Chapter 1301 Trouble

”The Tower Associationʼs elders have arrived.”

”!!!” Rose gasped. She had expected them to come sooner or later, but this was earlier than she imagined. Without hesitation, Rose turned to Clara and said, ”How about coming into the mansion first? Thereʼs something Iʼd have to take care of. Sandra. Please lead them inside.”

”Understood.” Sandra nodded.

”Something must have gone wrong.” Clara frowned. ”Do you need any help?”

”Itʼs fine, Captain Clara. I should be able to take care of it for the time being.” Rose smiled wryly.

”Is that so?” Clara nodded. ”In that case, you have to be careful.”

”Yes.” Rose waved her hand while rushing out. She knew that if the Tower Association came, they would visit one place first.

No, she was sure that the Tower Association would ignore the Ardagan family because Noel wasnʼt here and struck them first.

That was why she had to prevent it.

…

As Rose predicted, the first place the Tower Association elders visited was none other than Roelʼs workshop.

Bang!

The door was slammed open, startling all the blacksmiths and staff inside the workshop.

”Who are you?” The guards hurriedly stopped them, but one of the elders grasped their necks while shouting back, ”Who are we? Weʼre from the Tower Association. Mere guards dare to stand before us?!”

”Gah!”

The guards were gritting their teeth. On the one hand, they were afraid of death. On the other hand, they had a job. If it was another place, they would probably be so scared that they might abandon their weapon, but this was the Ardagan family.

Once the people tested such a fine lifestyle, they couldnʼt go back anymore, let alone when they saw their family getting taken care of.

”You need an appointment before you can enter the workshop!” One of the guards gritted their teeth to warn them.

It incurred the wrath of the person that held his neck.

”You little guard. Dare to—!” The elder was clenching his fist, wanting to snap this guardʼs neck.

However, Roelʼs voice suddenly echoed from the side. ”What is going on here?”

”!!!” The elders from the Tower Association turned their heads to the side.

”Grandmaster Roel…” The guards looked shocked.

The moment they found out Roelʼs identity, the elders smirked and just tossed the guards to the side.

One of them stepped forward and said, ”We are elders from the Tower Association. Your rune technology has caused a lot of mess and is extremely dangerous. We will have to inspect it first to make sure that nothing can go wrong!”

”Heh? Tower Association?” Roel had a smug smile on his face.

”What? Do you think that just because you are a grandmaster from the Ardagan family, you can disrespect the Tower Association as you like?”

”No way I can disrespect the Tower Association. Itʼs just… youʼre acting like a hooligan, so I wonder if you are the real envoys. You didnʼt prove your identities, you didnʼt send a message about your arrival, and you even fought with the guards.” Roel shrugged. ”If you were the envoys from the Tower Association, you should behave like one. And thatʼs where I will treat you as one.”

”You!” One of the elders gritted their teeth.

However, the other stepped forward while taking out a badge. ”This is the badge of the elder of the Tower Association. As a grandmaster, you should be able to recognize this batch. Iʼm the Fire Lord of the Tower Association and coming with me is the Light Lord.”

Roel squinted his eyes. His real intention wasnʼt to fight them. He was just buying time so that the reinforcements could arrive.

And it appeared he had bought that time.

Roseʼs voice echoed from behind. ”Dear envoys of the Tower Association, it seems youʼre disrespecting the Ardagan family.”

”!!!” The Light Lord turned around. ”Who are you?”

”Itʼs a pleasure to meet you. Iʼm Rose, the Pillar of Inner Management, as well as Marquis Ardaganʼs secretary.

”Even though the Marquis is away, donʼt you think that your action has just shown you ignoring the Ardagan family? May we confirm if this is the stance of the Tower Association?”

The Light Lord bit his lips while the Fire Lord stated, ”Of course, this is not our stance. Itʼs just… I have a doubt about the Ardagan family. With the lord and the lady of the house gone, the one in charge of the Ardagan family is supposed to be his disciple, right? Shouldnʼt he be the first one to greet us? Or maybe the Ardagan family has considered themselves to be bigger than the Tower Association?”

Rose harrumphed. ”It appears the Tower Association has become bigger than the Muivell Kingdom! Are you undermining the authority of the royal family?!”

The Ardagan family was supposed to be the last person to say such a thing, considering they didnʼt respect them at all. At the same time, they had never claimed they were bigger boldly, so they couldnʼt really refute those words.

”We—!” The Fire Lord wanted to speak, but his words were interjected by a young voice.

”Imperial Law 32, Section C. Regarding the management of the technology. Each lord is able to create, manage, and handle everything that is related to their technology.

”The Rune Technology, specifically the car, is still managed by us. Itʼs not your place to meddle in our management, Tower Association. We will have to report you if youʼre planning to ignore the Imperial Law.”

”!!!” Everyoneʼs eyes shifted to the right side. Even Tristan had arrived. In the last two weeks, he had been cramming all the laws in the books, so he was ready to fight them.

”The Tower Association has the mission to ensure that the new technology will not put any harm to the citizens. And now, your rune technology has broken down and almost harmed people. We have the right to inspect it.” The Fire Lord smirked, thinking, ʼIf you want to fight, then letʼs fight. A kid daring to fight against me, I will show you the gap in our knowledge.ʼ

Tristan smirked. ”Imperial Law 108, Section A1. The kingdom has given the right to the Tower Association to oversee the new technologyʼs safety and conduct.”

The Fire Lord harrumphed, thinking he had won.

However, Tristan added, ”However, it is also stated that they have to collaborate with the family in charge. And look what we have here. Not only do you disregard the Ardagan family, but you also donʼt put the Imperial Law in your eyes. Maybe… The Tower Association plans to rebel?”

”!!!”
