Chapter 1240: Chapter 32: Falcon Camp (Part 3)

On the ground, there were countless large craters; several big breaches had opened in the base’s outer walls. Thousands of Mechas, like bees in a hive, crowded and surged closely together. Explosions and flames shot up into the sky, flashing continuously among the Mecha Group. At one moment in the east, the next in the south.

Oono Hayato looked gloomily at everything before him. In his ears, there were thunderous cannon sounds; the chaotic sounds of Mecha footsteps; the deafening clashing of metal during close Mecha combat.

Every sound was like a large iron hammer swung in a circle, pounding heavily on his heart!

Three hours ago, the two Armored Groups of the 59th Division he led rushed forward all the way. They coordinated with Zhongshan Yi to try and surround and attack that mysterious unit of the 1st Battalion of the 172nd Division.

But in the end, it turned out to be nothing more than the enemy’s trick to lure away the tiger from the mountain. Oono Hayato had anticipated this and made arrangements in advance. However, the two Armored Camps he sent there still failed to intercept the opponent. When they arrived here, they saw the group of captives breaking out and also witnessed Zhongshan Yi being captured.

This battle was a complete defeat. However, it had nothing to do with Oono Hayato. After all, the unlucky Zhongshan Yi, if the sky fell, it should be Magi to shoulder it, having nothing to do with him. He just found it strange that the whole Jiepeng control area had been turned upside down by only a Mecha Company, continuously wiping out three Armored Camps!

And those Mechas were actually seized in the past!

Rather than sympathy for Zhongshan Yi, he was more interested in finding out who these people were.

But now the situation was different. After Zhongshan Yi was captured, the entire frontline battle was under his command.

According to the message he just received, the terrifying Prince Bobett had already arrived on Canglang Star, and half an hour ago, just dismissed and detained Magi, preparing to send him back to the country for trial.

Even though he was at odds with Magi, Oono Hayato did not feel any schadenfreude over Magi’s misfortune. On the contrary, he could feel Bobett’s icy gaze—the division headquarters had received Bobett’s order, if he cannot break through Hill 415 according to orders, his end would not be much better than Magi’s.

This war, the Imperial Family had prepared for hundreds of years; Resk was either the starting point or the endpoint of the Empire’s expansion, determined by this battle.

Now, Mikami Yuto was launching a fierce assault on Leifeng Star. Trying to seize the initiative as much as possible before the Fei Alliance reinforcements arrive. The Empire’s homeland had also thrown in everything. Even the First Guard, who never left the capital, had been dispatched. Special envoys for aid sent to the Binart Empire, the Desic Empire, and the Naga Federation also went batch after batch.

It can be imagined, at this critical moment that determines the fate of the Empire, how could Bobett allow there to be resistance on Canglang Star, the Headquarters of Resk?! This planet must be purged. Even if the resisters were an ant, they would be crushed before they waved their antennae! The Headquarters must not allow any unsafe factors to exist!

He originally had a complete battle plan. The allocation of troops at hand, the key attack points, coordination with the air force, and time requirements had all been comprehensively considered. But he never dreamed that just when he received the explicit order to prepare to order the troops to enter the attack position and attack Hill 415 round after round, his forward base was surprise attacked!

”Commander!” A sweat-drenched staff officer ran to Oono Hayato, reporting, ”The 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Group of the 172nd Division has been breached. The Battalion Commander Popov has died in battle.”

Oono Hayato seemed not to hear at all, continuing to look expressionlessly at the fierce fighting at the northwest of the base.

Whole two Armored Camps surrounded that small piece of open ground, making it impenetrable. Mechas standing six to nine meters tall and weighing tens of tons, with engine power pushed to the extreme, were far more shocking than the legendary giants.

Yet, in the midst of these seemingly mountain-moving and sea-overturning Mecha Group, ten white figures appeared intermittently.

Where these figures went, people and horses overturned. This was a type of Mecha Oono Hayato had never seen before. Their combat power was extremely terrifying. Ten Mechas were like ten steel blades, while the Jiepeng Mechas trying to trap them were as fragile as tofu. The advantage of numbers vanished in the face of absolute strength.

”When can the 194th Armored Division arrive?” Oono Hayato glanced at the silent officers behind him.

”Still need two hours.” The chief of staff of the division headquarters stepped forward.

Oono Hayato nodded, calling out softly. ”William.”

”Here!” A Lieutenant Colonel officer with golden hair and green eyes stepped forward, his sun-tanned bronze face with sculpture-like sharp lines. The high, raised W-shaped square chin made him look full of confidence and strength.

”Among the ten Mechas opposite, there is a Leray person named Tian Xingjian. This person is very formidable; the feats about him in the Empire’s intelligence are simply unbelievable....” Oono Hayato repeated a part of Bobett’s order, taking off his military cap, his gaze flashing like a blade: ”Take all your subordinates and capture him, or kill him... Please!”

All the officers, including William, were stunned simultaneously.

The ”Falcon Camp” led by William was the most elite and core unit of the 59th Armored Division. It was Oono Hayato’s pride, his precious jewel.
