Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1233: Chapter 30: Thunderbolt Mecha (Part 2)

Pei Litong’s eyes lit up, and Li Cunxin beside him also suddenly paused, turning his head.

”So what you mean is... taking the initiative to attack?!”

”Hardly attacking,” Fatty smiled with an incredibly innocent and charming expression, ”With just ten mechas, at most we can do is harass them a bit. We still have to rush to Hot Spring Town to join the offensive.”

A bit of harassment. Seeing the somewhat shy expression on this Leray Fatty Major General’s face, and the bare-bottomed little boy riding on his neck, for some reason, all the Chuckna officers felt a chill invade them, and the hairs on their bodies stood on end.

——————————

The troops are preparing to move out.

In the vast and crisscrossing battlefield, soldiers in dirty dark green combat uniforms began to prepare for departure.

They silently and carefully put on tactical vests, distributed energy magazines, activated the auxiliary mechanical attachments on their combat uniforms, strapped on heavy backpacks, and held guns. Leaning against the pit walls on both sides of the position, they formed into two long queues, quietly waiting for departure orders.

From here to Hot Spring Town, it’s over two hundred kilometers. Even at full speed, mechas take two hours to run the distance. If relying only on two legs, even with a forced march without sleep, it would take more than forty hours.

However, modern infantry combat has long been mechanized. Equipped with numerous off-road trucks, transport mechas, armed troop transport mechas, and self-propelled artillery, infantry divisions possess sufficient mobility. Even though many off-road trucks have been abandoned along this escape route and transport mechas suffered heavy damage, by relying on comprehensive marching procedures and maximizing mechanical transport, combined with the auxiliary mechanical attachments of the infantry combat uniform, it is expected to reach Hot Spring Town in less than five hours.

The mechanical attachment device consists of metal wires clinging to the soldier’s limbs. It functions through miniature engines and machinery, aiding soldiers in bearing loads, conserving energy during long-distance marches, speeding up movement, and enhancing jumping and climbing abilities.

This device was once a combat gear in ancient Earth times. However, with the advent of energy weapons and mechas, changes in warfare modes, along with high manufacturing costs and an absurd cost-performance ratio for limited combat applications, it was gradually improved and cost reduced, becoming a modern auxiliary device.

At the rear position of the 5th District, the transport mecha of the mech research group had already retracted its mechanical legs and stabilizing rods, folded its armored cover, and moved to the edge of a circular site. Amidst the huge roar, Boswell and Little Pi pointed sternly at the little kid, while Milan held his chin, together with twenty other scientists in white research suits and over a dozen Chuckna officers, all stared intently at the ten white mechas darting and weaving in the center of the site.

These white human-shaped mechas stood 760 centimeters tall and weighed 48 tons. Their heads bore helmet-like iron faces, with fine folds layered over one another, stretching to the nape. On their broad shoulders, curved streamlined armor held openable metal compartments on each side. When opened, they revealed two energy cannons with a caliber of 112 millimeters.

The mecha’s limbs were long, covered entirely by fish-scale type external armor. At joints like the elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles, they featured beautifully styled black joint armor. On the back of the mecha, two swings were concealed at the sides of tear-shaped auxiliary thrusters. Once unfolded, they resembled eagle wings.

The entire mecha exuded an incredibly stunning beauty. But considering their design parameters, people would realize these are currently Fei Alliance Technology’s most advanced killing machines!

Provisional name for the mecha: Thunderbolt.

Thunderbolt delivers a strike that makes heaven and earth crumble. The sudden movement of spring thunder heralds the rebirth of all things—upon these mechas rests the hope of all Fei Alliance people.

In the center of the site, one mecha leapt forth, rolling twice in mid-air, kicking its right leg towards another white mecha. The attacked mecha quickly retreated, leaving three Phantom streaks in the air. After the first landing, as it rose again, its Phantom had expanded to six streaks, then twelve, then twenty-four.

One relentlessly pursued, the other swiftly retreated. The two mechas dashed back and forth like lightning in the narrow center of the site, amidst the other eight mechas. In mere seconds, it was unsure how many rounds they had completed, nor how many attacks they had unleashed. Those Phantom streaks left onlookers nearby astounded and entranced.

Is this the power of a War God Level Mech Knight?!

The officers watched the data collection instruments screens nearby, with mouths open wide enough to swallow a big duck egg... Twelfth Generation Thunderbolt, coupled with War God Level control skills. This is not merely ten mechanical warriors; these are ten reapers!

No wonder that Leray Major General didn’t even consider the raid on Jiepeng Base a challenge. With such mech knights’ methods, Jiepeng’s Eighth and Ninth Generation mechas probably wouldn’t withstand even a single move!

Being targeted by such a group, just thinking about it makes one’s hair stand on end and chill one’s spine!

The officers were certainly shocked, but the research personnel were even more gleaming-eyed, trembling uncontrollably with excitement.

After these mechas were manufactured, they went through thousands of computer simulations and hundreds of base performance tests. But no matter how they tested, the mech knights driving them had at most reached Level 9.

Having War God Level mech knights conduct tests was an unexpected joy for all researchers.
