Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1242: Chapter 33: Just Wait!

”General Tian.”

As a voice echoed through the valley, the Jiepeng Mechas shifted their formation amidst the smoke, covering each other as they broke away from the onslaught of ten white Mechas. A few minutes later, as a few isolated Fushan Mechas exploded and shattered, the entire battlefield turned into a thick circular encirclement centered around the ten white Thunderbolt Mechas.

”Who?” Fatty waved his hand, halting the fighters who were eager to plunge back into the Mecha group, looking around in confusion: ”Who called me?”

”It’s an honor to see you here.” Oono Hayato held the communicator of the Command Mecha, his tone cold and firm: ”I am Oono Hayato, the division commander of the 59th Armored Division of the Jiepeng Royal Army...”

”Never heard of you.” Fatty looked increasingly bewildered.

Oono Hayato, renowned throughout the entire Jiepeng Army, stiffened slightly, then smiled faintly: ”I’m just a nobody... It’s General Tian’s name that rings out like thunder.”

”You know me?” Fatty asked, a bit surprised, his eyes darting around. Milan gently grasped his hand, and they exchanged a glance, both filled with a sense of skepticism and uncertainty.

Fatty hadn’t clashed with Jiepeng in the Bermuda Star System, nor was he part of the top command of the Fei Alliance Joint Army. As a Major General of a small country, not many people knew of him, and most would forget him as soon as they turned away, let alone study him. What’s more, few knew of his presence here, yet a Jiepeng division commander called out his name. It seemed quite intriguing.

The voice carried far to Hill 415, where the position remained silent.

From the hill, the emerging Jiepeng Mechas from the base appeared like a tide, encircling the ten white Thunderbolt Mechas completely.

This time, the Jiepeng people had surprisingly deployed two entire armored groups of the 59th Division and three battalions of the 172nd Division. The total number of Mechas exceeded three thousand, packed tightly together beyond counting. In this Mecha group, Fatty and his men were like a few white foam bubbles in a dusk-black tide.

What shocked the Jiepeng soldiers the most was the sharp triangular assault formation of more than four hundred Jiepeng Mechas positioned outside the front-facing encirclement.

Unlike the usual Jiepeng mainstream eighth-generation Fushan Mechas and ninth-generation Spirit Cats, these were semi-humanoid Mechas. With lion-like lower bodies and humanoid upper halves, these Mechas looked fierce and menacing, full of explosive power. Their bodies leaned slightly forward, as if they might suddenly lunge forward at any moment, tearing apart every enemy before them.

Many Chuckna Warriors recognized these Mechas. Their features completely matched the identification features of the legendary Jiepeng Army’s highest-configured tenth-generation Mechas, the Mechanical Violence!

This was the strongest combat power of the Jiepeng Army. Despite being a full ten years behind the two super empires in technical accumulation, the Jiepeng Empire’s top-notch Mechas had a total deployment of no more than ten thousand units. Those capable of piloting such Mechas were the elite among elites. And now, they appeared here, clearly targeting Fatty and his men.

The warriors on the position were anxious. To deal with ten Thunderbolts, the Jiepeng people not only deployed an entire division, used their most advanced Mechas, but even delayed with words to set up leisurely. This should have been a minor tactic, yet Fatty and his team naively stood in the center, engaging in a naive conversation with the enemy, oblivious to the changing surroundings!

”Of course, I know you...” Oono Hayato twirled the communicator between his fingers, his eyes hooded, speaking with amusement: ”Captured the Gazalin Emperor and took down two of Hanfrey’s Elephant-level Fleets; with such feats, if my Western Alliance didn’t focus on you, our entire intelligence department would be negligent and deserved to be sent to military court.”

This time, Fatty was genuinely startled, and stuttered, ”Focus?”

”But...” Oono Hayato ignored Fatty’s question and continued speaking: ”I’m somewhat puzzled. As they say, the son of a thousand pounds does not sit under the eaves; as the bandit army leader, you should be in your command center, not risking yourself by appearing here... You shouldn’t have come; it’s too dangerous here.”

Inside the Mecha, Milan smirked, exchanging a knowing smile with Fatty.

”I was wrong, I won’t come next time,” Fatty said with a broad grin, taking the opportunity to hold Milan’s hand, ”Can I leave now?”

”Pah! Fatty, I never asked you to come,” Milan lightly spat, feeling sweetness in her heart. She knew exactly why Fatty came. Even in this battlefield surrounded by powerful enemies, it felt like a moonlit night. She giggled, blowing gently onto Fatty’s face, whispering, ”Now that you’re here, can you even escape?!”

”Let you go?” Oono Hayato was taken aback, then burst into laughter: ”Does General Tian now think it might be a little too late to say such words?”

As numerous Jiepeng Mechas maneuvered swiftly in the periphery, a gigantic circular encirclement had formed, with rows upon rows of Jiepeng Mechas forming interlocking formations, encasing the center, stretching endlessly into the distance. Single Soldier Mechas, Medium-sized Mechas, Heavy Mechas... countless in number.

Oono Hayato’s voice turned gradually colder: ”You’ve killed so many Jiepeng soldiers of mine, and you think you can just come and go as you please?”

The officers standing behind Oono Hayato looked at the white Mecha in the encirclement as if looking at an idiot. They acknowledged these guys were formidable, but they absolutely didn’t believe that with just ten Mechas, they could break through the multi-layered encirclement of the entire armored division. Let alone combat; even if they lined up to let these Mechas kill, it would exhaust them!
