Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1229: Chapter 28: Joy (Part 2)

The peaceful and tranquil life is nothing but an illusion and fantasy. I have been swept into the vortex of this era of war. Unable to escape, I can only struggle endlessly.

The blast door was gently pushed open, and Boswell walked in. Fatty quickly closed his eyes and lay on Milan’s lap.

”Get up, stop playing dead in front of me!” Boswell grabbed a chair and sat down in front of Fatty.

”I’m a bit dizzy...” Fatty reluctantly sat up, the flesh on his waist pinched twice hard by Milan.

”I know you’re tired...” Boswell sighed, patting Fatty on the shoulder: ”But now is not the time for you to rest. When the war is over, we’ll take Little Pi back to Gallipalan Laboratory and live our lives.”

Milan clung to Fatty, thinking sweetly about the future life. Turning her head, she saw Fatty looking embarrassed, hesitating as if he wanted to speak but stopped... Feeling great hatred, she kicked him hard. Three sons? Ann Lei, Bonnie... this dead Fatty, who knows how many more he has!

”Little Pi hasn’t returned yet; I’m a bit worried...” Boswell didn’t notice the small gestures between the two disciples, shaking his head: ”Forget it, let’s talk about business first.”

He looked at Fatty and said, ”You know about the Fei Alliance Joint Army establishing a joint mecha research department to develop the twelfth generation mecha, right?”

Fatty nodded. He should have been involved in this matter from the beginning. Who knew that on the way to Chuckna, they were attacked, and fate led him on a big detour to Mars Free World.

”The experimental mecha has been finalized...” Boswell continued: ”This time, we brought ten prototypes over, originally planning to conduct individual and squad combat tests. Who knew, we encountered a sneak attack from Jiepeng. All the way over, we could only do our best to protect them because we feared the mechas would fall into enemy hands, so we dismantled all the mechas. Even in the most dangerous times, we never used them.”

Saying this, Boswell glanced at Fatty: ”Earlier at the command post, I heard them say that the mecha warriors you brought are all War God-level mechs?”

Fatty proudly nodded: ”There are now about 500 Quasi-Mechanical Battle Gods with hand speeds above 65, 3,000 Level 10 mecha warriors in the bandit army, and almost 18 million eighth and ninth-level mechs now. In the future, there will be even more!”

Fatty wasn’t bragging.

Since the end of the Mars battle, the bandit army has already completed its control over Mars. Although the Feiyang people arrived later, thanks to achieving victory in the mecha arena by defeating several Mecha Gods representing the old forces of Mars, the bandit army’s prestige is at its peak. Mecha sects that joined under the bandit’s banner already account for 80% of all Mars.

These civilian mechs have been trained since childhood in the modern warfare, increasingly reliant on close combat. The accumulation of fighting skills by the major sects is not something the military, which has been detached from combat for thousands of years, can compare to.

The modern military of various countries has also started focusing on close combat, but Fatty, at this crucial time, has moved ahead of everyone.

In this crucial moment of leadership, the subsequent gaps are calculated by thousands of miles.

Moreover, the mecha martial arts mastered by Fatty is far more core than the core techniques of these sects! With his guidance and instruction, the level of mechs joining the bandit army has made tremendous progress. The original titles and levels such as Mechanical Warrior, Mechanical Knight, Commander, etc., are not even mentioned now.

The traditional grading assessments cannot measure the level of the bandit army mechs at all.

These mechs have entered a new mecha realm and have seen a new world. For them, those assessment standards have become obsolete things, and using them to measure themselves now is completely a joke!

If one must measure, then before, a Level 3 Mecha Fighter, after the assessment, might have the level of a Mechanical Commander!

Fatty was speaking the truth, but to Boswell and Milan, it was like a thunderbolt. They did not doubt Fatty’s honesty; they only doubted their ears.

The modern armored division establishments vary across countries, but most maintain around 6,000 people. Among them, only about 4,000 are combat units, and the rest are logistics, transportation, maintenance, and engineering troops. The numbers are far fewer than the infantry divisions, which can easily reach ten thousands, even thirty or forty thousand.

This is caused by the particularity of mecha combat. Although in this era, mechas have become an indispensable part of human society, extensively used even in construction, agriculture, and mining, those who can control mechas in life and death battles are, after all, the minority. Not to mention that countries cannot afford to produce so many mechas, even if mechas were supplied without limit, the selection rate of 1 in 500 would make these mechas display pieces in a warehouse!

The 20,000 mechs in Fatty’s hands represent four entire armored divisions! Twelve armored groups! And these are all super armored units composed of eighth and ninth-level mecha warriors!

What does this mean?

Consider how the Gazalin Mythical Army, with a single Level 9 Mecha Warrior and several thousand fifth and sixth-level mechs plus the main seventh and eighth-level mechs, could dominate invincibly, and you will understand the terrifying power of this force in Fatty’s hands!

On the battlefield, such a division can defeat an enemy ten times its size head-on! In any battle, it is a crushing force!

Leray ancestors protect us!

Boswell broke into loud laughter, Milan hugged Fatty and kissed him passionately!

These are the forces to revive Leray!

The stimulated Fatty instantly lost control, rummaging through the box bottoms like showing off treasured possessions: ”We’ve already rendezvoused with Teacher Russell, captured two Royal Elephant-class Fleets of the Binart Empire. Also, we now have modular warships that can pass through any small Jump Point. Mars is our base! Additionally, we have stealth technology... we’ve even captured the twelfth generation mechas of the Binart Empire, all the data is with Pipi...”

The more Boswell listened, the brighter his eyes became, smiling until his mouth couldn’t close. Meanwhile, under Fatty’s pointing fingers, Milan, thrilled, hugged and kissed him again and again.

”...all of these I’ve kept hidden for the critical moment in the Resk Battle, then we’ll bring them out as our trump card!” Fatty was trembling with excitement: ”By then, I want to show them the power of Leray!”

”Good, good!” Boswell laughed, vigorously patting Fatty on the shoulder, tears of joy flowing: ”I’m already seventy years old this year, I always thought I wouldn’t live to see Leray’s victory, wouldn’t see the day of returning to my roots, and would die in exile in Chuckna. I didn’t think, today, you showed me hope.”

The old man opened his arms, hugging Fatty tightly: ”Fatty, thank you.”

Hearing the old man’s choked voice, Fatty’s nose turned sour too.

”Since you’ve told me so much good news...” The old man released Fatty and stood up. Pacing two steps in the small room, suddenly, he became energetic with radiance: ”I also have good news for you!”

”What good news?” Fatty suddenly felt inexplicably nervous and turned his head to see Milan, already tearful, nodding frantically at him.

”I’ve cracked the Space Jump Point technology!”
