Chapter 1339: Proposal

With Annaʼs speed, reaching the Moon Temple headquarters didnʼt take too long, even from their position. It only took her three hours of rushing at full speed to arrive.

Meanwhile, Nathan also reached the airship field in less than an hour and proceeded to arrange the rest of the airship and finalized the deal between him and the Greenwood Kingdom.

Of course, both of them had expected the saintess to not meet Anna immediately. She had to wait for several hours.

As she expected, the moment she entered the hall where they previously met when Anna handed over the ring, the peopleʼs expression didnʼt look good.

”Miss Anna. I know that we have a good relationship with the Ardagan family. But visiting us like this will cause a problem or two. Iʼm sure you know this, Miss Anna.” One paladin explained as he couldnʼt contain his displeasure.

Layla waved her hand, telling him to stop. She then stood up and explained, ”Miss Anna. Iʼm aware that youʼre a busy person. However, please understand that Paladin Dion was expressing his concern, especially with your sensitive identity.

”Although weʼre indebted to you, itʼs not a reason for us not to voice our concern.” Layla sighed.

Anna understood it very well. If it was in the past, she would have scorned them, since the Moon Temple had owed them a lot.

However, with her understanding of politics deepened, she could see where they were coming.

Anna looked at them with a calm expression. ”Iʼm aware that my sudden arrival here will cause a problem.

”However, I donʼt really have a hidden intention of coming here. I simply donʼt have much time, so Iʼd like to apologize first and foremost.”

Layla glanced at the others as if trying to stop others from speaking another word. She had to take over the conversation since she shouldnʼt show any hostility to Anna because they indeed had helped them a lot. In fact, the trucks allowed them to help a lot more people. They werenʼt an ungrateful bunch.

”In that case, letʼs end this matter here. I hope that thereʼs enough reason for you to come here so suddenly…” Layla sighed.

Anna nodded. ”Actually, my Ardagan family would like to build a charity organization. And we would like to partner up with Moon Temple.”

”Charity organization?” Layla looked surprised.

Some older people, such as the archbishop, couldnʼt help but recall something.

ʼThe Ardagan family, under the leadership of the former head, Luke Ardagan, had the same thing as well. Itʼs a pretty well-run foundation that helps a lot of people.ʼ The archbishop squinted his eyes. ʼIs the new lord planning to do the same?ʼ

With the goddess restoring her eyesight, she could clearly see the peopleʼs expression. Some were confused, some were examining Anna, but none of them looked like they were thinking about rejecting it.

”May I know the details?” Layla asked.

”Well, since this is sudden, we donʼt have a proposal ready. However, weʼre planning to create an organization that takes care of villages and cities in need. If necessary, even repair them or develop the area. Itʼs not just about distributing food.

”The Ardagan family would like to contribute the money, the transportation, and some manpower. I will talk about transportation later.

”As for the money, we will be preparing at least 120,000 gold coins every month.”

”!!!” The people inside the room were stunned.

”120,000…”

”Gold Coins? Did I hear it right? Not silver coins, but gold coins?”

”Itʼs really 120,000 gold coins.”

”A person only needs 10 copper coins per day to eat two big meals. 1 gold coin is 10,000 copper coins. So, 120,000 gold coins can feed 120,000,000 people for a single day.”

The people were in complete shock. Even the archbishop, who was the calmest among them, still felt disturbed by the amount of money.

ʼOur church has about 30,000 to 40,000 gold coins every month from donations and other means.

ʼAnd theyʼre planning to donate over three or four times that amount? This is insane. A city usually has about 10,000 people. Their donation alone can feed all those people for over a year.

ʼItʼs no wonder theyʼre planning for other projects, such as building the road and other things. Most of the money will probably be used for procuring materials.

ʼIs there a hidden catch?ʼ The archbishop squinted his eyes.

”Thatʼs a large amount of money…” Layla smiled wryly. ”To think that the Ardagan family is planning to donate that amount every month…”

”Itʼs just the minimum. If possible, Iʼm planning to work with the merchants affiliated with the family. Iʼm sure you are already aware of their existence. If they help us, procuring materials will be much cheaper or getting more funds wonʼt be impossible.” Anna shook her head, reminding her she said ʼoverʼ 120,000 gold coins.

Even Layla was stunned by that amount. She couldnʼt help but ask, ”Do you have a condition? Do I need to remind you that the Moon Temple is not interfering with politics and other things?”

”We only have three conditions. The first thing is that we would like the northern area of the Muivell Kingdom to be the first priority. Considering the establishment of the new headquarters, using this as an event shouldnʼt be weird in the peopleʼs eyes.

”The second condition is that this will be a joint effort between the Moon Temple and the Ardagan family. Hence, I hope you set up the banner for both the Moon Temple and the Ardagan family.

”Last but not least, there might be some areas that we would like you to reach. Weʼll give you another proposal at that time and we hope youʼre able to review it. If you think itʼs possible, weʼd like you to accept our proposal in helping those areas. If not, we will give up.

”Thatʼs all of our conditions. I believe that itʼs not excessive.”

When Layla heard their condition, she was baffled. Rather than excessive, it felt like the Ardagan would be losing too much.
