Chapter 1207: Chapter 21: Break Through!

The exhausted team, in silence, waded forward along a stream.

The stream meandered down between the valleys, the dense branches on the steep mountains around it growing horizontally, squeezing the sky above the valley to just a thin line.

The water splashed up into fine droplets as the massive mechanical legs stomped through. The pebbles and silt at the riverbed were stirred up, taking a long time to settle again after the Mecha team had passed. The dawn sunlight was already spilling over the curving silhouettes of the distant mountains, casting patches of light, smearing the landscape with a pale golden glow.

The morning mist was illuminated by the light, wrapping the green hills in clusters of white.

A warning from the little kid sounded in his ears. The team quickly dispersed into the woods on both banks of the stream, and under the cliffs.

Two minutes later, two Jiepeng Fighters roared past overhead. After another three minutes, three more fighters from another direction also flew over menacingly.

In the valley, it was silent. Only the sound of the stream and the occasional bird call from the woods could be heard.

Fatty opened the cockpit, taking a deep breath of the moist and fresh air by the riverside at the bottom of the valley.

The cool wind couldn’t dispel the exhaustion that surged like a tide. In this picturesque scenery, he slid down the dew-covered Mecha exterior, swearing, and landed heavily on the ground, sitting down.

”Rest for twenty minutes.”

With Fatty’s command, the cockpit covers of the Mechas opened, and the warriors, exhausted beyond recognition, crawled out of the Mechas, barely managing to find a slightly flat spot to lie down and couldn’t move anymore.

More than two hundred warriors, whether bandit army soldiers, surviving prisoners of war, or infantry from the front lines, hadn’t closed their eyes for a whole day and night. Under normal circumstances, perhaps this wouldn’t count for much. However, to move five hundred kilometers overnight and, with the strength of a company, consecutively annihilate three Jiepeng Armored Battalions, the intensity of such combat was simply not something ordinary people could withstand.

Fatty lay on the slippery grass, utterly exhausted but unable to sleep. Turning his head, he couldn’t help but let out a laugh. Among the group of Chuckna soldiers were about twenty Jiepeng soldiers, mingling harmoniously.

The surrounding Chuckna Warriors had all changed back into their warfare gear, only he and a group of bandit soldiers still wore the Jiepeng combat uniforms.

When inside the Mechas, it didn’t matter what they wore; the Chuckna Warriors changed back because, after all, they had to return to their own units and feared the sudden appearance of a group wearing Jiepeng uniforms driving Jiepeng Mechas might cause misunderstandings.

But a group of bandit soldiers, shot down still in bandit army uniforms, those used for daily wear and on ships, were entirely different from modern army combat uniforms designed for cold, radiation, wear resistance, and camouflage. Naturally, there was no need for them to change. Although the gray Jiepeng uniforms were unattractive, they were more comfortable than wearing rags.

Within less than a minute, snoring could already be heard from all around.

His mind was muddled, yet incredibly clear and excited. Fatty leaned against a big tree, lighting a cigarette in frustration.

The place he was at now was less than thirty kilometers from the enemy’s 172nd Division 3rd Group’s base under Hill 415, and there was a temporary Prisoner of War Camp in between.

The location of the Prisoner of War Camp, the number of prisoners held, the guarding force—Pipi had already thoroughly investigated an hour ago. However, knowing that their three Armored Battalions were completely wiped out, the Jiepeng people unleashed their entire military force, searching everywhere. The entire area under Jiepeng’s control was in chaos, with tensions running high.

After ambushing the enemy’s 172nd Division 2nd Regiment 1st Battalion, this entire journey had been nothing but an escape. It was hard to tell how many Jiepeng reconnaissance teams, fighters, and checkpoint inspections they had encountered.

If it hadn’t been for the little kid’s fierce resolve, squeezing every bit of power from the electronic Mechas, if it hadn’t been for his own innate instincts, and if it hadn’t been for the skills he honed in clandestine ops on the Sky-Filling Fire network during the Leray National Defense War, they would likely have been caught by the Jiepeng.

He broke off a twig, drawing two circles on the ground, staring blankly at the soil.

These three attacks were astonishingly successful. All the combat plans and simulation operations had been done entirely by him. The effects of conducting hundreds of simulations daily in the previous period were now evident. In terms of battle command, he was no longer that rookie who hadn’t even read a basic military textbook.

Margaret, Fang Xiang, even Chekov, Carl, were all graduates of prestigious military academies. The first two were especially talented. One was a student of Sa’leria’s great general Tolstoy, and the other had been groomed for twenty years by the Military God Hastings, having commanded large-scale battles from behind the scenes at the age of eighteen.

During that time, he poured nearly all his time into studying military theory, analyzing battle cases, and conducting simulation exercises.

When the warship flew through the Mars Free Channel, he studied. When they reached the Longbow Star System, he studied. Before meeting Russell, he captured people for exercises; after meeting Russell, he gathered more people for simulation exercises. Even Russell didn’t escape. Sometimes, after a busy day, he’d sleep only two or three hours before getting up to continue studying.

Fatty knew what he had to do. The people around him knew it too. No matter how he tossed and turned, everyone else just watched from a distance, never interfering.

