Counterfeit Hero

”It’s been exaggerated.” Chuck laughed, ”A mechanic soldier who hasn’t undergone formal military command training, no matter how impressive, can’t become a military strategist. The art of command, strategic thinking, tactical style, and military strategy are not just about playing tricks and blowing up a few buildings.”

The young staff officer with glasses immediately flattered, ”Then this guy has come to the wrong place. His little tricks might fool some of our militia allies, but he could never have imagined that Chuck, a top graduate from the Suss Light Cavalry Military Academy, would be his opponent. I really want to see the expression on this counterfeit hero’s face when his mask is torn off.”

The words of the staff officer with glasses created a resonance, and everyone nodded in agreement. Besides flattering their superior, most of them genuinely admired Chuck. Seven years ago, Chuck graduated third in his class from the Suss Light Cavalry Military Academy and then rose to the rank of colonel through his accumulated military achievements in regional conflicts. He was highly strategic and had published several highly praised military papers. As everyone present knew, Chuck was destined to be promoted to Major General. Crossing this threshold, Chuck would join the ranks of the Suss Generals. Achieving such results as a young officer only thirty-two years old was truly eye-catching.

Chuck had heard enough compliments from his staff. He maintained a constant smile on his face. He was neither arrogant nor overly modest or shy. He just turned his head and looked towards the northwest, where Puluo Town was located.

In the distance, a massive convoy consisting of Mecha repair vehicles, logistics supply trucks, and troop transports was rolling forward on the No. 3 Resource Highway. On the main road of the central interchange, a tide of Mechas had already turned and started along No. 2 Resource Highway.

The smile in Chuck’s eyes gradually disappeared. His gaze became as sharp as an eagle’s. Standing at the highest point of the hill, his voice carried in the wind: ”General Ulianov, after all, is a great general of the Empire, second only to General Bellif. He sees further ahead than we do. The Leray Central Star Domain will soon be fully open. By then, our Suss Empire can communicate westward with the Desic Empire, the Naga Federation and the Binart Empire, to secure victory in the Karsdon Star River. In the middle, we can sweep through Tatania and Puditok, acquiring more resource planets. To the south, Knevel Four Countries and Gazalin will also fall into our hands. But...”

Chuck’s voice grew colder.

”To maintain the Empire’s interests, we must ensure the smooth flow of this route! Now, the Empire’s army can continuously reach any place we desire through the main route. But if anything goes wrong with the main route, we will hand over our hard-won interests to Jiepeng! We are trapped in the eastern corner of the human interstellar map, blocked by Jiepeng and Chuckna! The Empire has had enough of this confinement. This time, we can’t close this pathway to becoming a superpower!”

By the end, Chuck’s voice was severe and intense. The staff officers and a few military officers around him had also put away their smiles, standing solemnly. As soldiers of the Suss Empire, each one carried the same belief—that the last hope of the Suss Empire becoming a superpower amidst the dwindling resources of the human interstellar map lay in this war, which could not afford to fail!

No one could stand in their way!

”Relay the order: expedite the advance, establish an attack position at the 230-kilometer mark on the Navarre Plain along No. 2 Resource Highway. By tomorrow morning, take the 205 and 261 high points on both wings of Pingqi Ridge, which guard the road. By evening, I want to occupy Puluo Town!”

”Are you sure?” Weii Jianshan looked at the Mecha-driving Fatty, who was jumping around in front of him, his forehead vein throbbing.

”I’m sure!” Fatty continued jumping seriously, ”Today, I’m going to make you submit wholeheartedly!”

Weii Jianshan remained silent for a long time before finally turning his head and muttering, ”Ridiculous!”

”Hurry up!” Fatty shouted angrily, ”Don’t be a turtle hiding in its shell!”

”You’re the turtle hiding in its shell!” Weii Jianshan was so angry that he saw stars.

”Prove you’re not a turtle and come on!” Fatty extended his mechanical arm and beckoned with his middle finger provocatively, ”Come on!”

Weii Jianshan glared at Fatty fiercely. He couldn’t understand why this fat ball suddenly drove a Phantom Stream Private Mecha to challenge him.

The Private Mecha swayed like a butterfly, and the middle finger beckoned again!

”Come touch me.”

Weii Jianshan jumped up in a rage, grabbing the Mecha control stick, ”Damn it, as a Second-level Mecha War God, can’t I touch you? I’ll touch you to death today!”
