Counterfeit Hero

Now, it’s the first time the [Sword], integrated with Free World technology, will make its debut!

The Suss Armored Group’s fierce artillery barrage stopped abruptly a hundred meters before the 205 highland line as dozens of [Boxing King] vehicles in the forefront of the triangle attack formation advanced.

The smoke from the explosions had not yet dispersed in the wind, and the rain of sand and gravel kept crackling. Amid the intense trembling of the ground, a Portable Energy Cannon with a twisted barrel, discarded at the frontline, was crushed into scrap metal by a mechanical foot from the sky. Amid the pervasive smoke, the imposing figure of the first [Boxing King] appeared on the bandit army’s position.

Sporadic artillery fire could not stop the advance of the Suss Mecha. After the first [Boxing King], came the second, the third.......

When the forefront of the entire triangle attack formation had deeply penetrated the endless smoke and dust of the 205 highland line, all the Suss Soldiers at the rear felt a wave of relief. Even the 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the 402nd Regiment, which had been ready to fill the gap, unconsciously slowed their assembly at the attack position.

In the end, flesh and blood could not withstand the assault of a steel torrent. The previous attacks had almost shaved off a layer of the 205 highland, making it impossible for any living being to survive there. With so many shells falling, even if they were stones, it would be enough to pulverize everyone on top into mush.

”Charge!” At the command of the Suss officer, five hundred [Boxing King] Mecha and several dozen [Fortress] Heavy Mecha of the Second Battalion, positioned at the front of the attack position, scrambled out of the trenches. These seasoned warriors knew that being brave wouldn’t get them hurt at this moment, making each of them eager to move forward.

The commander of the 3rd Battalion, following behind, subconsciously glanced at the time on his helmet’s electronic eyeglass, smiled, and turned to say something to the relaxed-looking regimental commander..... However, before he could speak, his smile froze on his face.

A military horn sounded faintly from the 205 highland.

The battalion commander of the 3rd Battalion turned around abruptly, his peripheral vision catching the expressions of his comrades beside him. From everyone’s faces, he knew he hadn’t misheard—it was not an electronic horn, but a real military horn! Blown with a mouth! Its clear and abrupt sound pierced through the thick smoke, echoing across the sky.

Immediately, the first earth-shattering explosion sounded on the 205 highland.

The intense explosion lit up the smoke screen in front of the position!

”Kill!”

A voice followed the horn and explosion, like a giant exclamation mark after a speech.

In an instant, countless massive and fierce figures leaped out from the trenches on the 205 highland.

It was a type of ugly Mecha never seen by the Suss people before, suddenly appearing before the startled [Boxing King] Mecha, their 260mm Energy Cannons spewing countless deadly light clusters, forming a shocking web of firepower.

In the blink of an eye, the leading dozen [Boxing King] Mecha were engulfed by these light clusters. Their energy shields reached energy saturation and ultimately burned out the energy probes in less than a second, and then the Mecha’s armor was shredded into pieces, with the entire Mecha disintegrating into fragments amid violent explosions.

More and more ugly Mecha jumped out of the trenches, their firepower extending, with light chains continuously forming as their terrible barrels jolted.

”God!”

All the Suss people at the attack position were filled with rage and shock.

They didn’t understand when those infantry on the position turned into an entire Armored Camp. They didn’t understand why their Mecha radar and electronic Mecha failed to detect the changes on the enemy’s position. They were even more puzzled about where this bandit army had found so many madmen who dared to fire at the [Boxing King] Mecha’s artillery from fifty meters away.

The First Battalion’s triangle attack formation began to fall apart.

The unexpected strike inevitably threw the Suss Mecha Warriors into chaos. They forgot their positions, their coordination and cover, and at such close-range combat, they could only dodge desperately and fire blindly.

Their 180mm Energy Cannons seemed weak in front of the opponent’s Energy Cannons. The Suss people were going mad, unable to fathom why such large-caliber Energy Cannons appeared on the Free World’s Mecha and not on some Escort Ship’s flank.

Is this even a Mecha?

There was no time to figure out their questions. The bandit army Mecha’s nearly frenzied firepower rampaged like a flood, destroying everything.

The Suss people’s triangle formation cramped together on the narrow slope of the 205 highland. If they were still facing those infantry, it wouldn’t be a problem. Even facing the Private Mecha known to them from the Free World wouldn’t be an issue.

But when they faced hundreds of these ugly and ferocious Mechas on the position, this was a disaster!