Everyone knew that on this Fatty’s shoulders rested a word, responsibility!

A man will always bear responsibility, but this poor Fatty carries especially more and heavier burdens. Those are responsibilities to the Leray Federation, to the Mars Free World, to Saleria...

If before, Fatty studied Mecha knowledge frantically at the Gallipalan Military Laboratory, learning all sorts of bizarre skills and practicing combat and Mecha control in the gravity room to survive this war, now he did it for the entire bandit army.

By this time, Fatty knew that what he previously knew was no longer enough.

From a mechanic soldier to a Major General. From a destroyer wandering the Free World to commanding the entire Mars. From a ragged fleet to possessing the strength of eight A-Class fleets, from dozens of Space Mecha Warriors on the Blue Rose to having a Super Mecha Army composed of countless Advanced Mecha Warriors....... along this path, the responsibility on his shoulders has become heavier and heavier!

Fatty never dared to carefully contemplate how heavy the responsibility on him truly is. He only knows that if he still sees himself as a mechanic soldier, a Mecha Warrior running around and fighting to survive, perhaps one day he will bury these people following him, bury his own and their future!

In this chaotic world, the days relying on assembling Mechas to escape have unknowingly slipped away for three full years! Since he cannot chase back the lost time, nor can he put down this responsibility that unknowingly presses on his shoulders, he can only learn, gritting his teeth to learn. Usually reading books, simulating confrontation with Margaret and others, during war, standing by Fang Xiang’s side, staring wide-eyed and watching. Learning while fighting!

Throughout these days, he himself cannot remember how much he has learned from Margaret and others. Every day’s confrontation, his opponents aren’t just Margaret and Fang Xiang, but Hastings and Tolstoy. Countless failures, countless setbacks have resulted in his numerous rebirths with the most determined spirit among all of humanity.

The thousands of classic battle cases forced onto him by Russell, countless military rules have become instinct in his mind. Even if he now forgets all the battle cases that Russell taught him after breaking them down, he can use his knowledge to redeploy command, reconstruct the causes and effects of those battles! Then, use his Simulation Technique to restore the details!

If past battles only saw Fatty rely on instinct, luck, and cleverness for victory, then this assault on the three armored battalions of Jiepeng is a masterpiece he carefully planned and executed from beginning to end!

Fatty couldn’t sleep, after three attacks, his mind resembled an artist, full of excitement after just completing his first great work in life.

Simultaneously, he also felt some worry.

Even though this battle is flawless in all aspects, the role of Pipi and the elite fighters accounts for more than half! Adding to the fact that it was a sneak attack, the tests he faced weren’t that severe.

But now, Jiepeng people have activated dynamic passwords, verifying identities for every troop, and even individual in the combat zone. Little kid can no longer unrestrainedly spy inside SkyNet as he did before.

To break into the enemy SkyNet’s sealed chambers without being noticed, even for Artificial Intelligence, requires a long time.

No electronic fortress exists that the little kid cannot breach. As long as there is a program, there are vulnerabilities. Pipi itself is an intelligent program, when it roams the electronic world, every unit is its kind, subordinate, friend, or part of its body.

Humans can stop it for a while, but can’t stop it forever.

Given enough time, with dynamic passwords and countless sealed chambers added, SkyNet will become the little kid’s playground once again!

Unfortunately, he hasn’t much time left.

From information obtained in SkyNet, the enraged Jiepeng people have already set up an inescapable net throughout the mountains. To catch this troop that moves among them, they even postponed the overall attack time. Meanwhile, as Jiepeng’s revenge, two thousand Chuckna Soldiers in the Prisoner of War Camp will be collectively executed!

Looking at the two circles before him in the mud, Fatty knew this was a trap!

Jiepeng people are the most murderous, this is undeniable, executing prisoners is simply a tradition of their country. Psychologically and morally, they endure no burden.

Announcing it openly on SkyNet at this time is just to show their adversaries!

It’s imaginable, what kind of net would be set up around the Prisoner of War Camp near the front line base. This net won’t be too dense, if it’s dense, the bait won’t work! Thus, Jiepeng people will give opportunities! Even if they can’t annihilate this army whose size they do not know, they must maintain its trace. Luring it out is victory.

According to the troop deployment in this area, Jiepeng people can use 172 division’s 3rd group holding the frontline, with the remaining three battalions from the other two groups and the fast approaching two groups from the 59 division, to squeeze the center.

To rescue prisoners, one must jump into this circle!

Watching the circles in the mud, Fatty’s eyes gleamed. If it were Margaret and Hastings, they might abandon rescue, countering strategies, focusing on depleting the enemy’s active force. Strike each part, then wipe out a battalion! If it were Fang Xiang and Tolstoy, perhaps they would go into the danger zone, saving as much as possible!

And himself?! If contact with the 415 post can be established, if Chuckna people have usable mobile forces, using the enemy’s encirclement time gap, it isn’t too difficult. But now......

Fatty took a branch and fiercely drew a straight line through the two circles.

Goddammit, scared the hell out of me!

This perilous path, I must charge forward!
