Chapter 1209: Chapter 8-22: Life-and-Death Battle 3 (Part 1)

This is our own people! Which unit are they from? Where did their Mecha come from, and why are they appearing behind enemy lines? Who are those ten War God Level Mech Knights, and who is commanding this battle?! These questions crash onto the shores of people’s hearts like waves with immense power, leaving them dazed.

After the recording comes the battle report from position 415.

Upon discovering this unit, the command at position 415 quickly dispatched two reconnaissance teams, crossing the firefight line to investigate behind enemy lines.

Based on the intelligence returned successively from drones and reconnaissance teams, the Jiepeng people have lost focus on the offensive. They are conducting large-scale troop movements, searching in all directions. The sky, the ground, densely packed search teams scattered among the mountains.

Even an idiot knows what they’re looking for!

”Commander.....” the Combat Staff said to Pei Litong: ”Position 415 predicts this behind-enemy-lines unit is currently moving toward the front. If they attempt to cross the enemy’s offensive position, given position 415’s current forces, they’re insufficient to support and receive them. Colonel Wang Yuan requests orders.”

”Does anyone recognize these warriors?” Pei Litong personally fixed two images, pointing at the warrior jumping out of the Mecha and several other Chuckna Soldiers in the cabin of an open Heavy Mecha. He was thoughtful; these warriors’ uniforms clearly hadn’t just arrived on the battlefield, and among them were Mech Knights with iron threads on their epaulets, as well as ordinary infantry.

”Commander....” A Captain Staff stepped forward, pointing at one of the infantry in the cabin: ”I know this person; he was a Corporal named Sunx Ping from the 1st Battalion, 2nd Company of the 1792 Regiment I was previously with. I am also friends with their platoon leader Nash, as we are both from the Zhongyuan Star in the Long March Star System. I know all his sharp knives, and Sunx Ping is one of them!”

”The 1st Battalion, 2nd Company of the 1792 Regiment?” another Staff exclaimed: ”Isn’t that the company from position 347?”

Before the words finished, someone had already called up the task log and warrior list of the 1792 Regiment from SkyNet. Upon seeing the soldier number 39597322 and the photo of Corporal Sunx Ping, everyone could completely verify that the warrior under the cabin’s electronic wall lamp was indeed Sunx Ping!

Back then, the last known position of this company was the site of the spaceship crash!

Subsequently, after identification by several Staff transferred from below combat units, two more warriors were recognized. Both were from the 51st Mechanized Infantry Division, all marked lost by SkyNet when the first defensive line was broken.

Pei Litong turned several anxious circles with his hands behind his back.

This is a conundrum!

Troops are about to set off; the only Armored Group has already reached Hot Spring Town, waiting for subsequent troops to arrive. If they don’t leave now, they might never have another chance!

Colonel Wang Yuan at position 415 has assessed the movements of this unit, but that’s only an assessment!

After completing an ambush, this unit turned south, leaving position 415’s field of vision for at least an hour! When they will break through in this direction, and what chain reaction that will trigger from the Jiepeng Army, remains unknown! Any calm Commander would not risk the lives of more than twenty thousand men from two divisions for the uncertain future of an unidentified small unit!

But....... can we just watch as this unit behind enemy lines gets trapped in heavy encirclement, only for these warriors to find out after fighting their way out that the entire second defensive line has been abandoned?!

But....... to support this unit, at least two battalions of troops need to remain and retake position 415. At critical moments, they must even attack from position 415 to draw the enemy’s attention! Without Mecha support, infantry encountering the enemy’s armored units in the wild would have no chance of survival!

You cannot manage soldiers with benevolence; a company hardly seems worth such a significant sacrifice!

Yet this unit has just annihilated an Armored Camp, perhaps more. Since the escape began, there hasn’t been such a thrilling victory! Entire Armored Camp, how precious is that to the current troops? Moreover, there are ten Spirit Cats with Unhindered Stride like gods among them!

Conflict between heaven and man.

Retreat, or not?!

In an instant, countless thoughts had already raced through Pei Litong’s mind, his eyes fixed firmly on position 415.

***********************************************************************************************

At dawn, the early rays of sunlight poured through the mountain fog. The morning glow was colorful. The shadow still enveloped the valley below. The cold wind was howling, tree crowns swaying and pitching, dust swirling over the crater-pocked flatland.

Over two thousand ragged Chuckna Prisoners, under the escort of hundreds of infantry and dozens of Mechas, slowly marched out of the Prisoner of War Camp. Into the dust and sand billowing across the sky.

Three by three, the formation stretched a kilometer long, with the front team already far ahead and the rear team only slowly exiting the camp gate. On the watchtowers on both sides of the camp gate, Jiepeng Guards held guns horizontally, their cold eyes watching these ants whose lives and deaths were under their control.

Exiting the camp gate to the west, one could see the distant mountains upon lifting one’s gaze. The peaks rising and valleys sinking, stacked and layered; following the valley leads to the position 415, which Chuckna Army still controls to this day!

As the battle prisoners advanced toward position 415, they already knew what lay ahead.

In the thin mist of dust and sand, someone unexpectedly shouted, ”Life encounters death with dignity; without death, life lasts a million years,” triggering bursts of laughter in the long queue.
