Chapter 1219: Chapter 25: The Blade That Breaks the Net! (3)

The portraits of great generals in the Great Generals Record rapidly flashed across his mind, and Fatty’s fast-moving hands on the mechanical computer stopped. As he looked at the Simulation Map before him, countless data, countless circuits, countless commands seemed to erupt like a volcano from the depths of his brain. Fatty suddenly felt enlightened.

If the previous ambushes were his progress at the strategic level, then this was the first time he truly touched the pulse of real-time combat command!

This was not a simulation program’s paper warfare, not a prediction in the Combat Department, not a carefully planned ambush, nor a brute-force clash without direction. Rather, it was being on the battlefield, truly dissecting the battle piece by piece, having every shift of the battlefield, every form of change, fully in his grasp!

Formation changes, firepower intensity, distance, timing, his own troops, the enemy’s weaknesses... In his vision, the hundreds of mechas’ battle gradually became a slaughter of countless armored groups.

So this is the scene in those great generals’ minds. They stand high above the clouds, looking down on all living things. Where their fingers point is a crisscrossing chessboard. Everyone is on this chessboard, under their control.

”Military command is to continuously use commanding skills on the battlefield to deal the maximum blow to the enemy while striving to maintain your own combat strength. Whether it is time, terrain, or tactics, everything serves the ultimate goal of victory. Advancing and retreating freely, controlling your own pace, maneuvering the enemy, luring them into the conditions you set, and annihilating them.”

”Let’s take a look at this battle, a campaign commanded by the great general Puloman three hundred years ago in Saleria. At the time, he was a Vice Admiral, resisting the invasion of the Nademick Dynasty as division commander of the Army First Group Army Second Army. The battle on the Tanton Plain was his masterpiece. His extreme commanding skills shone brilliantly in this campaign. The Second Army, with the strength of four Armored Divisions, fought against the Nademick Dynasty’s sixteen Armored Divisions. In the end, Puloman commanded his troops to win the war at the speed of one order per minute.”

Fatty seemed to see Russell eloquently narrating in front of him again.

”...Look, thousands of slaughters all under Puloman’s control. He broke down his Second Army into hundreds of combat units, each unit executing precise tactical maneuvers under his orders. Of course, these tactical maneuvers could fail. However, Puloman prepared thoroughly for this. Whether in time, troops, or space, he left room for maneuver. Ultimately, with razor-sharp command, he kept winning local victories, leading to overall success in the campaign. In this battle, he annihilated twelve Armored Divisions of the Nademick Dynasty and routed the remaining four. His own losses were less than twenty percent. Looking back now, it’s almost unbelievable. It’s unlikely that anyone in the future could achieve such an extreme level of command.”

Fatty looked at his mechanical computer, chuckling softly.

Back then, Puloman had ample strategic room and time to have backup plans and options. But he didn’t. Yet, he’s only commanding a company of merely sixty or seventy mechas, but others can’t reach extreme command; he can!

Isn’t it just setting up connected ambushes, performing cross-attacks, providing overlapping covers!

Today, I’m going to take these bastards down!

”Division Commander!”

”General!”

On position 415, dozens of Chuckna officers stood anxiously behind Pei Litong, who quietly observed the battlefield below with an electronic long-range viewer, like ants on a hot pan, spinning around nervously.

”Division Commander, let’s go!”

Regiment Two Commander Zheng Qin almost pleaded.

Behind them, Milan and Boswell stood pale-faced. Countless soldiers filled the trenches of the position, with zigzagging trenches spreading back into the mountain, boundless.

”The enemy is not yet in chaos!”

The one answering the officers was Old Marshal Li Cunxin.

Old Marshal, with a dark visage and throbbing veins on his forehead, gritted his teeth and said, ”We have gathered all the mechas, a total of only twenty vehicles; the rest are infantry. Going up now is not only fruitless but will cause greater losses.”

”Are we just going to watch?” Wang Yuan, the director of Thirteenth Division Combat Department who first reported this unit, cared little about standing before the Republic Marshal, shouting with red eyes, ”We have two regiments, enough Energy Cannons, and Portable Missiles. As soon as we attack, we can crumble the enemy.”

”Crumble the enemy?” Pei Litong put down the electronic long-range viewer, turned around, his refined face full of struggle, ”Colonel, do you know how many troops are in the opponent’s base? Do you know what the mobility value of the armored units is! With our infantry mobility, what price will we pay to leave the shelter of the position to support an infantry unit three kilometers away?!”

Wang Yuan’s face turned pale; he ferociously punched the metal bulletproof wall, and blood instantly seeped from his knuckles.

Every word Pei Litong said pierced his heart like needles.

Since the division’s SkyNet was suppressed, let alone the reality of the opponent’s numbers, mobilization deployment, even the communication link between position 415 and the rear has been intermittent!
