of dust, storming ahead at lightning speed. Directly in front of them surged the tidal wave of Mechanical Violence attack units!

One hundred meters, fifty meters, ten meters...

The two sides’ Mecha slammed together; in an instant the lines were a tangled mess of steel!

”Kill!” With a single explosive shout.

A flash of white light, a column of fire soaring skyward—more than a dozen Jiepeng Mechanical Violence Mecha were hurled into the air like shattered stalks of straw.

Fatty’s hand speed jumped to seventy‑three actions per second. Under his control, the Mecha turned into a white meteor. He swept his ion light saber across; one Mechanical Violence Mecha only had time to bring its ion battle axe up vertically—

After the blade flashed, the severed axe head spun into the sky, and the semi‑Human-shaped Mecha’s abdomen was sliced straight open. Loose components, jolted free by the high‑speed engine, were flung outward as the bisected chassis crashed to the ground in two pieces, skidding and grinding, throwing up dirt and sparks before plowing into the ranks of their comrades’ Mecha Group.

”Idiot.” Fatty let out a dark little chuckle.

During the earlier raids, he hadn’t let anyone go all out. The Twelfth Generation Mecha’s performance had always been held down to the level of a Tenth Generation Mecha.

Back during the field tests, his understanding of this Mecha had been shallow. But after piloting it to raid the base and then brawling it out in the middle of the Jiepeng Mecha Group, Fatty knew that this Mecha—built from the peak tech of all the Fei Alliance nations—had close‑quarters performance pushed to the absolute limit of this era.
