Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1172: Chapter 8-12: Where Did Pipi Go? (3)

”Is it really that high?” Baz, who is even more vain than Fatty, felt as sweet as if he had eaten honey and pretended to be surprised: ”My hand speed is also sixty moves.”

Saying this, he pointed to Hagrove, Meng Xun, and others beside him: ”Have you heard of the Mechanical God? That’s them. Their hand speed exceeds sixty-five moves.”

Boom, all the Chuckna Warriors felt a loud bang in their heads, and all their thoughts vanished.

They stared in disbelief in the direction Baz pointed, a group of careless Mixed Soldiers standing around in disarray, not in proper stances whether standing or sitting. Some of them, meeting their gaze, even raised cans of cigarettes, nodding and smiling at them. They were just a bunch of rabble.

*********

The forest outside the isolation zone around the position was quietly burning, flames licking the tree trunks like torches, occasionally making cracking noises. Black and gray-blue thick smoke drifted with the mountain wind, and the burnt smell mixed with the valley’s humid air, suffocating people. Deep craters still had white smoke seeping out, and in the water at the bottom of the craters, you could see a trace of crimson bloody froth flowing from corpses up the slope.

Fatty sat on an ammunition box, staring at the newly captured Mecha, shivering and gasping for breath. The deafening gunfire and explosions had ceased several minutes ago, but it seemed like only now were they gradually fading from his ears.

Without official Army battle attire, his uniform was already worn with several large holes. Mud covered his body and feet, and even his face and neck didn’t have many clean spots. He couldn’t hold the sniper rifle anymore, leaning it against the pit wall, the tactical helmet wobbling at his feet. His sweat-soaked short hair clumped into small bunches, looking like a hedgehog.

This battle had exhausted all Fatty’s strength. Although during the fight he could still go all out shooting desperately, as soon as it stopped, an instinctive fear began to set in. His body, trembling uncontrollably and aching, felt like it was about to fall apart. He stared blankly at the ground, too lazy to even move his eyeballs.

The enemy’s attack had been repelled again, and they captured a Mecha that only needed simple repairs to be ready for battle... However, they were surrounded, the mountains and fields crawling with enemies. According to the Jiepeng SkyNet, their main forces had already crossed this current defense line and started attacking the second line behind it.

The position he was on was like being in the middle of a rushing highway. One careless step, or some ill-intentioned guy nudging the Flying Car’s control stick, would see him engulfed and overwhelmed.

What an uninspired way to die... Fatty rolled his eyes, trying to find a conclusion to his life on this blackened, pockmarked land.

Damn it, it seems uncomfortable no matter where I lie. Especially if I lose a limb...

No, I can’t wait any longer.

Fatty picked up the repair arm, looking at the Fushan Mecha in front of him.

The Jiepeng people downhill were just a battalion. After suffering heavy casualties in the last attack, it would be hard to ensure they wouldn’t call for reinforcements. If an armored company or some fighter jets arrived, it would be over for him!

The only way is to strengthen myself! First, take their Mecha!

You forced me to do this!

Activating the repair arm, Fatty was about to work on the Fushan when he suddenly felt something was off.

Where the hell did that little punk Pipi run off to? It said it was collecting weapons, why isn’t it on the battlefield?
