Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1160: Chapter 7: Junk Mecha (5)

”Are there any mechas left?” Fatty’s voice trembled a little. Although he knew the possibility of having mechas was almost zero, he clung to a sliver of hope. He could almost be sure that the main base on the other side had already been occupied by the enemy. To walk out of here alive, without mechas, there wasn’t even a glimmer of hope!

”Mechas.....” Nash’s bitter laugh made Fatty’s heart sink. However, the next sentence made his eyes suddenly light up.

Nash said bitterly, ”The Mechanical Armor Team in the company is wiped out. Out of eleven mechas, only one is heavily damaged and unable to move. All the others are destroyed.”

”Unable to move?” Fatty was stunned and then started laughing foolishly, ”Hehehe.”

Nash raised his eyelids in bewilderment, only to be dragged up by Fatty.

”Take me there!”

Under the confused gazes of the warriors, the two bent over and trudged through the mud and water, quickly running toward the mecha trench on the right side of the base. Excited, Fatty only understood how severe the damage was to the mecha when he saw it with his own eyes.

What appeared before them was a Chuckna [Taixing] Eighth Generation Single Soldier Mecha. Upon seeing it, a series of data flooded Fatty’s mind.

[Taixing] stands 720 centimeters tall and weighs 56 tons. It’s completely black. Humanoid structure. It carries two GH2058 monorail cycle ion engines from Marlow Company. Electronic balance system. Double connecting rod reciprocating drive. Equipped with two anti-aircraft missiles and four ground missiles, two 56mm energy machine guns, and a 210mm caliber Energy Cannon.

The characteristic of this mecha is its stable performance, simple structure, and easy maintenance, with very balanced technical indices. Because both its structure and suspension system are new-generation close combat designs, this mecha is the first close-combat version from Chuckna that differs from the Seventh Generation Mecha. Since entering service in 2059, it has accumulated six series models. It is the main mecha of the Chuckna Armored Forces.

In terms of appearance, [Taixing] looks a bit clumsy. But Fatty knows that this mecha is not only sturdy and powerful but also very agile. As long as it’s controlled properly, it’s definitely a close combat killer. At least, it’s far superior to that Jiepeng’s [Fushan] on the other side!

However, good as it is, the mecha in front of them is in a terrible state.

The entire mecha could be described as unrecognizable. The external armor was riddled with large holes, and the casing on the left chest and right abdomen had split open, exposing the wires and components inside. Part of the head was missing, leaving only a single eye and a chest-mounted observation lens for the visual system. The radar and fire control seemed to have been destroyed, completely useless, and not a single Energy Cannon was left, even the missiles had all been launched.

If these damages were somewhat acceptable, then the right arm, broken off at the elbow, and the left leg, severed at the knee, would certainly shatter any hopeful illusions about this mecha.

”Damn it!” Unrelenting, Fatty quickly climbed into the mecha’s cockpit.

”Pipi! Come here!”

”Coming!” The little kid scuttled over to the mecha, climbed up the fallen arm, and squeezed into the cockpit.

What’s Fatty asking the kid to do, hiding in there?

The Chuckna Warriors exchanged bewildered glances. Nash and Fatty’s every move was now the focus of the entire battlefield’s attention. After a brief rest, most of the Chuckna Warriors, except those on alert at the front lines, ran to the mecha trench out of curiosity. Even among them, some newbie bandit soldiers watched with interest.

The communicator was broken, and the computer-assisted system showed no response.

”Check the communicator, see if there’s any way to connect to SkyNet,” Fatty instructed the little kid.

”Easy.” Pipi flipped the backup power switch, igniting the engine and excitedly exclaimed, ”Fatty, the engine’s good!”

”I knew it!” Fatty focused on the control panel, his thoughts unreadable: ”This time, we’ll rely on it!” Saying this, he wriggled out of the cockpit, ”Is there a mechanical repair arm?”

Around the mecha, the Chuckna Warriors stared up stupidly at Fatty.

Nash glanced at his watch, then at the wreck of a mecha; his face twitched as he realized that Fatty was one hell of a madman!
