Chapter 1156: Chapter 7: Worn-Out Mecha

The shelling stopped, and the smoke on the battlefield slowly dispersed with the wind.

Everyone had withdrawn to the sheltered trench behind the position.

Looking down the passage, all you could see were Chuckna warriors sitting wearily in the mud. Some were resting their eyes against the walls, others gulping down water. There were also some having their wounds bandaged by two bandit army medics. Their clothes were beyond recognition, covered in mud and dirt.

The bandit soldiers sat in the concealed trench behind the battlefield, fiddling with the weapons they had just acquired, while bragging and chatting.

Except for Markovich and two or three bandit soldiers, the others were clearly novices from their gun-holding postures. Those who received basic military training or belonged to combat units were slightly better. Others, who fiddled with electronic equipment as civilians and mechanics, took the gun and pointed the muzzle at themselves, examining it from all sides. It seemed they struggled so hard to get here just to find this thing to blow their brains out.

Even the famous mech knights from Mars were not much better. Their gun-holding poses were only slightly better than the two female operators holding guns crookedly.

However, the carefree bandit soldiers felt no shame about their inability to use guns.

In the first place, not many there had received this type of training, and besides, Fatty would never let the Mechanical God risk himself. According to him, everyone might fire a few shots at crucial moments, just as long as they didn’t aim at their own people. Following Fatty for so long, if nothing else, surely they must have learned not to care too much?

As for danger... damn it, where in this world isn’t dangerous? Piloting an armed merchant ship straight into the Jiepeng people’s space blockade, isn’t that dangerous? But everyone made it here.

With Fatty in command, there’s no obstacle you can’t overcome!

Recalling the breakthrough battle from a few hours earlier, the rookies chattered away, saliva flying.

At that time, Jiepeng’s fleet was huge. Centered around Canglang Star, patrol warships spread out almost to five jump channels beyond! It’s not just a small armed merchant ship; even bringing the entire Bandit Army Fleet might not get through.

You know, the Mikami Yuto-led Reflection, Thunderbolt, and Storm Super Fleets, each was at least equal to eight Feiyang A-Class fleets combined in size. In terms of combat power, they were considered the national defense forces of Jiepeng.

It’s said that even the most junior personnel in these three fleets were selected from the entire fleet. And their warships concentrated the top military technology that the Jiepeng Empire developed over the years. Jiepeng people openly claimed that these three fleets could annihilate twice the size of the Chuckna Fleet.

This time, two of the super fleets arrived. Plus eight Suss A-level fleets, it could be said that if Mikami Yuto wished, he could make Canglang Star unable to see the sun!

Fortunately, most of the Mikami Yuto Fleet’s attention was focused on defending the jump points of Leifeng Star and the Long March Star System. The defenses were aimed at possible large-scale Fei Alliance fleet appearances. Nobody thought an armed merchant ship would risk the breach for the stranded army remnants on Canglang Star, who were nearly caught like fish in a barrel.

This gave Bandit No.6, with Stealth Technology, a sliver of opportunity. However, this didn’t mean Bandit No.6 could charge into Canglang Star without any hindrance. You see, although it had stealth technology, Bandit No.6 had to activate the ion engines during the jump, which would make the stealth technology ineffective.

The only way was to pass through the barrier zone in stealth mode, then trim it tail, entering the jump from as far away from the jump point as possible, and ending the jump as far away from the jump endpoint as possible, reestablishing stealth mode to avoid the Western Alliance patrol ships focusing on monitoring both ends of the jump channel.

After coming out from Resk’s small jump point, the ship encountered no less than fifty Jiepeng patrol ships. Not counting the reconnaissance satellites Jiepeng laid in the barrier zone.

The first three alert lines went smoothly. After all, we could still wait for gaps in the Jiepeng patrol ships. But the last two alert lines were completely breached head-on. At that time, no one could control the ship anymore. Everyone could only watch in a cold sweat as the ship, in a ghostly possessed auto-pilot state, darting through the encirclement and pursuit at full speed.

That’s what danger is. Even now, no one figured out what kind of system Fatty installed on the ship. So powerful. Everyone was sincerely admiring Fatty’s calmness. You know, when the ship was just discovered by a Suss high-speed escort ship, Fatty still had the leisure to scold his son.

The smoke cleared, black-gray smoke rose to the sky, blown by the wind, like strands of thin black clouds. On the battlefield, two unfamiliar groups gathered together finally saw each other very clearly.

Having just finished the battle, even the officers hadn’t had time to speak. The soldiers could only look at each other. To the Chuckna warriors, this group wearing blue uniform mavericks looked especially peculiar.

It was obvious few of them had been on the battlefield. Except for two medics clumsily helping to treat the wounded, and another blonde officer leading a few people familiarizing themselves with the area outside the battlefield, most of the guys in blue uniforms were sprawled about lazily, oblivious to the tense battlefield atmosphere.
