Counterfeit Hero

Surrounding Cosmo, hundreds of [Sword] scattered across a five-square-kilometer battlefield, racing through loose soil at lightning speed. Energy Cannons fired between them, raising clouds of dust and smoke. Amidst the smoke and dense columns, the Bandit Army Mechas charged like a pride of attacking lions. Silent but powerful, their heavy feet trampled the ground, taut muscles and flying manes showing their strength, while their silent advance was the world’s deadliest signal!

The Suss Armored Regiment’s First Battalion on the steep slope had been breached; through ambush and close combat, fewer than fifty mechas remained. Now, under the assault led by Weiseler’s Second Battalion and Baz’s 3rd Battalion, they scattered and fled. The Bandit Army SM 3rd Group’s First Battalion, having jumped down the funnel-shaped high ground slope, was tasked with piercing the hastily formed defensive positions of Suss 402 Group’s Second Battalion on the plains.

If the Bandit Army could smash through this Suss Battalion blocking their path, they could launch a counterattack on the enemy’s assault positions. Once Thomas’s 4th Battalion and Markovich’s Sharp Blade Company joined the battle, the Bandit Army would achieve a glorious victory!

The figures of the Suss Mecha Group grew infinitely larger in Cosmo’s eyes.

As Cosmo charged like a rampaging rhino into the Suss Mecha Group, thoughts turned to the Fatty eagerly rubbing his hands before departure.

Poor Northern Commerce Alliance, they had no idea they were facing an elite strike force consisting of fifty top Mecha Warriors from various sects! Even more terrifying, that unit was led by Fatty!

God bless those unlucky souls, Amen.

Puluo Town’s southeast Lorenzo Agricultural Zone lies in a triangle between Central City West District and Puluo Town. It is mostly a plain except for the small hills near the southern Pingqi Ridge Mountains. The Lorenzo River runs through the area, crossing the northern plains, meandering southward into the valleys between the hills, finally converging into the southwest-flowing Calif River.

Thanks to its superior geography and fertile soil, the Lorenzo Agricultural Zone has always been Mars Central City’s most important food base, with a population density much higher than remote agricultural areas, and developed transportation roads and town facilities. After the Sect War erupted, tens of thousands of ordinary citizens migrated from Central City to avoid the conflict. The Lorenzo Agricultural Zone became a refuge. In merely one or two months, various temporary residences and tents extended from the outer poverty areas of Central City to the agricultural zone, forming a chaotic urban sprawl.

Fatty sat bored in his mecha, scratching idly.

His current position was in the wooded hills approximately ten kilometers west of the largest farm in the Lorenzo Agricultural Zone. Directly below him was the Lorenzo No.5 Bridge, where the district road intersects with No.7 Resource Highway.

The nearly three-kilometer-long, four-hundred-meter-wide bridge spanned the turbulent Lorenzo River. The roaring waves seemed continuous, crashing against the bridge piers and forming a white semi-circular arc, the spray merging back into the river, flowing southward. A gentle breeze rustled the hilltop forest leaves softly, with occasional crisp bird calls echoing, followed by the flapping sounds as birds flew away.

Fifty green mechas silently lurked in the dense woods.

Fatty maneuvered his mecha, flipping over lightly, exposing his mecha’s metallic belly to the sunlight filtering through the tree leaves.

”Anyone for a chat?” Fatty opened the cockpit, crawled onto the mecha belly, pulled up his shirt to expose his pale belly, squinted in the sun while scratching it, and spoke through the earpiece to Weii Jianshan nearby: ”Old Wei, are you scared about the upcoming fight?”

The Second-level War God turned his head with a stern face, ignoring Fatty.

”Don’t be afraid!” Fatty comforted: ”It’s your first time. You’ll get used to blood, then you’ll enjoy it!”

”Shut up!” Weii Jianshan showed no respect for the bandit army’s top leader. To him, this Fatty was a natural-born scoundrel, and it was surprising he hadn’t been chopped to death yet.

Laughter from the Mech Knights echoed through the comm channels.

”Hehe.” Fatty chuckled heartily: ”Old Wei is thin-skinned!”

”Colonel, how long do we have to wait?” George Kolt, Level 1 Mecha Commander of the Black Dragon Sect, asked.

”What, can’t wait anymore?” Fatty said, basking indolently under the sun, feeling extremely pleased.

Apart from himself, the fifty mechas included two Mechanical Gods, twenty-two Level 1 Mecha Commanders, and twenty-five Second-level Mecha Commanders! Not to mention the top Mecha Warriors, who due to their status, couldn’t join frontline operations, nor those sect leaders who might be older or joined the bandit army later.

Squinting, basking in the golden sunlight filtering through the tree crowns, Fatty believed no nation’s military could possess such power. And now, this power was his! Reaching the Free World’s primary goal was nearly complete; various sects continued to gather in Puluo Town. The Sect Mutual Aid Alliance symbol had become the ultimate destination for all sects.
