Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1191: Chapter 8-16: Breakout (Part 2)_5

Pipi is an artificial intelligence, not a deity. The ability to infiltrate the Jiepeng SkyNet was achieved by using the identity identifier from the wreckage of the enemy mecha. Once the Jiepeng initiate their backup password system, even if Pipi could break through the defenses, it would still require a considerable amount of time! Intelligence is always the top priority. A squad that loses its source of intelligence, surrounded by layers of enemy forces, will face dire consequences...

Fatty shivered as he stared blankly, shaking his jowls and shaking his head to himself... I’m peeking at the opponent’s cards and must not let anyone notice. I need to keep it secret!

The surroundings were silent. The warriors had already completed the cleanup of the battlefield and were assembled, waiting for orders.

The leftover supplies and weapons from the Jiepeng were plenty, in addition to a large number of firearms, there were also portable energy cannons and missile launchers, an off-road energy supply vehicle, and a mecha repair vehicle. Additionally, there were four intact self-propelled cannons, a transport mecha, and ample energy ammo along with food and medicine.

Plus, with the four captured mechas, and the weapons gathered from the bodies on the battlefield, it was more than enough to arm 260 people. Looking around, whether they were Chuckna warriors or bandit soldiers, each was loaded with weapons, armed to the teeth. Unneeded items were scattered messily on the ground.

Broken firearms, Jiepeng military flags, empty can boxes, packaging boxes, and several bundles of Jiepeng uniforms pulled from the transport mecha, boots, and cooking utensils...

Uniforms... Fatty glanced at the surrounding bodies of the Jiepeng soldiers, a sudden flash of inspiration crossing his mind, vaguely forming an idea.

He turned back, lying on the ground carefully studying the electronic map. His fingers slowly traced the map’s valley, passed the second line of defense, continued westward, then turned north, moving all the way to Hot Spring Town.

An idea gradually took shape.

”To what extent has your division’s SkyNet system been compressed?” Fatty turned to look at Major Anthony: ”If we want to get in touch with them, which position must we reach?”

Anthony pointed to the map and said: ”We are not clear about the specific location of the division’s headquarters. However, in our position here, the signal is already quite weak. According to the distribution of the division’s anti-detection signal devices and the pace of the enemy’s advance, we must reach a location within two kilometers of the second line of defense to possibly contact the headquarters.”

”Two kilometers!” Fatty gritted his teeth as he looked at the map, thoughts racing through his mind.

Since I can’t destroy their SkyNet from the outside, I’ll sneak in!

Over 200 people, just the right number resembling a Jiepeng battalion after taking a position! Jiepeng weapons, Jiepeng uniforms, Jiepeng mechas... Even if they switch to satellite view, they won’t spot any flaws. Besides, Pipi controls SkyNet. Perfect for me to fish in troubled waters.

Baz, infantry, Meng Xun, Cosmo, Mombarton, Weiseler, Long Tai, Hagrove, Wagstaff, plus myself, exactly ten people. First, let’s get on some mechas and stir things up!

Right now, ahead of me, is a battalion of the Jiepeng 172 Armored Division.

This battalion is going up as a reserve. Their orders are to take over from a Jiepeng Armored Battalion at dawn tomorrow and attack the second line of defense. In other words, these guys will rest and relax tonight — basically, a piece of meat delivered to the door.

”How many mechanical warriors do we have here?!” Fatty asked.

Anthony glanced at the warriors around and said: ”A hundred and twenty-two. They’re all mechanical warriors from the 13th Armored Division, many of whom were captured while temporarily serving as infantry due to lack of mechas during an earlier attack when the position was breached.”

Fatty’s gaze fixed on Hot Spring Town, and he quickly calculated in his mind.

One hundred and twenty-two. Adding our ten, that’s one hundred and thirty-two. A full armored reinforcement company’s strength, plus over a hundred infantry for coordinated combat.

Originally, my mission was to find a way to rescue Boswell and Milan, but now that there are so many people, I can’t just think of myself. If we fight, we might just carve out a path to survival.

He suddenly slapped his knee and stood up.

If you’re going to die, face it with wings spread wide; if not, live a million years—do it!
