Chapter 1232: Chapter 30: Thunderbolt Mecha

Li Cunxin and Pei Litong both shook their heads.

Fatty’s strategic vision was in agreement with theirs, but there was a huge divergence in specific tactical strategies. They never imagined that this Major General of Leray would want to use ten Mecha to support an infantry camp in holding the 415 position against at least five armored groups’ continuous assaults and bombardments.

This idea was simply too insane.

”Absolutely not!”

Li Cunxin abruptly stood up, saying, ”My suggestion is to leave a regiment at 415. Rely on the position to hold for four hours. The entire army will make a forced march to Hot Spring Town, join forces with Balmer, and break through in one swift strike!”

As he said this, he gave Fatty a firm slap on the shoulder, ”General Tian, I understand your intention to cover our retreat. However, we must use our resources wisely. You and your Mechanical Warriors are the tip of our spear! We need your sharpness to pierce through the enemy’s encirclement and carve out a path to survival for twenty thousand warriors!”

”My meaning...” Fatty began to explain.

However, even before he could finish, Li Cunxin waved his hand, interrupting him.

”To rescue over a thousand of our warriors, to annihilate the enemy’s four armored camps, to disrupt their attack plan and buy us so much time, old man, I am deeply grateful!” Li Cunxin thumped his chest, his grayed hair and beard quivering like an old lion, pacing the room as he said word by word, ”But I absolutely refuse to let you cover our retreat!”

Seeing Fatty was about to speak, he waved his hand again.

”I know your Mechanical Warriors are the best of the best, and honestly, I’m insanely jealous. Such top-notch Mech Knights—I’ve only ever seen one in my many years. There’s only one in all of Chuckna, and that’s our treasure! It’s precisely because they’re so valuable that I can’t let you take risks.”

”Asking for your help in breaking through already leaves us ashamed,” the old man pleaded earnestly, ”asking you to cover the retreat would really make me lose face!”

”Things aren’t as...” Fatty smiled, just beginning to speak when Li Cunxin waved his hand broadly.

”It’s settled then!”

Fatty’s patience was completely exhausted, having his words cut off repeatedly, leaving him fuming with anger, metaphorically seeing red. Known for his fiery temper, he’d curse out Leefer in such a situation without regard for anything like showing respect to the elderly or being polite, things he’d never learned in his lifetime.

At that moment, he bounced up from his chair, intending to speak, when a voice suddenly cursed.

”Settle my ass!” Everyone turned their heads to see a small, naked boy stumble into the command center, waddling along with his tiny and comically flopping member.

Where did this little boy come from?!

The nearby guards instinctively moved to stop the boy. But before they could grab him, he’d already vanished from sight. When they looked again, the doll-like child was next to Fatty, fearlessly pointing at Li Cunxin, ”Old guy, are you nuts?”

The officers in the command center were dumbfounded.

No one found the boy’s sudden appearance surprising.

A few hours earlier, their comrades had returned animatedly recounting stories of this little boy. According to them, not only had this boy successively ambushed and killed ten Jiepeng soldiers to rescue over two hundred prisoners of war, but he was also left behind enemy lines by Major General Fatty to control over a dozen Mecha by himself and distract the enemy.

At that time, everyone thought it was simply unbelievable.

According to common sense, a two- or three-year-old, no matter how gifted, is merely at a babbling age. Recognizing a few thousand characters, speaking a few languages, or even doing a pull-up one-handed are all unsurprising—yet saying he could ambush and kill ten fully armed Jiepeng soldiers, or handle tasks to distract an entire armored camp single-handedly, seemed like a myth!

But now, seeing the child in person, they understood why their comrades had described something so incredible. This child’s movement technique, tone, and demeanor... He was no ordinary toddler but a marvel!

”Why so rude?” Fatty, in a good mood.

With someone else taking up the task, he immediately dismissed the idea of outright cursing. Eyes gleaming, he shot an embarrassed glance at Li Cunxin and reproached the little kid, ”How can you say such things right in front of people?!”

Li Cunxin blew his beard and eyes wide.

.........This mischievous Fatty, it’s on purpose!

”It’s just defending a position!” The little kid pouted, climbing onto Fatty’s shoulders, ”It’s so simple, yet he wants to throw a whole regiment at them. If that’s not crazy, what is?!”

Pei Litong thought quickly, detecting a bit of insight, and immediately asked, ”General Tian, if you were to defend the position, how would you do it?!”

The old man beside him huffed angrily at the little kid, both glaring at each other relentlessly until Li Cunxin had to yield.

Attempting to out-stare this little kid proved futile, since the kid wouldn’t even blink.

”I’m not planning on participating in the defense.” Fatty shook his head vigorously.

The officers, who hoped to hear an ingenious plan, were stunned... What’s wrong with this Fatty?!

Fatty tapped his fingers on the electronic map at the location of the Jiepeng Base, continuing leisurely, ”....I just need to ensure they can’t regroup to attack within ten hours!”
